Did you know that 1 in 8 seniors 65 and older in Solano County are living with Alzheimer’s disease and countless more with other dementias? Nationwide, over 6 million people are currently affected, which is expected to triple by 2050. Held annually in more than 600 communities across the country, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Our mission is to end Alzheimer's and all dementia. The 2022 Solano County Walk will be on October 22nd at Harbor Plaza in Suisun City. With the support of our partner, Solano Library, we invite you to join us for our 3rd Annual Literacy Awareness Event in the Nut Tree Plaza in Vacaville, California. Join us for an opportunity to bring awareness of the importance of early literacy and sign up for a library card! There will even be a table where you can make your very own bookmark. We will have local authors providing book readings and best of all, if you bring a book, you will be able to take a book home in our children's book exchange.
