THE SWEETEST CELEBRATION

120 Years of Banking. 120 Cakes of Gratitude.

As 2025 comes to a close and 2026 begins, AVB Bank isn’t just marking time – they are celebrating a legacy. One built on trust, relationships, and an unwavering commitment to the Broken Arrow community for 120 remarkable years

Founded in February 1905, two years before Oklahoma achieved statehood, Arkansas Valley National Bank opened its doors in the town of Broken Arrow—then part of Indian Territory. From the very beginning, the bank was more than a place to conduct business; it was a cornerstone of a growing community.

Just four years later, in February 1909, two years after Oklahoma became a state, the institution transitioned to a state charter and became Arkansas Valley State Bank. Nearly a century later, in October 2008, the name evolved once more—this time to AVB Bank, reflecting both progress and continuity.

AVB Bank is going boldly forward. What has never changed is the heart behind the name.

AVB Bank today, 2026. The landmark sculpture, BINDING CONTRACT, depicts two cowboys shaking hands across a fence. Located in the AVB Bank Plaza, directly in front of the downtown Broken Arrow location, this impactful sculpture resides in the heart of the Rose District. Bradford L. Williams, a self-taught artist from Chino Valley, Arizona, created the sculpture. Williams lives and reveres the “cowboy way of life” and his art is reflective of that way of life. While working with AVB, Williams stated: “The sculpture says so much about how people treat each other. I know that your bank [AVB] still holds in high esteem the tried and true traditions such as honest hard work and that a person’s promise, by handshake, is still the highest form of shared expectations.” Photo courtesy of AVB Bank, January 2026.

From its inception in 1905 to the present day, AVB Bank has remained under the same family ownership and leadership, a rare distinction in modern banking. Today, Kelley Kimbrough Rash, fourth generation, serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors, while Cooper Rash, fifth generation, serves as Vice President of Marketing and a member of the Board. In total, ownership spans six generations, a testament to stewardship, stability, and vision.

#CakedbyAVB

Throughout 2025, AVB Bank reflected on its milestone anniversary by turning gratitude into action. Through its #CakedbyAVB initiative, the bank connected with 120 customers, partners, organizations, and nonprofits, surprising each with a celebratory cake.

“Each visit was a simple but powerful gesture—saying thank you for the trust, the partnerships, and the shared investment in the community AVB proudly calls home.”

It wasn’t about cake alone.

It was about connection.

AVB Bank honors relationships.

Each celebration honored a relationship. Each cake represented a story. Together, they illustrated the impact of a community bank that has grown alongside Broken Arrow for more than a century.

120 years of trust.

120 years of relationships.

120 years of growth.

According to Ted Cundiff, President & CEO of AVB Bank, the celebration over this past year was “not just about honoring history, but about thanking the community that has made 120 years possible.”

A Handshake Across Time

For over 120-years, generations of customers have called AVB Bank their bank. While the face of banking has changed through the years, one thing that has not changed at AVB is the respect for tradition, honesty and integrity.

AVB Bank has a vision.

As AVB Bank looks ahead to 2026 and beyond, its mission remains unchanged: to serve, connect and succeed together. AVB’s vision is to be the community bank most admired for their people, partnerships and performance…while serving with integrity and enjoyment, investing locally, working together to encourage personal growth and build lasting relationships and acknowledge and celebrate success and dreams achieved—one customer, one family, one community at a time.

Here’s to 2026… and to the next 120 years!

THE

Since 2015, NuRoof & Construction has been more than just a roofing company in Tulsa—it’s been a family-run operation with deep local roots and a big heart for its community. Cass Benner, the owner and operator, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for quality craftsmanship to the business. “Our primary focus is roofing, residential and commercial, but our scope of work is far beyond that,” Cass shared, emphasizing the company’s versatility.

Cass’s background in construction spans a wide range of expertise, including roofing, framing, concrete work, and even building pole barns. This hands-on experience has shaped NuRoof’s ability to tackle diverse projects. “We can do anything from concrete work to adding on decks and more,” Cass said.

NuRoof Advantage: Services

NuRoof specializes in new construction and reroofs, but they also handle repairs, which is vital in storm-prone Oklahoma. With a team that stays current on industry innovations through ongoing training, customers can trust that they’re getting top-tier service.

“It’s always good to once a year have a professional inspection on your roof, especially after any major storm,” Cass advised. To make that easier, NuRoof offers free inspections.

NuRoof Advantage: Licensing

One of the company’s proudest achievements is earning their commercial license. “We’re particularly excited about achieving our commercial license,” Cass said. This milestone allows NuRoof to better serve Tulsa’s business community, helping protect valuable assets with reliable roofing solutions. Licensed not just in Oklahoma but also in Arkansas and Kansas, NuRoof is expanding its reach while staying committed to its local values. “We can work throughout Oklahoma,” Cass noted.

NuRoof Advantage: Communication For NuRoof, the customer experience is just as important as the work itself. “In the construction environment, there can often be a huge lack of communication,” Cass acknowledged. To address this, NuRoof assigns a project manager to all jobs, ensuring clear and constant communication between the customer and the office. This hands-on approach extends to navigating the often- daunting insurance claims process. After a free inspection, NuRoof determines if storm damage warrants a claim and guides customers step-by-step. For those worried about costs, financing options are available, recognizing that not everyone can afford a lump-sum payment for repairs or replacements.

NuRoof Advantage: Warranty NuRoof backs its full roof replacements with a five-year workmanship warranty, along with manufacturer warranties on shingles. “We treat every customer as if their home is our own,” Cass said. It’s this personal touch that has earned the company the trust of over 2,600 customers in Tulsa alone. Whether it’s a quick repair or a full-scale commercial project, their team is ready to provide hassle-free, high-quality

PREARRANGE YOUR FUNERAL FINAL WISHES WITHOUT PREPAYING

Shying from preplanning your funeral is natural, however it is one of the most compassionate gifts you can give yourself, family and friends. There are many details to consider beyond the disposition of your remains. Preplanning your funeral includes numerous details from burial vs. cremation, selecting your service type, documenting important information like pallbearers, obituary details, and tasks such as caring for a pet, logistics, paperwork, and so much more. It’s a challenging thing to think about, however doing so provides a necessary benefit that will reduce stress and anxiety.

Final Wishes Card

Connie Reynolds and her staff at Reynolds Cremation & Funeral Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offer more than 20 years

of compassionate experience in walking you through the steps of prearranging your final wishes without paying. You leave a concise plan for your loved ones without mystery. Your “Final Wishes Card” is no cost or obligation, and ensures your wishes are documented for your family.

Preplanning

Reduces Stress

Connie says her line of work is ministry. “We honor and respect all faiths and beliefs,” she explains. “Our staff is bilingual for those speaking Spanish and thoughtful with every detail of your needs. We also offer free tours of our beautiful funeral home. Together we’ll help you through each step without tension. Your family will not have to struggle or worry about those hard choices. Your detailed pre-arrangement will remain on file at our office. All you need to do is keep your “Final Wishes Card” in your wallet, put it into a safe place, or give to the person who will be responsible in the event of your death.”

By comparison shopping you’ll see big price differences for essentially the same goods and services. Reynolds Cremation & Funeral Services is one of the most affordable in the Tulsa metropolitan area.

Planning is not about facing the inevitability of death—it’s about caring for the people you love in the gentlest way possible. As Connie puts it, “If I die is not correct. It is when I die. No one wants to think about it, but the burden on your loved ones can be immense.” By taking action today, you can ensure that your family is supported and comforted when they need it most.

GRIGSBY’S CARPET, TILE & HARDWOOD 66 YEARS:

For more than 66 years, Grigsby’s Carpet, Tile & Hardwood in Tulsa is a long-standing, locally owned business known for a wide range of flooring options beyond its name, including carpet, tile, luxury vinyl plank, hardwood, and countertops. Beyond their vast selection of flooring, Grigsby’s team of loyal employees help their clients with unparalleled full-service customer service. Each person at every level is determined to exceed their customers’ expectations.

Top Flooring Trends for 2026

As homeowners seek spaces that feel warm, personal, and connected to the natural world, the flooring industry is shifting away from stark minimalism toward organic, texture, and high-performance options.

The reign of cool, gray-toned flooring is changing. 2026 ushers in a warmer palette that makes interiors feel cozy and inviting. According to Penny Carnino, Grigsby’s Director of Operations, said “The prevailing themes for 2026 are natural warm weaved fibers, stylistic traits, sustainability creating enduring floors that are as gorgeous and resilient.”

CARPET

Colors include a palette of soothing earth tones and expressive, saturated shades such as rosey earthtones, warm taupe, light beige, and terracotta. Any color considered a neutral that projects warmth without overwhelming the space. Additionally, colors of nature’s greens and blues are on trend. These colors include sage, moss green, deep forest green, and coastal blues. The result offers a sense of tranquility, relaxation, and creativity.

On the forefront are jewel tones for bold rooms. These colors include sapphire, emerald, amethyst, and navy. These colors add an opulent mood and elite ambiance to formal or entertainment areas.

Sculpted and Textured Loops: Multi-dimensional carpets are practical because they hide footprints and vacuum patterns. WOODS AND LUXURY VINYL PLANK

Colors: Expect to see a rise in honeyed oaks, caramel, and chestnut browns. These mid-tone and richer shades serve as sophisticated neutrals, easily complementing various design styles from modern farmhouse to organic minimalism. Soft taupes, sand beiges, and creamy off-whites are also popular for creating a serene backdrop.

Statement patterns and wide planks are also on trend. These designs meet the demand for a canvas for self-expression. Diverse patterns are making a comeback, adding depth and an European elegance to kitchens, entryways, and living areas.

Wide-plank flooring (7 inches or more) remains a popular choice, as fewer seams create a more seamless and expansive visual flow, making rooms feel larger and more serene. Luxury vinyl plank continues its popularity due to advancements that make it incredibly realistic in mimicking natural wood and stone textures. Its water resistant and durable nature makes it ideal for high-traffic and moisture-prone areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Design styles and colors are virtually limitless.

TILES A focus on texture and matte finishes: The new luxury isn’t ONLY about shine; it’s about touch and authenticity. Highgloss finishes are sharing the stage with low-luster matte and satin finishes.

SURFACES

Tactile surfaces offer a “quiet texture”.  Wire-brushed, hand-scraped, and softly distressed surfaces are popular because they highlight the wood’s natural grain and character while also being practical for hiding everyday wear and tear. Matte finishes reflect less light, making dust, scratches, and footprints less visible—a major plus for busy households.

MADE IN THE U.S.A

Grigsby’s takes pride in their offerings of flooring made in the USA. This includes a wide variety of products like engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and carpet, known for high quality, safety standards, and durability. “Buying American-Made flooring supports our U.S. economy, as well as avoids extra costs associated with tariffs,” explained Penny.

In Oklahoma, where red dirt meets wild weather, Devin Duncanson has built something remarkable with “Oklahoma’s Best Power Washing and Soft Washing Services.” What started as a passion project—born from long hours of pressure washing parking lots — has grown into a respected business committed to keeping homes and commercial properties looking their best. This is a local family business operated by Devin and his mother Soni Duncanson.

Gutter Cleaning Rain can create an obvious appearance of organic fungi on walkways, patios, driveways, siding, decks, and roofs; as well as its effects on overall proper gutter function. While often overlooked, clean gutters play a critical role in preserving a home’s integrity and appearance.

“Clogged gutters don’t just look bad, they cause real damage,” Devin explained. “When gutters overflow because of packed debris, the water spills over, creating dirt streaks, holes in the yard, and even leads to mold on the siding.”

Roof Cleaning Roof cleaning, a newer addition to their services, is another significant change. “Sometimes people think they need a new roof,” said Devin. “But it just needs to be cleaned. Mold and debris can eat away at your shingles if left unchecked.” Devin’s highly-rated results are based on his knowledge of chemical treatments coupled with his professional equipment.

His reputation for excellence is not just based on skill but on dedication. Devin is known for making multiple passes if unsatisfied with the results. “If something’s not right, I fix it. It’s

that simple. If the customer’s not happy, I’m not happy.”

Residential and Commercial

The business is growing, with “90% of work currently residential”, though Devin welcomes more commercial contracts. Oklahoma’s Best Power Washing and Soft Washing Services has invested in powerful equipment and specific chemical treatments for proper pressure, reach, and exceptional cleaning results. From sidewalks to siding, no project is too far—literally. “We’ve traveled over three hours to clean a customer’s home. If it’s a job worth doing, we’ll be there.”

Complete Exterior Cleaning

Seasonal upkeep is also crucial. Devin recommends complete exterior cleaning at least once a year, especially during summer, to combat mold growth and debris buildup from storms. “It’s not just about looks. A clean home lasts longer.”

For hesitant homeowners, Devin offered this message: “Your home is likely your biggest investment. Keeping it clean is about protecting that investment. Don’t wait until there’s damage.”

Oklahoma’s Best Power Washing and Soft Washing Services offers free estimates and serves a wide area. They can be reached via phone, website, or social media. Whether it’s clearing gutters, restoring a roof, or simply giving a house a fresh face, Devin proves every day that passion, professionalism, and power washing make a perfect combination.

OWE YOUR BUDGET AN INSURANCE COST “REALITY CHECK”

In an age of 1-800 numbers and hold music that could put anyone to sleep, there’s something refreshingly human about walking into an office where the people know your name—and your deductible. Meet Alex and Abrina Tarasenko, the energetic husband-and-wife team behind Everything Insurance, based right here in Tulsa.

The Tarasenkos aren’t your run-of-the-mill insurance brokers. “We work for the people, not the companies,” Alex says. “Being brokers means we can shop around the carriers for you, instead of just pushing one company’s rates.” And with auto and home premiums in Oklahoma spiking an average of $2,296 over the past year, now sitting just behind Florida and Kansas, you’ll want that shopping power on your side.

Everything Insurance Connects With Clients

But it’s not just about the numbers. The team at Everything Insurance thrives on connection. “We still do face-to-face consultations,” Abrina says. “We’re here when something goes wrong, not just to sell you a policy and disappear.”

And let’s be real, insurance talk can be… well, dry. That’s why Alex and Abrina take a lighthearted approach. “Right now, everything’s going up. Groceries, gas, premiums. We want to help people navigate that without adding stress,” says Abrina. “If you have insurance, this article is for you,” she jokes.

Everything Insurance Saves Clients Money

Their team isn’t just focused on making things cheaper, they make them smarter, too. Alex shares, “many people carry Oklahoma’s state minimum for property damage, just $25,000. But hit a car like my wife’s van, worth $40,000, and you’re personally responsible for the rest. That’s $15,000 out of pocket!” The fix? Often, it’s as little as $5 more per month to increase coverage dramatically.

In recent months, Everything Insurance has saved its clients “hundreds to thousands in premiums without reducing coverage.”

That’s not just insurance, that’s impact.

Everything Insurance Works With Medicare

But the Tarasenkos aren’t stopping at auto and home. They’re passionate about Medicare, too, especially for those living with chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease. “If you’re on Medicare and have diabetes (type 1 or 2) or any heart condition, past or present, you could qualify for extra benefits,” Alex explains.

“We’re talking dental, vision, even food and gas benefits, and part of your Medicare Part B premium is paid for.”

And the best part? You don’t have to wait until fall. “These plans are available year-round,” says Alex. “People just don’t know about them.”

Everything Insurance Makes Insurance Easier

So, whether you’re looking to protect your home, your car, or your health, Alex and Abrina Tarasenko make insurance feel a little less overwhelming—and a lot more personal. With Everything Insurance, you’re not just another policyholder. You’re a neighbor. And for them, that still means something.

ANSWERS AND ADVICE ABOUT REPLACING YOUR DRIVEWAY

For home improvements, few projects make as significant an impact as replacing your driveway. Not only does it enhance your home’s curb appeal, but it also adds value and safety to your property. Kalan Paul, owner of LCI Concrete, a trusted name in the community with 19 years of experience and over 1,300 completed driveway projects, answers some of the most common questions homeowners have about upgrading their driveways.

How Long Does It Take to Replace a Driveway?

Time is often the first concern when planning any home improvement project. The good news? LCI Concrete has efficiency down to a science.

“On an average driveway, our turnaround time is one day, and you can safely walk on it the next morning” said Paul.

How Much Does a New Driveway Cost?

Cost transparency is a big deal for homeowners, and LCI Concrete takes that seriously.

“What we quote is exactly what you’ll pay,” Paul assured. “Unless a customer asks for additional work, the price doesn’t change.” There’s also no deposit required—LCI only collects payment after the project completion and the customer is happy. This customer-first approach makes the process smooth and stress-free.

How Does a New Driveway Add Value to My Home?

A driveway isn’t just a path to your garage—it’s a first impression.

“Replacing the driveway on an average house can make it look 10 years newer,” he said. A smooth, well-designed driveway boosts curb appeal, which can attract potential buyers and even increase your home’s market price.

Plus, a new driveway improves safety by eliminating cracks and

trip hazards—a win-win for homeowners and their guests.

Tips for Choosing the Right Contractor

Paul offers some solid advice for homeowners considering a driveway replacement:

• Experience Matters: Ask how long they’ve been in business and how many projects they’ve completed. LCI boasts 19 years in business and over 1,300 driveway replacements.

• Check for Insurance: Ensure your contractor is fully insured to protect your investment.

• Look for Reviews: Positive customer feedback speaks volumes.

• Construction Quality: Always use rebar reinforcement throughout the concrete, which can, “add up to 20 years to the life of your project”.

These steps ensure you’re hiring a contractor who values quality and customer satisfaction.

Why Choose LCI Concrete?

LCI Concrete offers driveways built to last a lifetime, focusing strongly on both functionality and longevity. Backed by over 70 years of combined team experience, they bring expert craftsmanship to every project. Homeowners can also feel confident in their work by viewing over 100 past project addresses available for reference.

Around the Hollywood Campfire

Tulsa-based cabaret star Janet Rutland and author-broadcaster John Wooley return with an all-new cabaret production: Around the Hollywood Campfire.

This musical revue explores the rich legacy of Western film and television music, with selections ranging from Gene Autry and The Sons of the Pioneers to sophisticated favorites by Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer. The setlist is full of surprises—including a beautiful Top 20 hit by the New Christy Minstrels—and pays tribute to the unforgettable soundtracks of TV Westerns from the ‘50s through the ‘70s. With Janet in fine voice and John’s signature storytelling, the show combines nostalgia, warmth, and deep musicality.

They’re joined by two of Oklahoma’s finest musicians. Scott McQuade returns on piano, bringing his signature sensitivity and skill to the arrangements. Joining him is Shelby Eicher, a renowned fiddler and mandolinist best known for his 15-year tenure alongside Roy Clark and his current leadership of the Tulsa Playboys.

Broken Arrow Community Playhouse presents: Almost, Maine Welcome to Almost, Maine. This place is so far north, it is almost not in the United States. It is almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So, it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, the residents of Almost find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

MEREDITH WILLSON’S “THE MUSIC MAN”

There’s trouble in River City when a fasttalking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. Featuring songs such as “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Ya Got Trouble,” “’Till There Was You,” “Pick-a-Little” and “Gary, Indiana,” THE MUSIC MAN is a familyfriendly story to be shared.
