United Women for Change is a flagship initiative that does exactly that. This scholarship and mentorship programme supports exceptional young women from disadvantaged and war-torn backgrounds - including Africa, Latin America, the MENA region and areas affected by conflict, enabling them to access a lifechanging UWC Atlantic education.
It’s about more than access. It’s about empowerment. These students join a deliberately diverse community, learning alongside the children of royalty, diplomats, entrepreneurs and changemakers from every walk of life. This rich exchange of perspectives, fostered inside and outside the classroom, prepares them to return to their communities as bold, compassionate leaders.
Milagros from Peru United Women for Change represents a safe space for learning, growth and inspiration. Being able to meet and interact firsthand with women who are pioneers in their fields and willing to share their experiences and learnings with others is what fascinates me most about this programme. I believe in the power of women's leadership, which is like a torch: it does not go out when it is shared, but lights more paths, and that is exactly what every interaction and every mentor-to-mentee exchange represents.
