A very warm welcome to Queensland Raceway and the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440. The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship continues to deliver incredible competition, and this weekend marks a pivotal moment in the season as we reach the final event of the Repco Supercars Sprint Cup. The championship leader at the end of this weekend will take top honours in the Sprint Cup, earning them an automatic berth in the Repco Supercars Finals Series and thereby adding further intensity and intrigue to what promises to be a thrilling weekend. After a resounding return to Ipswich in 2025, this year we welcome the largest Supercars grid at Queensland Raceway in more than a decade. Three teams will field wildcard entries, lifting the grid to an impressive 27 cars. Queenslanders Ben Gommersall and Bayley Hall are set to make their Supercars debuts, while third generation racer Aaron Seton returns for Matt Stone Racing, again competing in the classic colour scheme that evokes his father Glenn’s title winning entries from the early 1990s. Fittingly, Glenn will also make a special appearance at Queensland Raceway with one of the original Ford Falcons he drove to championship success, bringing some

historic Australian touring car flavour to the weekend. With a growing field and the fierce racing we’ve witnessed throughout 2026, fans can expect one of the most exciting events of the season at a circuit that always presents a challenge for the teams and drivers. A range of spectator entertainment and experiences, from driver interactions to paddock access, will also serve as an ideal complement to the on-track action. Ipswich holds a special place in our sport. It is home to some of our most passionate and dedicated enthusiasts, and we always enjoy returning to Queensland Raceway to engage with the heartland of Supercars, and the people who continue to make the sport such a special championship. Welcome to what is going to be one of the most wide-open Repco Supercars Championship seasons in recent history. Repco enters its sixth season as the naming rights holder, which has seen a period of much change, highlighted by the Gen3 regulations implemented at the beginning of 2023, the all-new finals system last year, and in 2026, the emergence of a brand-new player. When the Supercars grid lines up in Sydney, Toyota enters the fray with five Supras – the first time that the all-conquering Japanese brand will compete in Supercars. On top of this, Triple Eight Race Engineering will return to the Ford camp, and a crop of fast young rookies will try to make their mark on the category. Yeah ... there’s a lot to take in. Reigning champion Chaz Mostert brings the #1 to Toyota, leading a five-strong contingent of the highly anticipated Supras, split between Walkinshaw TWG Racing and Brad Jones Racing. It’s a bold new world for Mostert and the Toyota tribe, but if we know one thing about Toyota, it won’t settle for being second-best for too long. An expanded 14-round season begins under the bright lights at Sydney Motorsport Park and ends at the exciting bp Grand Final

in Adelaide. The big change is that Supercars will race twice in New Zealand as part of a doubleheader, with Taupō joined by Ruapuna near Christchurch on the South Island. These two New Zealand circuits join the likes of Hidden Valley, Wanneroo, The Bend and the prestigious Repco Bathurst 1000. The on-track Supercars action is what we all come for, and at Repco, we’re always aiming to go over and above for our fans. Look out for more cool fan initiatives at the circuit, including our famous fleet of cars. And while we focus on the future with Supercars, you’ll see Repco tip its hat during the year to Sir Jack Brabham, who 60 years ago, won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship. Powered by a Repcodeveloped engine, Brabham became the first and, likely, last driver to win the title in a car bearing their own name. Trying to predict a title winner out of 25 of the best drivers from this part of the world is tough, and the Finals format makes it almost impossible! On behalf of every Repco crew member, we’ll be watching the Supercars season along with you because we have petrol in our veins and we can’t wait to catch up with you all at the track!

For over two decades, the Porsche Carrera Cup has pitted the brightest young talents against seasoned pros in equal equipment.

ypically, at this end of the lifecycle of a one-make category, numbers begin to peter out. Not in Porsche Equity‑One Carrera Cup Australia. In 2026, the class is at its very best, with bumper fields rolling out around the country, mixing professionals with the best pro-am drivers the motorsport ranks have to offer. At the front of the field, Harri Jones has been there and won that in Porsche competition – he has twice won the Carrera Cup title in Australia and has raced extensively internationally, including in the Formula 1-supporting Porsche Supercup. That said, competition is fierce at the top. Dylan O'Keeffe is back to defend his title from last year, while highly experienced racers like Aaron Love and Glen Wood are forever in the mix. A surprise packet who has stepped up to

the mark this season is Clay Osborne, who has won multiple races to date. The category has been a fixture on these shores since 2003 and has proven to be a star factory for talent that has levelled up, both here and abroad. Take, for instance, Matt Campbell, who won the 2016 Australian Carrera Cup title before rising through the professional Porsche pyramid to the heights of prototype racing. Next year he takes a leap of faith to join the ranks of being a Ford factory driver in international competition, which will perhaps open the door for him to return to Bathurst for the 12 Hour and the 1000. Looking at the grid for this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000, there has been ample talent developed in the Carrera Cup ranks. Exhibit A is 2021 champion Cameron Hill, who is now at the forefront of Brad Jones Racing’s Toyota Supra tilt.

Fabian Coulthard won the Porsche title in 2005, while David Reynolds rose to the top in 2007. Others with Carrera Cup experience include Matt Payne, Nick Percat, Cooper Murray, David Russell, and Craig Lowndes. If you enjoy this year’s field, next year is shaping up to be even better. The upcoming 992.2-spec model’s 4.0-litre six-cylinder heart will produce even more power, with other front-end improvements set to add downforce, increase responsiveness, and lower repair costs. Early overseas adopters of the platform have seen a continuation of the staunch racing for which the marque is famous. From here, the Porsches head to the Repco Bathurst 1000, then to the concrete canyon of Surfers Paradise's streets, before rounding out the season at the bp Adelaide Grand Final. ■

The stars of tomorrow race here. The Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup returns in 2026 with big fields and fantastic racing.

he Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup remains a leading attraction on the Repco Supercars Championship undercard, featuring the best and brightest talent in the motorsport pipeline competing in identical equipment. At the start of the 2024 season, a brand-new model GR86 made its racing debut on the streets of Townsville, which has proven to continue the category’s tradition of ultra-tight racing that breeds the future stars of the sport. Built by longtime Toyota partner Neal Bates Motorsport, the latest-generation machine features more power and less weight than its predecessor, and despite faster lap times, racing has continued to be spectacular. If history is anything to go by, the stars of the future will be racing in front of you this weekend. In 2016, Will Brown secured the inaugural

Australian Toyota 86 Racing Series title with seven wins from 14 races, a feat that marked the beginning of his subsequent rise up the motorsport ranks, culminating in his victory in the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship. Similarly, his Red Bull Ampol Racing stablemate, Broc Feeney, shot to prominence with his exploits in the class in 2018, before cleaning up in Super3 and Super2, and eventually replacing Jamie Whincup at Triple Eight Race Engineering. Cameron Hill twice featured in the top three of the end-of-season pointscore, while it was also a step on the ladder to the Supercars main game taken by the likes of Kai Allen, Aaron Cameron and Ryan Wood. Looking elsewhere within the Supercars ranks, there is ample GR Cup experience, including fresh graduates to the main game such as Zach Bates, Rylan Gray, Jobe Stewart, Jayden Ojeda and Declan Fraser. Come endurance race time, the list swells

to include the likes of Cameron Crick, Lochie Dalton, Zak Best, Brad Vaughan and Jarrod Hughes. Such is the category’s popularity that, in 2023, a second-tier Scholarship Series was introduced as a further stepping stone for young drivers entering the motorsport scene, with competitors utilising firstgeneration machinery. Several of its products have excelled upon arrival in the GR Cup, with graduates including Max Geoghegan, the grandson of five-time Australian Touring Car champion Ian Geoghegan, who has subsequently stepped up into the Dunlop Super2 Series after winning the 2024 GR Cup. In 2026, the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup will feature a stacked calendar alongside the Repco Supercars Championship, kicking off in Sydney before visiting Townsville, Queensland Raceway, Bathurst and Sandown. ■

spired by the American Trans Am Series that rose to prominence in the 1960s, the current Australian-based series pits Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro body shapes, mounted on a control chassis with control componentry, against one another in a showcase of driver skill. The Trans Am cars are powered by a 6.2-litre V8 that delivers 525hp at 6,500rpm to a four-speed gearbox. With a range of available adjustments and tipping the scales at only 1,250kg, it creates a potent package. While comparisons with the Repco Supercars Championship are inevitable given the presence of Camaros and Mustangs, the emphasis on control,

low-tech, low-downforce cars differentiates Trans Am from the current Supercars. After Nathan Herne claimed end-ofseason honours in both 2021 and ’22, James Moffat secured an emotional 2023 title. Todd Hazelwood entered the class in 2024 and walked away with the title, which he successfully defended last year. This year he continues to be a fixture at the front of the field, now racing under his own Todd’s Garage banner. Other front runners in the mix will no doubt be Nathan Herne, Jarrod Hughes, Jack Smith, Lachlan Evennett, Tim Blanchard and Adam Garwood. Included in the mix is a stacked field of second-generation racers, including Allan

Moffat, Clay Richards and Ben Bargwanna. A number of drivers have utilised the platform as a stepping stone in their motorsport careers, including Zach Bates, Lochie Dalton, Nash Morris, and Cameron Crick, while others like Brodie Kostecki, James Golding, Tim Slade, Jordan Cox, Jordan Boys, Aaron Love, and Elliot Cleary have been starters in the category. The 2026 season kicked off at the Bathurst 6 Hour, before featuring on an expanded Repco Supercars Championship calendar of events, including Darwin, Perth, Ipswich, The Bend, with the season rounded out by twin rounds at Sandown, where the season concludes with the Penrite Oil Sandown 500. ■

The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series always turns on a large spectacle, even if the cars are small in size…

pack of angry ants or pint-sized racers, call them what you will, but the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series is a must-see part of the support category action at the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440. Around half the scale of the road-going counterparts, Aussie Racing Cars have been developed over time to provide fast, close racing. While the spec underpinnings of the machines ensure even competition, a range of different body styles have been developed for the class, giving competitors the freedom to support the marque of their choosing. For the nostalgia buffs, there’s the 1940 Ford and FJ Holden reproductions, to the more contemporary Ford Falcon, Holden

Commodore and Cruze, Toyota Aurion, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Elantra, Euro GT, Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang - there truly is something for everyone in the mix of available body styles. While a tightly controlled parity process has seen the cars evenly matched in terms of lap times, the Mustang has proven to be a popular choice amongst series champions in recent times, with Joel Heinrich, Josh Anderson and Justin Ruggier claiming titles, while Kody Garland on top of the pandemicshortened 2021 season, as well as last year's pointscore. Up front, propelling the machines is a motorcycle-derived 1.3-litre, 135 BHP twin-cam 16 valve engine that revs to 11,500 RPM, while the total package tips the

scales at only 500kg, resulting in a potent power-to-weight ratio. In a change for the category, chassis are now being produced by Triple Eight Race Engineering, with the first example debuting last year. This season's Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series will be once again held over seven rounds, with at least five contested at Repco Supercars Championship events spread around the country. The schedule kicked off at Mount Panorama at the Bathurst 6 Hour meet, before visiting Symmons Plains, the Townsville Street Circuit, Queensland Raceway, Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend, with the final event of the season to be announced. ■
