____________________________________________________________________________ Position Title: Student Content Creator Department: Marketing and Communications Reports To: Associate Director of Digital Media Position Summary: The content creator will play a critical role in capturing and sharing the Valpo experience through engaging, creative, and strategic content. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about storytelling, social media, and digital marketing. For students looking to go into digital marketing, content creation, or social media management, this role is a great opportunity! Key Responsibilities: Content Creation (75%) ●​ Develop engaging and authentic content for Valpo’s social media channels, including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Threads. ●​ Produce video content for both organic and paid social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives. ●​ Brainstorm and execute user-generated content (UGC) ideas that highlight the Valpo community, campus life, academics, and student experiences. ●​ Conduct interviews with students, faculty, and staff to capture stories and testimonials for digital content. ●​ Stay informed about current social media trends and apply them to content strategies. Supportive Tasks (25%) ●​ Assist with inventory management, including tracking and fulfilling merchandise requests. ●​ Perform research to support marketing initiatives and content development. ●​ Provide general support to the marketing team. ○​ Run on-campus errands to pick up/drop off materials, as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications: ●​ Current Valpo student who has completed BUS 101. ●​ Proficient in social media platforms and content creation tools. ●​ Strong communication and storytelling skills. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: ●​ Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ●​ Creative mindset with a proactive approach to idea generation. ●​ Familiarity with video production and editing software is a plus. Work Environment: ●​ This position involves both in-office and remote work and on-campus fieldwork. ●​ Flexible scheduling to accommodate class commitments and workload.
