The Academy of 21st Century Learning is thrilled to announce its 6th Annual Literacy Awareness Night, taking place on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM (PDT) at 3333 Vaca Valley Parkway, Suite 800, Vacaville, CA 95688. This free community event promises an exciting evening dedicated to promoting early literacy for children and young adults from kindergarten through high school. Event Highlights: Families are invited to engage in a wide variety of activities, including: Bookmark Creation Station – Craft your own personalized bookmark. Free Library Card Sign-Up & Book Giveaway – Courtesy of the Solano County Library. Scholastic Book Fair – Shop for your favorite books and support literacy initiatives. Special Guests and Presenters: Kristen Murray, Solano County Library Guest Author Readings: Patricia Boaasno – Reading selections from Entre Duendes y Ratones and Cuentan mis Estrellas, both winners of the Firebird Book Award and Literary Titan Silver Book Award Ryan Rucker – Guest reading of Is This Your Favorite Ice Cream? This is a FREE event, but space is limited. Families are encouraged to register early to reserve their spot. Leadership Vacaville is a personal and professional development program designed to cultivate informed, engaged, and skilled community and business leaders.
Kickoff Event
Participants come from diverse backgrounds, work roles, and experiences to expand their core leadership competencies while learning about their community and how to make positive impacts on society. Program sessions provide insight on different areas of city governance and local industry from leaders in each area, creating the deeper competency needed to truly understand Vacaville and its surrounding communities. Classeswill be heldfromOctober 2025 through June 2026 on the 2ndThursday of each month. Each class is a full day, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Participants are expected to attend all program sessions. Class size is limited.
Tuition: $1,500 Vacaville Chamber Members, $1,900 Non-Members Tuition covers program materials, class sessions, lunches, and field trip transportation. (Some independent transportation may be required.) Application deadline: September 5, 2025
