UWC ATLANTIC AND ITS HISTORY Established in 1962, UWC Atlantic is the flagship college of the inspirational UWC global education movement, comprising 18 schools and colleges worldwide.

LEADERSHIP Naheed Bardai Principal

Sian Morgan Vice Principal Academics & IBDP Coordinator

Marija Uzunova Dang Vice Principal Education Innovation

Lucretia Fields Vice Principal Student Life, Safeguarding (DSP), Wellbeing and Belonging

Based in the 12th Century St Donat’s Castle in South Wales, a 122- acre site that includes its own seafront, woodland and farmland, boarders aged 16 to 19 from over 90 nationalities are selected to study the IBDP based purely on personal motivation and potential. The deliberate diversity of the student body is achieved by attracting students from vastly differing political, religious, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. The Class of 2025 has a class size of 203 students. UWC Atlantic was the first school to offer a new academic pathway within the IBDP. Started in August 2023, the Systems Transformation Pathway (STP) supports our ambition that a UWC Atlantic education develops “bridge builders and compassionate leaders, empowering them to go beyond treating symptoms to understand root causes and initiate transformative solutions to human and environmental crises”. This pioneering and distinctive new IBDP pathway has been developed from a partnership between UWC Atlantic and the International Baccalaureate. Climate change, global migration, extremism, inequality and natural resource depletion demand people with radical, changemaking thinking who look to build bridges not walls. That mindset defines UWC Atlantic students, alongside a passion to serve society in a way that is bold, forward-looking and unrestrained. Both IB Diploma pathways, the standard and the new STP pathway lead to students receiving the full IB Diploma, subject to meeting the graduation requirements.
