ignon McLaughlin once said: “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person,” and what better way to fall in love again as though it were the first time and say “I do” once more, than by renewing your vows!

Renewing your marriage vows is a decision couples make together; it is a special moment dedicated to remembering why you decided to get married and look back at the life you have built together. Whether your celebration adopts a religious, civil or ancestral tone, the part that matters most is celebrating the love between two people.

The perfect moment

Here are three reason why you may wish to renew your vows:

• To commemorate a wedding anniversary. • To reaffirm your commitment after a marital crisis. • Because your first wedding was small and this time you want to celebrate on a grander scale.

Although these are the most common reasons that couples give for choosing to renew their vows, psychologist Izayana Gutiérrez Sánchez says: “There really is no one specific reason, it all depends on the marriage. Couples consider renewing their vows whenever they deem it necessary. It might be to reaffirm their commitment, give greater meaning to their marriage after a difficult time or simply to commemorate the years they have spent together. One way to choose the date is to opt for their wedding anniversary, for example.”

The Beach: A dream setting So, the date is set, and now the location for the event is another decision that the couple needs to make together. When you start to think about the setting, imagining your celebration on the beach is a magical option, and the idyllic panoramas that Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit offer make a beach setting a seductive choice. However, when is the ideal time of year to renew your vows on the beaches of the Pacific Coast? Wedding and event planner Mariana Ibarra –better known as Mar– explains that the ideal months for beachfront events in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are from October through June, to avoid any cancellations or delays to your events due to the rainy season that falls during the months of July, August and September. The sound of the waves lapping at the water’s edge, the soft tones of the sunset and the delightful weather offered by this corner of the world, provide all the elements for a unique atmosphere where celebrating

and enjoying your love and marriage will make for an unforgettable experience that makes the date all the more special.

The Preparations Preparing for a wedding and preparing for a vow renewal celebration are not so different. Both are very special events and are more similar than you may imagine. Mar Ibarra explains, “we have clients who renew their vows with just 10 guests and others who invite up to 100; how much preparation all depends on the number of people attending. The first thing the couple should consider is if the celebration will be civil, religious or symbolic. We can set up a ceremony on the beach with chairs, decorations and a table for the judge, father or minster, all depending on the type of event.” Just like a wedding, the decoration of the party will depend on the tastes of each couple. If the vow renewal is held to commemorate 25 years of marriage, Mar Ibarra recommends that the decoration be based on silver tones, or if they are celebrating a 50th anniversary, they could use golden tones. Nevertheless, “the final decision is up to the couple.” “A three-course meal or cocktail party is recommended. Generally, when there are 100 or more guests invited, a dinner is better; but, if it is more private, a cocktail party is perfect,” comments Mar Ibarra.

Once Again and Forever “Vow renewal is good for the emotional health of a couple, it brings a breath of fresh air to the relationship to renew their love. In this way, the couple takes the next step into a new phase, because it revives their interest in one another” shares Izayana Gutiérrez. Vow renewals are a great way for couples to express their continued love for one another, a time to share those important things worth telling, recognizing the positive aspects; it is the time to speak about or apologize for any difficulties they have overcome in a positive way and look to their future together. The person overseeing the vow renewal may also ask the question: “Do you still take this man/woman to be

your wedded wife/husband?” To which, “I do!” will be enough to reaffirm the commitment. Another element is the rings. Those who have grown very attached to their wedding rings may have the vow renewal date engraved on them, otherwise getting new rings for the special occasion is a popular choice. The fun part about this celebration is that it can be carried out in many ways, with or without a religious or civic ceremony, which would have already been part of the original wedding anyway. What is essential here is to chart new journeys for your marriage and intensify your excitement about still being man and wife. Mar Ibarra adds, “what we recommend to those people looking to renew their vows, for whatever reason, is that they talk about the importance of what they will be doing. It is like a second wedding, where they will be reaffirming the love they have for one another, and the party can be really special.” So, if you are planning a vow renewal, it is important to remember that this event is for the couple to treat themselves; it is confirmation of all that you have achieved and all that life has given you. The ideal gift at this event is being in the company of all those people who have been witnesses of your unconditional union, and to have a great time with them. Anytime is the right time to celebrate love, but to do so during an intimate celebration by the sea will make it an historic moment in time.

rom time to time you may need to take work home with you, but when you live by the sea, the atmosphere created by the sounds of the waves and the blues of the ocean can easily make light of those extra “office hours,” especially if you have a dedicated space for your “homework.”

While many people envy the thought of being able to work from home, it is important not to forget just how much concentration and discipline

Su Espacio Productivo en el Hogar is needed when carrying out work tasks in the comfort of your own home. To maximize your time and to aid concentration, designing a comfortable designated workspace in the home can be highly productive. Mago Torres from Rouge Casa de Diseño + Arte has some useful suggestions for making sure that your home office becomes a space in your home where style and comfort come together.

5 Key points for your home office: 1. Choose the ideal space: You can use any available room in the home for your designated workspace. Preferably, it should be a fixed space where there is enough distance between the areas where your family spend most of their time and your home office. “A successful work space will be one which is located in a quiet area of the home with plenty of fresh air to allow greater concentration and privacy, where you can keep all the things that you need to carry out your work in one place.” 2. Good lighting: The lighting, whether natural or artificial light, is of utmost importance for any interior space. “Make a note of the direction and size of the windows in the room to determine if there is enough natural light or if it will be too dark or too bright. This will guide you when choosing the ideal color scheme for your home office. If more light is needed, use soft, light colors; if the light is overly bright, balance with darker or vivid colors.” concentración y disciplina para poder cumplir nuestras metas.

The lighting will also depend on the placement and direction of your furniture, such as: desks, filing cabinets and computers; the materials and textures used for surfaces: glass, wood or metal; the type of curtains or blinds; and the amount of artificial light you decide to use. Together, these elements allow you to create the right balance for both day and night use. “With the right lighting, you can avoid bounce light and irritations such as: headaches, eyestrain, fatigue, stress, and so on.”

11

3. Appropriate furniture: Home offices are becoming ever more popular and the furniture you select should suit the needs of each person. “The main consideration is that both the desk and the chair are ergonomic and able to adapt to the size and height of the person using them so that you can work comfortably without putting strain on your knees, spine. neck and legs.” Shelves and filing cabinets can be added according to each person’s taste, the number of items to be stored and the size of the study. 4. Decoration and those personal touches: The ideal decoration for your home office would be to paint the walls of the room in light, neutral tones, adding detail with bright, vibrant objects.

13

14

“A way to make the room warm and cozy is to add your own personal touches like photographs and items that mean something to you: plants, artwork, books, fun lamps, a clock and anything that makes you feel comfortable and reflects your style.” 5. Filing and Storage: Filing cabinets, bookcases, drawers and other furniture to help store and keep your work items tidy is a key factor when designing your home office to avoid the stress that can come from disorganization and clutter. Therefore, you should select your study’s furniture according to the number of items or files you need to store. “Nowadays there are many innovative and original designs of office furniture to reflect your individual style and taste.” Another recommendation that Mago Torres offers is to remember to assess your specific needs before designing your workspace. He suggests that the best way to do this is by asking questions such as: What work will be carried out here? Will it be a permanent office or used occasionally? How much space do I need?” It is also important to distance yourself from distractions like television and avoid working in spaces intended for other uses, like working on the sofa, in the living room, at the breakfast bar, on the dining table, or in bed and so forth. By dedicating a specific space for your work, you will be able to carry out your tasks more comfortably and productively, arranging cables so they do not get tangled or become unplugged when you move your feet, making it quicker to clean too. Even the dedicated workspace within your home can be stylish, creating an atmosphere of comfort, especially when you know that once the work is done, the sun, sand and sea are just a step away for your to unwind at the end of the day.

Salsa is one such rhythm known for the elegance of its steps and the endless fun which can be had dancing it.

Salsa dancing will reveal physical abilities that you never knew you had and, most of all, bring a smile to your face while elevating your mood almost immediately. Long Live Salsa and Rhythm! Leopoldo Bocanegra, Abigail Díaz Academia Salsa Class Vallarta

10 razones para bailar salsa:

18

10 reasons to take up salsa dancing: 1. A new challenge: While salsa is certainly not a simple dance it is not impossible to learn. According to Abigail “it is a process; it takes about four months to master the basics, but if someone is eager to learn, we can help them to dance even if they have ‘two left feet’ because it is their energy and drive that inspires us to teach with even more enthusiasm.” Effort and a positive attitude are contagious, and are an essential part of the solution when you don’t know how to dance. All you need is commitment and to be carried away by the music. 2. An alternative form of exercise: It is important to keep our bodies moving, and dancing is a great alternative way to keep fit; and the best part is that it doesn’t matter how old you are. Any time is the right time to start dancing. “Exercise or any form of physical activity is essential for the body’s well being,” says Leopoldo Bocanegra, “and what better form of exercise than dancing, which is not only enjoyable but works the whole body and even the mind?” Dancing salsa can become the perfect addition to a healthy lifestyle, improving your heart rate and increasing your energy levels while also helping you to lose weight. 3. Improves your emotional health: It is a well known fact that happiness levels tend to rise after performing physical activity or exercise because the body produces hormones such as dopamine and endorphins. All that dancing has to do is activate those hormones and voila - smiles and happiness all around! “We always say how the classes are for relaxing and enjoying, where you can leave your stresses behind, dedicating an hour to yourself to concentrate on something different, and that helps a lot,” shares Leopoldo Bocanegra. 4. Break the routine: When surrounded by the sounds of the Caribbean and smiles in a cheerful atmosphere, it is easy to see how you can break the routine. An hour of relaxation never did anyone any harm, and as Leopoldo adds, “breaking the routine is really good for us. Making small changes to our daily schedules allows us to disconnect for a while. When looking at it like that, dancing is great therapy.”

19

Long Live Salsa and Rhythm! lo lograrían.

20

5. Improved confidence: “We have had students that arrive with some inhibitions, because they were made to feel as though they would never be able to dance when they were young. Some people arrive and they are really insecure; but dancing salsa turns their life around and soon they can dance with anyone. As we said before, learning to dance salsa is a process that when practiced regularly will give you more and more confidence. We feel really proud when we watch those people whom everyone else thought would never make it, dance with confidence,” Leopoldo recalls. 6. Determination and perseverance become your allies: New steps, new choreography and socializing with your dancing partners motivate you to keep practicing. “A lot of people swear they will never be able to dance, but their determination drives them to stay with it, even when they are lagging behind the rest of the class;” Abigail comments, “those are the students that really motivate us because we know they are on the right track.” 7. Social life: Dancing is both a physical and a sociable activity that creates strong ties and friendships. Abigail and Leopoldo have even known cases where neighbors living in the same street have met for the first time in their salsa class; and there are those students who have begun to throw their own salsa parties, which are in addition to those that the school organize each month for students to practice their newly learned steps and to get together. “Whether it is at the J & B dance club or Maluk restaurant, every month we organize a party for our students and anyone else who wants to join us to dance, have fun and have a great time together as a group. The simple truth is that we really get on with our students and vice versa; it is like we are mutually supportive. In the world of salsa dancing you make really good friends” adds Abigail. 8. Dancing salsa is rejuvenating: “Dancing is rejuvenating and improves your motor skills and coordination; it also develops your sense of improvisation. For example, when you perform combination steps, you automatically have to think about the next step, so improvisation also helps to exercise the memory,” explains Leopoldo. Anyone of any age can dance and enjoy all the health benefits that this physical activity offers. 9.

A 46-mile drive from Puerto Vallarta takes you along the winding mountain roads of Jalisco’s Sierra Madre Occidental to “San Sebas,” as it is affectionately known by locals, on a journey towards an enchanting town whose cool climate preserves within its walls Mexico’s distinct traditions and an exquisite blend of nature with both mountain and colonial style architecture.

n the road into the mountains, surrounded by cloudscapes, lies a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) where the expression “having your head in the clouds” can be truly experienced: the legendary San Sebastián del Oeste.

Honoring a martyr As is the case in other parts of the world, San Sebastián del Oeste takes its name from Saint Sebastian the Martyr. Sebastian was a soldier in the Roman army stationed in Milan who was sentenced to death by Emperor Diocletian because of his Christian faith. He was tied to a tree before being shot numerous times in a shower of arrows. Following the execution, he was presumed dead, but when his friends noticed that he was still alive, they took him to the house of a Roman Christian called Irene, where he remained until he was fully recovered. Healthy again, he returned to Milan around 288 CE in order to reprimand the emperor for persecuting Christians, which resulted in Diocletian ordering his soldiers to whip Sebastian to death, making sure they did not make a mistake that time. The worship of Saint Sebastian is a very old tradition; he is prayed to for protection from disease and from the enemies of the Catholic-Christian religion. His feast day is on January 20th and he has been depicted by many artists such as Botticelli, El Greco (Doménikos Theotókopoulos), Raphael Sanzio, Mattia Preti, among others. The second part of the town’s name “del Oeste” (west) represents its location in Jalisco.

A magical town brimming with stories

These towns offer fresh, distinct alternatives for enjoying Mexico. San Cristóbal de la Casas in Chiapas, Cholula in Puebla, Mapimí in Durango, Huichapan in Hidalgo are among the 111 designated “pueblos mágicos” in México. San Sebastián del Oeste is one of seven pueblos mágicos in the state of Jalisco to have preserved, treasured and protected its history, its customs and its natural areas. “It is a town with authentic stories and traditions that are an essential part of preserving its magic,” explains Margarito Salcedo, the head of tourism in San Sebastián. The town is mainly

El culto a San Sebastián Mártir es muy antiguo y su fiesta se celebra cada 20 de enero. comprised of historic haciendas, century-old houses and antiquated mines. Margarito Salcedo shares that the main charm of the town is its colonial architecture, “the stories that it holds dearly, its cobblestone streets, the natural beauty of its surroundings, like the mountains that watch over the town, and, of course, the friendliness and warmth of the people who live here.” According to Mr. Salcedo, the town’s climate is very pleasant and cool. It gets cold during the months from December through March, but for the rest of the year the lowest average temperature is around 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

How to get to “San Sebas” When driving from Puerto Vallarta to San Sebastián, you should head north on Highway 70 until you reach Las Palmas, then take the right-hand lane and continue. You can also take an organized tour which includes transport from Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit.

Here are some things to consider before traveling according to Mr. Salcedo:

• A good camera is recommended for saving all those great memories and special moments.

• If you have to be back by a certain time, it is better to take your own car; however, if you do not have any time restrictions, public transport is another good option. • When making the journey in your own car, you should ensure your vehicle is fit for the drive before you leave. • If you are coming from a warm climate, remember that the weather in San Sebastian is very pleasant but cold, so you should bring warm comfortable clothing with you, especially in the winter months.

• Binoculars are a great way to make sure you don’t miss any of the details.

And… what about staying the night? “Of course, it is possible to stay overnight in San Sebastian. We have several hotels and cabins; most establishments are small, but altogether we have the capacity to accommodate up to 330 people,” says Mr. Salcedo. Here are some of the hotels where you could stay:

The Magic of San Sebastián del Oeste 1.

Activities such as guided tours, ATV rentals, horseback riding, visiting orchards and more are just some of the pastimes that will ensure you have an amazing adventure in San Sebastián. Here are the top 5 things you really shouldn’t miss here: 1. Visit the Hacienda Jalisco: Built in the nineteenth century, this was one of the main haciendas that controlled most of the mining activity in the area between 1785 and 1921, where you can still see mining artefacts. 2. Hike El Cerro de La Bufa: As mentioned at the beginning, in San Sebastian it is possible to feel like you have your head in the clouds, and La Bufa peak will certainly make this a reality. Its summit sits at 8,000 ft above sea level and is a real challenge to reach. However, the reward for your efforts is an unrivalled panoramic view of Banderas Bay “a view from the heavens” if the sky is clear; if not, enjoy the sensation of having your head in the clouds! 3. The Temple of San Sebastian: A beautiful religious building dating from the seventeenth century located in the town center.

4. La Quinta: This is a nineteenth century farm located just as you enter San Sebastián. On this farm they grow and produce organic coffee from the highlands.

La magia del pueblo…

5. Santa Gertrudis Mine: Nearly 150 years old, this mine is located about 1.2 miles from the town center. Its entrance is 6 ft high and 5.5 ft wide, and is approximately 197 ft deep making an almost perfect straight line into the ground.

Don’t forget to try the exquisite organic coffee and the delicious raicilla which is made from the lechuguilla agave cactus as well as the chocoraíz (chocolate with raicilla) offered at the El Fortin restaurant.

hen we think of Asian cuisine, we tend to think of an exotic spectacle of textures blended together to form exquisite culinary contrasts. While we may generalize by using a concept such as “Asian cuisine” or “Eastern flavors” to refer to the wide range of delicacies from such a vast continent, it is important to remember the distinct culinary magic that distinguishes each country in the region rather than stereotype them.

Indian food is a clear example of the way that each region has its own individual charm and history, its dishes having been influenced by other nations like China and Portugal which once formed part of India’s history. Nevertheless, besides the wealth of cultural exchanges experienced throughout time, it is the country’s rich spices and succulent dishes full of ritual and flavor that have made Indian cuisine famous on an international scale.

The Magic of Spice India is home to more than 1,600 different spices, which are the secret behind the culinary legacy that Indian cuisine has shared with the world: the famous masala. One of the best known masalas is the world famous curry. Despite the fact that many people use the name “curry” to refer generally to all types of masalas, curry is actually just one variety; and those who have perfected the art of cooking masala can delight you with any number of delicious dishes. If you are looking for a great restaurant in Puerto Vallarta where you will find an explosion of authentic Indian flavors on the menu, India Gate is a restaurant located just half a block from Puerto Vallarta’s Malecon. Gilberto Castillo Campo, India Gate’s Restaurant manager explains, “what distinguishes Indian food is the curry or masala. The sauces are the true base of all Indian food. At India Gate, for example, we offer popular dishes such as Butter Chicken, which is chicken breast in a sauce prepared with tomato, butter and spices; or Chicken Korma, which is chicken served in a creamy masala

35

made from almond, coconut and cashew nuts. It really is the masala, or curry as it is often referred to, that delights the palate.”

Vegetarian Flavors Within its extensive repertoire, Indian cuisine features a wide range of vegetarian dishes; you will find that Indian vegetable dishes can excite the palates of even the most discerning diners. Take your taste buds on an adventure and discover just how vegetables can be transformed into authentic aromatic dishes packed with delicious flavors; whether steamed, baked, parboiled or fried, the vegetables retain both their nutrients and their flavor. “Our vegetarian dishes are very popular; one of the most popular is the Vegetable Pakora (sometimes called bhaji), which is made from fried spinach and onions mixed with spices and served with tamarind sauce. It is a really delicious dish,” says Gilberto Castillo. Another delicious specialty of Indian food is dhal, which is a term in India that refers to dried pulses such as lentils, beans or peas, and can also be used to describe stews or soups made with pulses. The four most common varieties of dahl are: Dhal Tarkari, made from pureed soya with vegetables; Gujarati Urad Dhal, prepared with yogurt and spices; Yagannath Puri Channe Ki Dhal, which is a sweet chickpea soup; and Dhal soup, which you can order at the India Gate Restaurant, which is a lightly seasoned lentil soup. Dhal is a favorite among vegetarians, especially when served with some naan bread, because of its nutritious value and its unique flavor that is achieved by the combination of spices used in its preparation.

36

When it comes to rice, besides being a staple food for more than half of the world’s population, Indian cuisine offers a number of different ways of preparing it, which can vary greatly depending

on how it is cooked or by mixing the rice with other grains, nuts, vegetables or paneer (milk curd cheese which is a little like queso fresco in Mexico).

In India, the meals are usually served on a thali, which is a round tray made of silver, copper or stainless steel. All the dishes are served together on the tray along with the katoris (small bowls) for the liquid dishes such as dahls and the yogurt.

The Hookah: Another Tradition

Basmati rice, whose grains are long and thin are considered ideal for savory dishes in Indian cuisine, while pulau rice, whose grains are rounded and medium in length, is recommended for sweet dishes. “In Indian cuisine, each dish is well balanced, especially accompanied by basmati rice, which is delicious when prepared with species,” Gilberto adds.

Now you have the chance to experience the hookah in Puerto Vallarta at a new place in town called the Shisha Bar and Lounge. René Rivera the bar’s manager explains: “The owner is of Indian origin and he saw the opportunity to offer this kind of service to those who like to smoke shisha, flavored tobacco, and that is how the concept arrived to the port.” Hookahs or narghiles are elegant and refined water pipes made from cut glass and carved metal. Although it is not known exactly where the practice of smoking hookahs first began, what is known is that the hookah is an ancient instrument that is believed to date from the Safavid Persian dynasty from 1501 to 1736. There are four parts to a shisha or hookah:

• The top, where the bowl sits with the tobacco and coal. • The glass base where you add the water.

37

• The gasket, which connects the top part where the tobacco is placed with the base full of water, and the valve which purges the air inside the hookah. • The pipe, from where you smoke the steam that is released. Shisha is the name of the flavored tobacco that is smoked through the hookah; it is a special type of tobacco that is washed before being mixed with molasses or honey and infused with different flavors such as strawberry, mango, mint, blackberry, among others. Although the hookah in the West is more popular among young people, in India, smoking the hookah is an important tradition to be respected, and is considered appropriate for any adult. How harmful smoking the hookah is for your health in comparison to traditional cigarettes is still under debate, and it is important to remember that the responsibility lies with the person who decides to partake in this pastime.

Eastern Delights on the Bay If you are looking for an evening packed full of flavor and opportunities to discover new culinary adventures, India Gate restaurant has the perfect solution just a few steps from the Malecon. “The dishes we offer at this restaurant are completely different to what you might expect from other cuisines; if you have never tried Indian food, it is important to keep an open mind to these new flavors so that you can enjoy them to the full,” shares Gilberto Castillo. Another great way to enjoy the flavors of the East in Banderas Bay is at the Shisha Bar and Lounge, a place where loud music will not interrupt your cozy conversations

and where you can discover the wonders of the hookah, trying one of its many different tobacco flavors you will find there. “We have approximately twenty flavors, five of which contain regular amounts of nicotine with the remaining fifteen varieties containing lower levels. It is worth remembering that although the hookah is our specialty, visitors do not have to consume the shisha; the intention of the lounge is to share a small part of Indian culture with Puerto Vallarta while at the same time creating a space where people can enjoy a pleasant evening. For those people who have never tried the hookah before, we will gladly show them how to use it and answer any questions.” Discover the flavors of the East in the port and embrace your sense of adventure for a pleasant encounter with something new.

estaurant Week is a culinary initiative that was first launched in New York City 19 years ago, which has since been adopted and celebrated by more than a hundred different cities around the world, including Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit. In 2005, with Paco Ojeda as event coordinator, Restaurant Week arrived to the bay thanks to Grupo Editorial Vallarta Lifestyles —the same publishing group that manages MySB— with every intention of offering the region a culinary event similar to that organized in New York which would allow the general public to experience the latest trends in gourmet cuisine. Therefore, May 15th to May 31st became the perfect time of year to discover new flavors and share the best of the cuisine found on the Pacific Coast.

Accessible gastronomy This culinary event is focused on offering locals and visitors a chance to enjoy a luxurious gourmet dining experience at affordable prices; two whole weeks to discover the very best cuisine and

delectable flavors waiting to be savored and enjoyed by you at the best restaurants in the region. Restaurant Week is a laidback, simple event, without specific schedules or special guests, where the most important element is that diners experience an unprecedented culinary adventure. Restaurants in the area receive an open invitation to participate each year, and those that choose to be involved will adjust their prices to match the promotions that Restaurant Week offers. Paco Ojeda shares: “Every restaurant chooses the times when the special menu will be available; some restaurants offer the promotion from lunchtime, while others for dinner only.” The cost of the special menus for 2016 will be $229 and $349 per person according to the restaurant you choose, which does not include drinks or tips. Throughout its 12 year history in Puerto Vallarta, Restaurant Week has become an important promotional tool for Banderas Bay, highlighting the importance of gastronomy for the destination. According to Paco Ojeda,

Mayo: el mes del sabor

May: the month of good taste

When this “restaurant event intended to pamper your palate” was held for the first time, May was considered low season for tourism in Puerto Vallarta. Today, even though the tourism industry is full of surprises and constant changes that bring unexpected highs, there is still a great difference between May and the subsequent months of July and August. Restaurant Week therefore has the intention of activating the flow of tourism and restaurant activity during this time.

“Nowadays, the month of May hosts a number of other festivals and has become a really busy month,” expresses Paco Ojeda, “Besides Restaurant Week, Puerto Vallarta celebrates the anniversary of the city and municipality, and there is the Vallarta Botanical Gardens Bugambilia Festival and Gay Pride, among others; really we form part of a series of month-long events that have benefited the city.”

Eat, share and enjoy! This gourmet event features a wide variety of different cuisines including: international selections, traditional Mexican, Asian, signature dishes and more. Archie’s Wok, Cafe des Artistes, Daiquiri Dick’s, Arrayan, the River Café and Trio are some of the restaurants that have participated in every edition of this event so far. Provençal snails baked with butter and garlic, and delicious rainbow trout in Dijon mustard with pumpkin risotto and red wine sauce, are just some of the delicacies that can be found on the extensive menu. Paco Ojeda provides the following great recommendation for how to fully enjoy these two wonderful weeks of culinary delights: 1. “Check the list of participating restaurants at www.vallartalifestyles.com.” Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week: Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit 1.

provides a list of all the participating restaurants online, which is also provided in a PDF format that can be downloaded for easy reference when needed. Here you will find the full menu for each of the restaurants as well, so that you can decide which ones are the perfect choices to pamper your palate. 2. “Make a note of the restaurants that interest you and make a reservation if necessary.” With your table reserved, a full stomach and a happy heart, it will be no wonder that you want to enjoy this culinary adventure every year.

3. “Share the experience with your friends.” They will surely appreciate knowing about this event, and what better way to enjoy great food than by sharing it as a group. Restaurant Week can become a tradition with your friends and family.

Without a doubt, Restaurant Week is the event of the year that is set to delight your palate and become one more reason why you should spend May in Banderas Bay.
