International Admission Made Simple

Application Overview

Applying to graduate programs at Valparaiso University is simple, supportive, and designed to fit your goals. With flexible start terms and rolling admission for most programs, Valpo makes it easy to begin your next academic chapter when the time is right. It’s easy to get started:

• Explore Programs – Visit valpo.edu/graduate-studies to discover all graduate programs and certificates. Find the program that matches your goals and interests.

• Apply Online – Go to valpo.edu/apply to complete your application. It only takes a few minutes to get started.

• Send Your Transcripts – Request official transcripts from all colleges or universities you’ve attended.

• Add Your Materials – Upload your letters of recommendation, personal statement, resume or CV, and any required test scores. Great news for MBA applicants – the GMAT is not required!

• Track Your Progress – After applying, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your Valpo login so you can check your application status anytime.

• Get Support Along the Way – The graduate studies team is here to help from your first question to your first class.

English Proficiency Requirements

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Valpo encourages early applications for priority consideration and scholarship opportunities.

• Spring Semester: October 15

• Fall Semester: January 15

• Summer Semester: January 15

Some professional programs – such as physician assistant (MSPA), occupational therapy (OTD, DrOT), and doctor of nursing practice (DNP) –have earlier or fixed deadlines. Applicants should review individual program pages for details. Applications received after these dates will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency by submitting one of the following:

• General Graduate: IELTS: 6.0 TOEFL: 75 PTE: 56

• Master of Healthcare Administration (MHCA)/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL): IELTS: 6.5 TOEFL: 82 PTE: 62

• Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 110

Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to Valparaiso University. Some programs may require higher minimums or additional proof of English proficiency, so applicants should confirm requirements on their specific program page. Getting Your I-20

On average, 67% of Valpo graduate students receive scholarships, assistantships, or other forms of financial support.

Within 1–2 days of paying your enrollment deposit, you’ll receive an email titled “Submit financial document for I-20...” Follow the instructions in that email to access iValpo, where you’ll complete the required financial support form. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation, and the Office of International Programs will process your form and prepare your I-20 within three business days.
