THE BACCALAUREATE SERVICE
The Baccalaureate service is a faith-based celebration honoring Valparaiso University’s graduates. We recognize that a student’s time at Valpo is not only a period of intellectual and social growth but also one of spiritual development and intentional service.
This service is a dedicated moment to reflect on that journey. Graduates will share their personal stories of faith and service, inviting us all to consider the gifts we have received at Valpo and to give thanks to God, the source of all good things.

Campus Policies & Courtesy Guidelines
Valparaiso University is a tobacco-free campus. The use of tobacco products is prohibited on University property, except within an enclosed personal vehicle.

Restroom Facilities
Restrooms are located in the undercroft, accessible via the spiral staircase off the narthex at the southwest end of the building. The nearest accessible and family restrooms are in the narthex.

Land Acknowledgment
The Chapel of the Resurrection stands on the traditional homelands of several Indigenous peoples, most notably the Potawatomi (Bodéwadmik) Nation. This land was ceded to the United States federal authorities on October 26, 1832, through the Treaty of Tippecanoe — a cession made under duress. We acknowledge this history with gratitude and respect.
Some members of the Indigenous community resisted removal. The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi (Pokégnêk Bodéwadmik) successfully established a sovereign government in Dowagiac, Michigan, where they continue to live, work, and worship as our neighbors.
