This weekend is especially significant as we celebrate the 100th Supercars Championship race held at Symmons Plains Raceway, only the second circuit in Australia to reach this milestone.
It’s a testament to the deep and enduring relationship between Supercars and Tasmania, built on passionate fans, strong partnerships and a shared love of racing.

Our return as naming rights partner continues a long-standing relationship with Supercars and the Tasmanian community, with Tyrepower having proudly supported this iconic event for many years.

Broc Feeney arrives in Tasmania with a slender 23-point championship lead over Brodie Kostecki and, as we’ve already seen this season, nothing can be taken for granted once the racing starts.

Welcome to what is going to be one of the most wide-open Repco Supercars Championship seasons in recent history.
Repco enters its sixth season as the naming rights holder, which has seen a period of much change, highlighted by the Gen3 regulations implemented at the beginning of 2023, the all-new finals system last year, and in 2026, the emergence of a brand-new player.
When the Supercars grid lines up in Sydney, Toyota enters the fray with five Supras – the first time that the all-conquering Japanese brand will compete in Supercars.
On top of this, Triple Eight Race Engineering will return to the Ford camp, and a crop of fast young rookies will try to make their mark on the category.
Yeah ... there’s a lot to take in.
Reigning champion Chaz Mostert brings the #1 to Toyota, leading a five-strong contingent of the highly anticipated Supras, split between Walkinshaw TWG Racing and Brad Jones Racing. It’s a bold new world for Mostert and the Toyota tribe, but if we know one thing about Toyota, it won’t settle for being second-best for too long.
An expanded 14-round season begins under the bright lights at Sydney Motorsport Park and ends at the exciting bp Grand Final

The big change is that Supercars will race twice in New Zealand as part of a doubleheader, with Taupō joined by Ruapuna near Christchurch on the South Island.
These two New Zealand circuits join the likes of Hidden Valley, Wanneroo, The Bend and the prestigious Repco Bathurst 1000.
The on-track Supercars action is what we all come for, and at Repco, we’re always aiming to go over and above for our fans. Look out for more cool fan initiatives at the circuit, including our famous fleet of cars.
And while we focus on the future with Supercars, you’ll see Repco tip its hat during the year to Sir Jack Brabham, who 60 years ago, won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship. Powered by a Repcodeveloped engine, Brabham became the first and, likely, last driver to win the title in a car bearing their own name.
Trying to predict a title winner out of 25 of the best drivers from this part of the world is tough, and the Finals format makes it almost impossible!

Welcome to all Tasmanian Supercar fans! What a weekend it’ll be as 30,000 passionate race fans fill the hill to watch all the adrenalin-filled action.
We know this event ignites the passion for motorsport across Tasmania, with some of the most passionate and knowledgeable motorsport fans in the country calling this place home.
The Tasmanian Government has been supporting this event since 1995.
More than one million fans have attended Supercars events at Symmons Plains in that time.
We look forward to welcoming many more in the years to come.
That’s why, last year, the Tasmanian Government secured this event for a further three years until 2027 with a $4.15m investment.
The Supercars Championship is one of Tasmania’s premier sporting events,
attracting thousands of fans and generating millions of dollars in economic benefit for local businesses.
I love that Supercars are visiting more of our regions this year, after launching race week in Devonport. It was a fantastic opportunity to get up close to the cars and meet some of the drivers.
More than 20,000 interstate and international visitors are expected to attend this event over the deal’s lifetime, providing substantial economic and social benefits to the state.
If you’re visiting from interstate, I would also encourage you to soak up as many Tasmanian offerings as possible. You’ve got the natural beauty of the Gorge in Launnie, great whiskey in Bicheno and plenty of hiking options for a perfect day trip nearby.

DELIVERING ACTION
The V8 SuperUtes is a class going from strength to strength, with deep fields turning on the thrills in machinery that resonates with the masses.
the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series continues to grow in popularity around Australia, with full fields turning in action-packed racing.
While the on-track action from the category is forever a crowd favourite, perhaps the strongest suit of the category is the familiarity of the vehicles with the fanbase - the sales chart-topping dual-cab segment of the marketplace now has true relevancy on the racetrack.
Picture an angry pack featuring the Isuzu D-MAX against the Mazda BT-50, Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Mitsubishi Triton and Holden Colorado – it’s a recipe bound to redraw battle lines in the grandstands and car park.
While the category originated in 2018, it truly came of age in 2021, when it ushered in its V8-powered era, and competitor
numbers surged.
Despite the various vehicles involved in the class, a long list of spec components under the skin of the V8 SuperUtes helps ensure a level playing field across the different marques.
A 6.2-litre V8 powerplant is paired with a six-speed transmission, featuring a range of standardised driveline components that simplify competitors’ operations.
Big Brembo brakes provide stopping power, while low-profile Yokohama tyres and a lowered ride height have added to the sporting credentials of the package.
Now in its eighth season, the 2026 season is shaping up as a classic.
Following a tight 2024 season, which went down to the wire on the streets of Adelaide, with victory going the way of popular West Australian Adam Marjoram,
David Sieders sealed the 2025 title at Sandown by only seven points over Marjoram.
All told, eight different drivers made visits to the podium last season, with a experienced hands set to be challenged this year by a fresh crop of emerging talent, eager to make a point.
The 2026 schedule for the class sees the category return to the Dunlop Sydney 500, before heading south to Tasmania and Symmons Plains Raceway, before a trip across the Nullarbor Plain to MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway, and then Mount Panorama, for the Repco Bathurst 1000 event.
The season is then rounded out by a return to street circuits, with the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and the bp Adelaide Grand Final. ■
HEAVY METAL BATTLE
The Touring Car Masters continues to be a crowd favourite at circuits around Australia, with familiar faces pushing big bad V8s to the limits.
the Touring Car Masters Series is continuing its resurgence in 2026, with the ever-popular class bringing together an eclectic mix of memorable muscle cars.
Rolling out with a six-round national tour, TCM combines classic metal from the 1970s and ‘80s, bringing back big memories from the Group C era and beyond.
Taking centre stage will once again be the battle of blue versus red, with Ford’s finest taking on the best General Motors has to offer, with a field drawn from both home-grown Aussie-manufactured muscle cars, and the big, brash iron stemming from Detroit’s Pony Car scene.
In the Ford corner, expect entrants from the early generations of Mustang, plus Falcon’s fastest, extending from early XY GTHO models to more contemporary XDs, which starred in touring car circles at the turn of the 1980s.
Wearing Chevrolet’s Bowtie proudly will be examples such as the Camaro and Monza, while Holden fans will rejoice in the best from the Torana and Commodore nameplates.
A left field addition to the ranks is typically the Tilley family’s Valiant Pacer, which provides a proverbial cat among the pigeons from the Mopar ranks.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this mix is that the category’s rules are designed to see performance equalised on track, which paves the way for cars from different eras to be competitive on any given weekend.
Since the category’s inception in 2007, it has earned an impressive honour roll, including five-time champion John Bowe, four-time victor Steven Johnson, and two-time winner Jim Richards.
Last year, the title was secured by Joel Heinrich, after a string of standout
performances in his Whiteline Racingprepared Camaro.
Keep an eye out for additional machinery to join the Touring Car Masters field in 2026, with some exciting new builds in progress.
Weekend formats feature an emphasis on racing action, with a reverse grid Trophy Race kicking off each round, followed by three short, sharp sprint races, culminating in an overall round winner.
The 2026 season comprises six rounds, kicking off with the Dunlop Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park, then Symmons Plains Raceway and the streets of Townsville for the NTI Townsville 500.
August will see a return to Sydney for the Australian Muscle Car Masters, before linking back up with the Repco Supercars Championship for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the Bathurst TCM Grand Finale at the Repco Bathurst 1000. ■
2026 TOURING CAR MASTERS, ROUND 2

The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series always turns on a large spectacle, even if the cars are small in size…
Apack of angry ants or pint-sized racers, call them what you will, but the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series is a must-see part of the support category action at the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440.
Around half the scale of the road-going counterparts, Aussie Racing Cars have been developed over time to provide fast, close racing.
While the spec underpinnings of the machines ensure even competition, a range of different body styles have been developed for the class, giving competitors the freedom to support the marque of their choosing.
For the nostalgia buffs, there’s the 1940 Ford and FJ Holden reproductions, to the more contemporary Ford Falcon, Holden
Commodore and Cruze, Toyota Aurion, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Elantra, Euro GT, Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang - there truly is something for everyone in the mix of available body styles.
While a tightly controlled parity process has seen the cars evenly matched in terms of lap times, the Mustang has proven to be a popular choice amongst series champions in recent times, with Joel Heinrich, Josh Anderson and Justin Ruggier claiming titles, while Kody Garland on top of the pandemicshortened 2021 season, as well as last year's pointscore.
Up front, propelling the machines is a motorcycle-derived 1.3-litre, 135 BHP twin-cam 16 valve engine that revs to 11,500 RPM, while the total package tips the
scales at only 500kg, resulting in a potent power-to-weight ratio.
In a change for the category, chassis are now being produced by Triple Eight Race Engineering, with the first example debuting last year.
This season's Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series will be once again held over seven rounds, with at least five contested at Repco Supercars Championship events spread around the country.
The schedule kicked off at Mount Panorama at the Bathurst 6 Hour meet, before visiting Symmons Plains, the Townsville Street Circuit, Queensland Raceway, Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend, with the final event of the season to be announced. ■

It has become a unique fixture on the Symmons Plains undercard – the Tassie Tin Tops continues to draw together an eclectic assortment from across the motorsport spectrum.
Ahe full field of cars is set to hit Symmons Plains Raceway when the Tassie Tin Tops return to the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 undercard from May 22-24.
The popular support class brings together a mix of vehicles from various classes, and the concept also attracts entries from the mainland.
The category showcases close, hard-fought racing featuring a variety of productionbased sedans, making it a fan favourite among local motorsport supporters.
Running alongside the Supercars category provides a rare opportunity for Tasmanian drivers and teams to compete before a national audience.
“We’re incredibly excited to have Duggan
Family Hotels on board as our naming rights sponsor,” said Troy Wood, Tassie Tin Tops spokesperson.
“Their support helps elevate the category and gives our competitors the chance to showcase Tasmanian motorsport on one of the biggest stages in the country.”

The entry is also a marked improvement over the class’s most recent hit out in 2024, when only 16 cars made it onto the track.
Amongst the cars that are set to feature at the front of the field will be Duggan’s Aston Martin Sports Sedan, with stiff competition set to come from local favourite Brad Sherriff’s Nissan R34 Skyline Sports Sedan.
Tony Auddino has entered his ex-Stone Brothers Racing BF Falcon, while Ben Newman will be in the mix in his McLaren 570S GT4.
Josh Barwick (Nissan Skyline R32) and Ben Purtell (Nissan 180SX) were both at the head of the Tin Top field in 2024.
One car to keep an eye out for is Dave Walker’s Datsun 1200 Ute! ■
