drive This straight from the heart event is aimed at providing families, whom are experiencing financial woes with everything they need to have an emotionally and nutritionally healthy holiday in their own home with their family: Complete Thanksgiving meals and all the trimmings to be prepared THEIR way, together! In an effort to replace what would be memories filled with struggles, strife, and handouts, with memories of NORMALCY and their favorite holiday traditions

Finally, we want to remind everyone that our giveback efforts like these, rely on the support of our members. More Member = More Support!

Voodoo Goddess: Ezulie (er-ZOO-lee)

The Haitian Vodou Loa of romance, art, beauty, passion and sex, Erzulie is Voodoo’s Aphrodite. She is the patron loa of New Orleans and a fierce protector of women and children She is coquettish: fond of beauty and finery, but she also has a dark side that weeps the shortness of life and the limits of love

She is lavish with her love and gifts, and lives in fabulous luxury She wears three wedding

renowned New Orleans herbalist and midwife, Marie was born free in the the French Quarter on September 10th 1801 Because her mother was unmarried at the time of her birth, her father was not identified but is likely to be Charles Laveau, white politician, one other well known possible suiter is a free man Charles Laveaux, contributing to an alternative spelling of her name, but so few history records and documents are survived that the correct spelling is unconfirmed

The goddess of love in the Voodoo pantheon Erzulie is not the earth mother, nor the mother of men, but rather she is the loa, or goddess, of elemental forces the ideal, but tragic, mistress

She symbolizes femininity and compassion embodied, with a dark side that is limitless when crossed Terrifying, is how many describe this fearsome lwa. Mighty, fiery, and full of rage; Heaven help those who seek to hurt or destroy those she loves and vows to protect She is symbolized by a heart veve

(Maa-he La-voo)

Laveau was also known as a prominent female religious leader and community activist. Beauty parlor owner for the wealthiest of Orleanian women; Marie gained much inside information from the gossip at her parlor that she later used during her Voodoo consultations Providing her clients with guidance on their disputes, family, health, and finances.

Marie died at 79 years old on June 15 1881 Her services were said to have been immensely diverse including some of the most elite whites
