WELCOME FROM THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MOTOR SPORT BOARD

Welcome to the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final, a new era for the event as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Adelaide Street Circuit and welcome and thank our new naming-rights partner, bp.

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will crown its champion in Adelaide under the new-look Repco Supercars Finals Series for the first time. The new format will deliver even more drama and excitement to the conclusion of the Repco Supercars Championship, guaranteeing the champion will be crowned in Adelaide.

There is even more Supercars racing in 2025 with the introduction of a new 100km Friday race, with a $50,000 cash prize awaiting the winner, thanks to Mega Rewards. Then it’s the two gruelling 250km races across Saturday and Sunday, with the championship title awaiting the contender with the most points across the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

In addition to the Repco Supercars Championship, there is the Dunlop Super2 Series, Trico Trans Am, Porsche

Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup and Battery World Aussie Racing Cars. And after a successful debut in 2024, the NAPA Speedway and Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Grand Final return with expanded schedules in 2025.

Celebrating 40 years since the debut of the world famous Adelaide Street Circuit at the inaugural Australian Grand Prix in 1985, we’re bringing Formula One back with Oracle Red Bull Racing completing high-speed laps and demonstrations during the event, in addition to holding a pitlane display accessible to everyone with a paddock pass.

Off track, music legends Lenny Kravitz and AC/DC headline the concerts on Saturday night and Sunday night respectively, in addition to activations and events for the whole family over the weekend.

With the bp Adelaide Grand Final getting underway on Wednesday evening for the first-time ever with NAPA Speedway and concluding with AC/DC, it will be an action-packed five days and I look forward to seeing you there.

Premier of South Australia

Welcome to the bp Adelaide Grand Final. It’s an absolute privilege to welcome you all to what promises to be the most dramatic and thrilling conclusion to a championship season in Supercars history.

This is motorsport history in the making. For the first time ever, the champion of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will be crowned in a guaranteed battle in Adelaide, with fans enjoying more Supercars action under the new format, hosting the title deciding final three races in the Adelaide Parklands. The stakes have never been higher, the format never more exciting.

There could be no more fitting stage for this historic occasion. The Adelaide 500 stands alone as the only event ever inducted into the Supercars Hall of Fame, and now it will be the place where a new Champion is crowned after what we hope will be three unforgettable days of racing.

The Repco Supercars Finals Series will provide more on-track content and a dramatic conclusion to the entire championship with the highest season point scorers qualifying to fight for the championship in Adelaide in a new elimination style format. Four drivers. Three races. One champion. It doesn’t get more compelling than that.

What makes this weekend truly special is the introduction of a new 100km Friday race, with a $50,000 cash prize awaiting the winner, setting up the blockbuster Saturday and Sunday 250km races. Add to this the wildcard entry of NASCAR Daytona 500 champion Austin Cindric and the sensational Saturday and Sunday night performances by global music icons Lenny Kravitz and AC/DC, and this year’s event will truly be one to remember.

GRAND FINAL SHOWDOWN

The new look bp Adelaide Grand Final will crown a Supercars champion with the thrilling conclusion to the first Supercars Finals Series.

History will be made at the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final, 40 years on from the birth of the Adelaide Street Circuit.

Just as the circuit hosted the Formula 1 season finale for the first time in November 1985, the Repco Supercars Championship concludes on the Adelaide Street Circuit in November 2025. And this time a champion will definitely be crowned as a result of the Repco Supercars Championship’s new Finals Series, culminating with the bp

Adelaide Grand Final.

The format has been inspired by the playoff system used in NASCAR, ensuring four drivers will be in the running to win the championship entering the bp Adelaide Grand Final. It is a similar concept to the finals system used in other major sports such as AFL, NFL and NBL, where teams play during the season and the highest points winners play off at the end of the season.

The 13 events of the 2025 Repco

Supercars Championship were split into three parts – the Sprint Cup, the Enduro Cup and The Finals. While in years past the championship result may have been a forgone conclusion entering the last round, the new format guarantees a title showdown between the four contenders. Therefore, the driver with the most points accrued at the end of the bp Adelaide Grand Final weekend will be crowned the 2025 champion after the chequered flag falls on Sunday.

While these four drivers will have the championship trophy in their sights, the rest of the grid will be racing for bragging rights and the coveted Adelaide trophy to finish the season on a high.

The Repco Supercars Championship action gets underway with a 30-minute practice session on Thursday November 27, followed by a second 30-minute practice session on Friday November 28. Then it’s into a qualifying session for Race 32 of the 2025 season – the first-ever Supercars race on a Friday on the streets of Adelaide.

The Friday race will be 100km in

Broc Feeney has been the driver to beat in 2025, but the Finals Series means the championship battle will go down to the final race at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

length – the shortest ever held at the Adelaide Street Circuit but one of the most intriguing. The short race distance means drivers will need to be aggressive, with just one compulsory pitstop compared to the longer races. With crucial points on the line for the championship contenders, there is an extra incentive for all drivers with a new $50,000 prize on offer to the race winner courtesy of Mega Rewards.

The Repco Supercars Championship switches to the more traditional format from Saturday November 29, with a qualifying session, Top Ten Shootout and the 250km Race 33. With more than double the points available compared to the Friday race and an extra 150km of racing, the Saturday race will prove decisive in shaping the championship battle heading into Sunday.

Sunday November 30 also features a qualifying session, Top Ten Shootout and the decisive 250km Race 34. Following the conclusion of that race, the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship title winner will be crowned – the first under the new Finals Series.

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final features a bumper schedule of on-track action and off-track activations, as the event celebrates 40 years since the debut of the Adelaide Street Circuit with the inaugural Australian Formula 1 Grand

Prix in 1985. To mark the occasion, an Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car will thrill fans with daily on-track sessions. Supporting the Repco Supercars Championship on track will be the Dunlop Super2 Series, Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup, Trico Trans Am Series and Battery World Aussie Racing Cars, in addition to demonstrations of significant cars from the 40-year anniversary, drag demonstrations featuring Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Car and more.

There is also the return of NAPA Speedway, the BOOST MOBILE AUSX

Supercross Grand Final plus two massive nights of concerts, headlined by Lenny Kravitz and AC/DC. With the NAPA Speedway commencing on the Wednesday evening and Supercars racing on a Friday for the first time, the new era of the bp Adelaide Grand Final begins with a bang – and it’s set to be the biggest event yet in the 40-year history of the Adelaide Street Circuit. ■

As the engines cool and the dust settles on the track, the bp Adelaide Grand Final shifts gears into an electrifying celebration of music, delivering two unforgettable nights of world-class performances that promise to keep the adrenaline pumping long after the final lap.

Kicking off the entertainment as

The Grand Final weekend reaches its crescendo on Sunday night with a thunderous headline performance

Third time could finally be the charm for Broc Feeney, who has contended for the Repco Supercars Championship in each of the past two seasons. He has been the apex predator of 2025, and would have one hand on the trophy under the old system.

A protege of 2014 Bathurst 1000 winner Paul Morris, Feeney built an impressive CV on the road to Supercars. Following in the footsteps of father Paul Feeney, who raced on two wheels in the 1970s and ‘80s, Broc began racing motorbikes at the age of three.

He switched to karts at age nine and then cars at age 15, and has racked up a host of ‘youngest ever to win the title’ accolades in the years since, including in Toyota 86, Super3 and Super2. It was the latter triumph that led to Feeney replacing the retiring Jamie Whincup for 2022 at Triple Eight.

Feeney delivered an impressive rookie season, capped with a maiden race win on the Sunday of the 2022 Adelaide 500 – and naturally, he became the event’s youngest overall winner.

He was almost peerless through the first two rounds of Supercars’ inaugural Finals Series, and has his best shot at adding a championship trophy to WAU’s cabinet to go with his 2021 Bathurst 1000 victory trophy.

A champion in karts and Formula Ford, Mostert came under Tickford Racing’s wing in 2011, fielding him in Super2 and guiding his path to Supercars. That came in 2013 when he was placed at Dick Johnson Racing mid-season, rewarding their faith with an emotional victory at Queensland Raceway.

He became Tickford’s rising star-turnedlead driver over the next few years, taking a dramatic Bathurst 1000 win in 2014, then recovering from a violent accident in qualifying at Mount Panorama 12 months later.

He is an ambassador for anti-bullying initiative Dolly’s Dream.

While his qualifying form has been suspect in 2025, he has kept his title hopes alive with sensational charges from low grid positions.

The Toowoomba product arrived in Supercars via title-winning seasons in Formula 4 and Toyota 86s. Impressive performances in the Dunlop Series attracted attention from Erebus Motorsport, which gave him co-drives in 2019-20 ahead of a full-time Supercars promotion for 2021.

He took an emotional breakthrough win at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2021 and contended for the title with Erebus in 2023 prior to joining Triple Eight.

In addition to Supercars, Brown made his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series at Sonoma. When not racing, you can find him working in his family’s car sales business.

He began karting aged eight and won a pair of Australian titles and raced overseas, then graduated to car racing in 2021 with a move to the Gold Coast. Paul Morris took him under his wing at the Norwell Motorplex and guided him to compete in Hyundai Excels before a handful of races in Toyota 86s.

Allen took a record 11 of 12 pole positions on debut in Super3 in 2022 but lost the title with a crash in the final race. He made no such mistakes in Super2 in 2023, winning the title with a come-from-behind drive in the finale. He made a handful of Supercars starts via a Bathurst 1000 wildcard and enduro drives with Dick Johnson Racing in 2023-24, then filled in for a concussed Richie Stanaway for Grove Racing at Adelaide last year.

A star in karting, he graduated to car racing at home in the Toyota Racing Series, winning the 2021 title and earning a scholarship to race in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.

Impressive performances saw him become the foundation driver of the Grove Junior Team. The team guided his rise to Supercars; after a plan to rush him into Supercars in 2022 foundered, Payne raced Super2 for 18 months before graduating to the ‘main game’ in 2023. A star in karts and a Formula Ford title winner, Randle raced open-wheel in Europe before carving out a Supercars career at home. At the end of 2022, Wood had two clear options for his career going forward. An impressive rookie Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge season, earning a scholarship drive in Carrera Cup. On the other hand, a sterling evaluation day aboard a WAU Gen2 Holden meant a Super2 offer was on the table. He chose the latter, and the rest is history.

After a solid rookie ‘main game’ season last year, Wood has often matched or bettered veteran teammate Chaz Mostert in 2025, culminating in his maiden Supercars victory at Wanneroo in May.

Anton De Pasquale secured a Repco Supercars Championship Finals berth in his first year with Team 18, but was eliminated after the Gold Coast. De Pasquale is one of several current Supercars drivers to have chanced their arm in Europe, notching impressive results in junior formulae but running out of funding to keep moving up the ladder towards F1. He returned home in 2016 determined to break into Supercars. Bathurst-winning veteran Paul Morris took him under his wing, and two impressive Super2 seasons led to a full-time ‘main game’ drive with Erebus in 2018. Amid a steady rookie campaign, De Pasquale stole the show by qualifying third in the Top 10 Shootout at the Bathurst 1000. De Pasquale matched well against teammate David Reynolds and claimed a maiden race win in 2020 before securing a move to DJR for 2021. He stormed to a string of poles and race wins in his first two seasons but, amid DJR’s Gen3 struggles, claimed one race win in Townsville and last year’s Jason Richards Memorial Trophy.

GO ON, GIVE IT A DRY.

Brodie Kostecki has established himself as one of the new stars of the Repco Supercars Championship, earning a championship title and a Bathurst 1000 victory within his first four full-time seasons. But his story is far from that of an overnight success. After racing karts in Australia, Kostecki and his family moved to America where he cut his teeth in the uncompromising world of Late Model stock car racing. He returned home in 2017 and set to carving out a Supercars career, impressing in several seasons of Super2.

A head-turning co-drive with Erebus at Bathurst in 2020 earnt him a ‘main game’ seat. Two years later, Kostecki became the 26th driver to win the Supercars title during the inaugural season of Gen3, then backed it up with victory in last year’s Bathurst 1000 with Todd Hazelwood. He left the squad to build a new chapter of success with Dick Johnson Racing, taking wins in Townsville and at The Bend 500.

Cameron Hill is looking to round out his time at Matt Stone Racing on a high as he prepares to embark on a new chapter in his Repco Supercars Championship career with Brad Jones Racing next year.

The Canberran won a host of state and national titles in karting before graduating to Formula Ford, winning the national title in 2015 before a switch to sedans with the Toyota 86 Racing Series. Success in the one-make class led to an opportunity in Porsche Carrera Cup, culminating in a dominant run to title in 2021.

While all those successes came in cars run by his family team, his shift to Super2 for 2022 came with leading squad Triple Eight. An impressive rookie season in the second tier netted him a ‘main game’ move to MSR for the start of the Gen3 era in 2023.

Hill quietly impressed alongside proven race winner Nick Percat last year, finishing just outside the top 10 in points, before claiming his maiden victory at the Australian Grand Prix.

The success caught the attention of Betty Klimenko, who drafted him into the Erebus Academy to drive Formula 3 and GT machinery; the latter included a podium in the 2014 Bathurst 12 Hour.

He made his Supercars debut with Erebus as a co-driver in 2015, but a full-time seat didn’t come until he joined TEKNO in 2018. He finished the season as the best of five rookies, but a difficult second year led to a return to Tickford for 2020, and a breakthrough race win came in one of the mixed-tyre races at Sydney Motorsport Park.

A shift to Matt Stone Racing for 2022 paid dividends when Gen3 arrived in 2023, Le Brocq earning the team’s maiden pole and race victory at Hidden Valley. He reunited with Erebus for 2024, and this year led the squad as a Supercars veteran alongside a rookie teammate.

Former Repco Supercars Championship winner James Courtney will look to end his full-time racing career with a bang in his final outing with the Blanchard Racing Team before retirement.

A two-time karting world champion, Courtney served his apprenticeship in Europe and was on the road to Formula 1 until a 306km/h testing crash at Monza in 2002 changed the course of his career. After three successful seasons racing in Japan, he turned an endurance races debut in 2005 into a full-time Supercars switch in 2006.

Courtney claimed the 2010 Supercars title against the odds in a dramatic finale at Homebush for Ford icon Dick Johnson Racing, then crossed the floor to the Holden Racing Team for a nine-year stint that netted Adelaide 500 overall victories in 2014 and 2015.

He fought hard for lasting success thereafter. Dumped by WR after 2012, Percat rebuilt via Carerra Cup and snared a full-time Supercars debut with WR in 2014, only to lose his seat amid a restructure. Again he rebuilt, this time with Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport and then Brad Jones Racing, winning with both.

After a failed return to Walkinshaw Andretti United, Percat’s move to Matt Stone Racing quickly bore fruit with wins at Albert Park and Symmons Plains, but announced his retirement from full-time Supercars racing on the eve of this year’s Bathurst 1000.

After a few learning years, everything clicked for Fullwood in 2019 and he took a dominant win in the second-tier series with MW Motorsport, a victory that secured graduation to the ‘main game’ with Walkinshaw Andretti United in 2020.

Very much in the shadow of WAU’s star signing Chaz Mostert, Fullwood quietly went about settling in before a series of mid-season qualifying performances captured attention.

While unable to recapture that form in his second year with WAU, a shift to Albury for 2022 and pairing with veteran engineer Phil Keed built Fullwood into a podium threat.

A Bathurst 1000 win headlines a career that is filled with success, with national titles in Formula Ford and Carrera Cup paving his path to Supercars. However, it was his move to Ford Performance Racing in 2012 that launched Reynolds into a contender.

Four seasons with FPR netted wins and pole positions, but he found himself on the outer after 2015, leading to a move to Erebus. In addition to winning Bathurst in 2017, Reynolds was a regular threat for race wins, but departed at the end of a difficult 2020 season.

A shift to what is now known as Grove Racing revived his career. Reynolds broke through for his first pole position in four years at the 2023 Newcastle 500 then his first win in five years at that year’s Gold Coast 500. Last year he moved to Team 18, and last month celebrated a contract extension with second at Bathurst.

TASTE OF THE FUTURE

Toyota is entering the Repco Supercars Championship with its GR Supra Supercar in 2026. Fans at the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final will get a taste of what they will see racing in 2026 with the new Supercar in attendance.

Toyota will take on Ford and Chevrolet with the new GR Supra Supercar in the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship, the brand’s maiden entry into Supercars.

The GR Supras on the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship will be run by homologation team Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) and Brad Jones Racing (BJR).

WAU switches from Ford following three seasons running the Mustang GT, after a long association with Holden that dates back to its days as the Holden Racing Team. BJR switches from Chevrolet, following stints with Chevrolet, Holden and Ford.

Toyota has committed to racing in the Repco Supercars Championship for at least the next five years, alongside its one-make grassroots Toyota GAZOO

Racing Australia (TGRA) Scholarship Series and GR Cup, and the TGRA Rally Team alongside Neal Bates Motorsport. The TGRA Scholarship Series and GR Cup have been providing youngsters the opportunity to begin their career in an affordable grassroots category.

The GR Supra Supercar will use Toyota’s 2UR-GSE all-aluminium, quad-cam V8 as its baseline engine. The engine has featured in a range of performance production cars, as well as the 2019 Dakar-winning HiLux.

“The GR Supra will make for an exciting addition to the Supercars grid next year, and we can’t wait to see it in action,” said Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley.

“We are excited to showcase our GR Supra Supercar to all motorsport

fans at the bp Adelaide Grand Final –one of the most iconic events on the Supercars calendar.

“With the new finals series format that Supercars has implemented, the Grand Final round is only going to be more exciting for the fans to tune in and watch.

“It will be great to see the GR Supra Supercar on display for fans and performing demonstration laps throughout the weekend, this could be the last chance the public sees it before we start on the grid in 2026, we can’t wait to be back here with our Toyota teams Walkinshaw Andretti United and Brad Jones Racing hopefully battling for the championship next year.”

We can’t wait to see the Toyota GR Supra Supercar racing in the 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final. ■

It’s 40 years since the Adelaide Street Circuit came to life with the first Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix held in 1985. The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final celebrates the 40th anniversary of a circuit that has hosted iconic Formula 1 and Supercars moments ...

On November 3 in 1985, Adelaide came alive with the inaugural Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix held on the brand-new Adelaide Street Circuit. The event and circuit reshaped Australian and international motorsport, with a legacy that continues to this day with the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

Adelaide defied expectations when it got the jump on the likes of Sydney and Melbourne to host Formula 1, which in the mid-1980s still had a very Eurocentric calendar of events. Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone was looking to expand globally as the commercial side of the sport was growing via an increase in television audiences. And it was Adelaide that won over Formula 1 with a concerted effort by government, council and an enthusiastic population.

Adelaide was itself in a period of growth in the early 1980s, needing a major event to put itself on the map.

Local businessman Bill O’Gorman, then working in the travel industry, proposed a grand prix in Adelaide in a letter to

South Australian Premier John Bannon in January 1983.

The idea was well received within government and council offices and was championed by Adelaide Lord Mayor and inaugural chairman of the South Australian Tourism Industry Council, Wendy Chapman. With the Premier also embracing the proposal, a ‘Grand Prix for Adelaide Committee’ met for the first in March 1983.

While Sydney and Melbourne were circling with their own proposals, Adelaide emerged as the only option with the support required to make it happen, especially as Ecclestone favoured a street circuit proposal over a permanent circuit.

The premier went public with the grand prix push in August 1983 at a luncheon celebrating South Australian Vern Schuppan’s victory in that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Schuppan, who had raced in Formula 1 in the 1970s, was key in educating the likes of Ecclestone about what Adelaide could offer.

While the original idea was for a lone

race in Adelaide in 1986, it soon became clear to all concerned that it would only be viable if it was an annual event.

Negotiations continued throughout 1984, as the steering committee worked through the business case and track proposals. With time running out, Bannon and a delegation that included the director of the government’s cabinet and soon-to-be grand prix chief executive Mal Hemmerling travelled to London for decisive negotiations with Ecclestone in October 1984.

Bannon and Ecclestone negotiated alone and hit it off immediately, concluding a deal that would begin in 1985. While Adelaide had initially bid for 1986, Formula 1 had gaps to fill in its calendar with Ecclestone insisting it had to host the season finale from 1985 onwards.

This left Adelaide with just 12 months to design and build a track and put

the legislation and organisational structures in place to make the grand prix happen. Initial track proposals focussed exclusively on city streets –the first proposal based on King William Road around the Festival Theatre and a second based on Dequetteville Terrace around the east end of Adelaide. But to differentiate from other street circuits, organisers sought to use the parks that surround Adelaide, namely Victoria Park.

The Victoria Park section of the circuit gave the track a unique combination of city streets and a parklands section, with the temporary pit building housed in the latter. The track build in Victoria Park began in March 1985, creating a

section of track that remains to this day.

Despite the tight turnaround, organisers finished the track on schedule and the rest, as they say, is history. A sold-out crowd of 107,500 on race day saw Keke Rosberg win the inaugural Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix. The event was off and running and would only grow from there.

The 1986 event saw the first championship decided in Adelaide with the three-way fight between Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet decided in favour of Prost, following a spectacular tyre blowout by Mansell in the closing stages of the race.

Other iconic moments in the history of the event included Gerhard Berger’s

domination for Ferrari in 1987, the rained-out washout won by Ayrton Senna in 1991, Senna’s last-ever grand prix win and Prost’s last-ever race and podium in 1993 and the controversial championship-deciding collision between Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill in 1994.

While Adelaide hosted what was a golden era for Formula 1, initiatives implemented by Adelaide organisers become the norm at motorsport circuits and events worldwide. As Ecclestone said at the first race in 1985: “What Adelaide has done is very bad for grand prix racing. They have set a standard some of the established circuits cannot reach.”

These initiatives included the post-race concert, which became a highlight of the grand prix in Adelaide with acts including Tina Turner, Cher, Paul Simon and Bon Jovi. Concerts are now a staple of marquee street circuit events, including at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

Another Adelaide feature was having hospitality suites above the pit building. It was one of the first purpose-built examples of corporate hospitality and other facilities above pit garages - an innovation that soon became the norm at other circuits.

While other Formula 1 events had little in the way of other on-track action and other off-track activations, Adelaide would pack the schedule with support categories including touring cars, junior formulae, superkarts, celebrity challenges and more. With a smorgasbord of motorsport plus the concerts, street parties and more, the grand prix became Adelaide’s biggest party of the year.

A world record weekend crowd of 520,000 (210,000 on race day) witnessed the last grand prix in Adelaide in 1995, before the event moved to Melbourne. Damon Hill was the winner in a race of attrition, as the chequered flag fell on the grand prix in Adelaide. But the Adelaide Street Circuit wasn’t done with.

The South Australian Government teamed with what was then known as V8 Supercars to launch the Adelaide 500 in 1999, on a slightly shortened version of the grand prix circuit. Like with the grand prix, the Adelaide 500 was an immediate success with a

record crowd for the championship at its first event. Craig Lowndes won the round; winning the opening leg, sent to the rear of the grid for the second following a driving infringement and storming back through the field to claim the second leg and round win.

The Adelaide 500 grew each year, replicating the grand prix model and success with concerts, a bumper racing schedule and off-track activations. Traditionally held at the start of the year, the event moved to the end of the Supercars season for 2022 after a brief hiatus in 2021.

In 2025, the event adopts a new name and format as part of the new-look 2025 Repco Supercars Championship Finals Series format.

Just as in the grand prix days, the season will end with a champion crowned on a weekend of non-stop on-track and off-track action and activity. ■

The 40th Anniversary Celebrations of the Adelaide Street Circuit are proudly presented by Carbiz.

40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH RED BULL

TO celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Adelaide Street Circuit, the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Prix is bringing Formula 1 back to the circuit with an Oracle Red Bull Racing car completing high-speed laps and demonstrations over the course of the event.

The daily on-track feature will include demonstration runs and a speed comparison, showcasing the incredible capabilities of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car by racing it directly against other iconic motorsport and road cars on the Adelaide Street Circuit.

In pitlane, a Formula 1 grand prix quality garage will be the central base between the on-track action, featuring 12 mechanics from the Milton Keynes team.

The demonstration runs will be a special link back to the past, 40 years since the Adelaide Street Circuit first hosted Formula 1 with the inaugural Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1985.

The 40-year celebration will include various other cars with Adelaide Street Circuit heritage, including Formula 1 cars, touring cars, Supercars and more.

GENERATION NEXT

The future stars of the Repco Supercars Championship do battle for main game graduation and second tier honours in the Dunlop Super2 Series.

The Dunlop Super2 Series is the breeding ground for the Repco Supercars Championship, as youngsters stake their claim for a place on the main game grid.

Former Dunlop Super2 Series champions who now race in the Repco Supercars Championship include Cam Waters, Bryce Fullwood, Thomas Randle, Broc Feeney and Kai Allen.

Now in its 25th anniversary season as the main feeder category to Supercars, the Dunlop Super2 Series not only produces Supercars stars but also plenty of on-track action.

The Dunlop Super2 Series features older model Supercars, currently the Gen2-spec Ford Mustang GT and Holden ZB Commodore.

Main game teams who field entrants in the Dunlop Super2 Series include Tickford Racing, Triple Eight Race Engineering, Brad Jones Racing, Blanchard Racing Team and Walkinshaw Andretti United, while Erebus Motorsport has a link with its Erebus Academy team run by Image Racing.

Tickford Racing has been the dominant force in the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series, with its quartet of Mustangs often leading the way. Rylan Gray has been the frontrunner amongst the Tickford youngsters, with his teammates including Nash Morris, Lochie Dalton and Reuben Goodall.

Under the mentorship of Supercars great Mark Winterbottom, the Tickford quartet will be looking to give the Ford team its first Super2 title in a decade.

Other contenders include last season’s Dunlop Super2 Series champion Zach Bates; Triple Eight duo Ben Gomersall and Jackson Walls - the latter in his final start before graduating to the main game in 2026; and Adelaide’s own Brad Vaughan. Fellow South Australian Jobe Stewart has also made waves, with the former Super3 Series champion impressing with the Erebus Academy.

The Dunlop Super2 Series will race two times across the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final. ■

PORSCHE BATTLE

Australia’s premier one-make series, the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship, is set for its championship decider at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

The Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship has been a regular feature at Supercars events, celebrating its 20th anniversary of its first appearance in Adelaide last year.

The one-make series features identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, producing around 510 horsepower. With drivers racing the same cars, driver skill shines through with the 2025 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship featuring a mix of experienced drivers with Supercars pedigree and youngsters looking to make their mark in Australian motorsport.

Drivers in the Equity-One Pro class battle it out for outright championship honours, while semi-professional drivers contest the Pro-Am category.

Two-time Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship winner Harri Jones is looking to defend his title in 2025, carrying over his form

into this season off the back of his Repco Supercars Championship debut with Team 18 in the endurance events.

Fellow Supercars endurance drivers Dylan O’Keeffe, David Russell and Dale Wood have been amongst the challengers to Jones over the course of the season, while Bayley Hall, Marcos Flack, Angelo Mouzouris and Oscar Targett represent the next generation.

In the Pro-Am class, veteran racer Rodney Jane has been the most consistent challenger with Matthew Belford, Matt Slavin, Sam Shahin and Brett Boulton the other frontrunners.

With title honours up for grabs and bragging rights at stake, expect another tense showdown in the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship.

The Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship will race three times across the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final.

A bumper grid of experienced and young drivers feature in the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship.

THUNDERING TRANS AM

Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros do battle in the Trico Trans Am Series, with the V8-powered, rear-wheel drive muscle cars growing in popularity across Australia.

The Trico Trans Am Series returns to the Adelaide Street Circuit having become a staple of the V8 on-track action at the event.

Inspired by American Trans Am that rose to prominence in the 1960s, the current iteration of the Australianbased series pits Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro body shapes, that sit over a control chassis with control componentry, against one another in a showcase of driver skill.

The Trans Am cars are powered by a 6.2-litre V8 with a four-speed gearbox. And while comparisons with the Repco Supercars Championship are inevitable given the presence of Camaros and Mustangs, the emphasis on control low technology, low downforce

cars differentiates Trans Am from Supercars.

Adelaide’s own Todd Hazelwood was crowned 2024 Trico Trans Am Series champion at the Adelaide Street Circuit, an emotional career highlight for the South Australian who also won the Repco Bathurst 1000 alongside Brodie Kostecki last year.

Hazelwood returned to the Trico Trans Am Series to defend his title in the #1 Ford Mustang in 2025. His main rivals include fellow Supercars race winner James Moffat, rising stars Nathan Herne and Jordan Cox and a mix of youth and experience.

The Trico Trans Am Series will race three times across the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final.

PINT-SIZED RACERS

For the first time since 2022, the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars return to the Adelaide Street Circuit for four action-packed races across the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final.

Small in stature but big in action, the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars will once again entertain on the Adelaide Street Circuit following a three-year hiatus.

The pint-sized racers produce spectacular side-by-side racing; perfectly suited to the challenges of the streets of Adelaide.

An Aussie Racing Car is approximately half the size of its roadgoing counterpart, with body styles over the control chassis including the Ford Falcon and Mustang, Holden Commodore, Chevrolet Camaro, Toyota Aurion and more. With tight technical regulations around the control chassis class, driver skill becomes the determining factor.

The cars are powered by a 1.3-litre twin-cam 16-valve engine that revs to 11500 RPM. Weighing in at 500 kilograms, the power to weight ratio allows the cars rocket to achieve a top speed more than 230km/h.

The 2025 Battery World Aussie Racing Cars champion will be crowned in Adelaide.

One of the leading contenders is South Australian and three-time series champion winner Joel Heinrich, with his main challengers including Caleb Paterson, Brandon Madden, Ryan Reynolds and Jack Boyd.
