SPEND A WEEK AS AN ENGINEER Beacon Engineering Academy: a week-long summer camp where high school students discover what engineers actually do by doing it themselves, right alongside Valpo professors and student mentors. EXPLORE ENGINEERING Every day is a new adventure: launch bottle rockets, test wings in a wind tunnel, control a robot arm, and measure the electricity in your own muscles.
WEEK-LONG PROJECT Team up all week to build something big. Past campers have designed prosthetic hands, flown payloads to the edge of space, and load-tested their own bridges.
BUILD REAL SKILLS Hack toys to make them accessible, design in CAD, or laser-cut and 3D print your ideas with professors and Valpo students right at your bench.
CAMPUS LIFE Between projects: the Esports arena, tie-dye, sports, and campus exploration. Overnight campers keep it going with residential hall life and evening fun like bonfire s’mores.
