OF CONTENTS

WELCOME TO THE SECOND EDITION OF GRAND RAID VENTOUX BY UTMB® !

Get ready to experience something extraordinary as you explore your runner’s guide. For more information, visit our website: ventoux.utmb.world

Towering over Provence at 1,912 meters above sea level, white, mineral, and sometimes swept by powerful winds, Mont Ventoux is an iconic summit.

The Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB® invites you, for its second edition, to enjoy a unique trail experience in the heart of an exceptional region.

For nearly 30 years, this event has introduced runners to the spectacular landscapes of the Vaucluse: panoramic ridgelines, wild gorges, perched villages, and deep forests.

For more than 10 years, it has been passionately led by Team Sports 84, a committed local organization.

Over the years, the event has been built around strong values: sporting excellence, local roots, and solidarity.

Each edition also contributes to supporting the Pupilles des SapeursPompiers du Vaucluse, making this race much more than just a sporting challenge.

Now part of the official UTMB® World Series 2026 calendar, the event confirms Ventoux’s place among the world’s top trail running destinations.

This second edition continues the success of the inaugural event, with strengthened organization, optimized logistics, and a clear ambition:

TO OFFER A DEMANDING, COMMITTED, AND UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE.

« After the successful launch in 2025, we are very pleased to welcome you back for this new edition of the Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB.

The enthusiasm surrounding the event continues to grow, with more than 4,000 runners expected from 39 nationalities. We are proud to welcome you once again to this exceptional region, across 16 municipalities, for a unique sporting experience in the heart of Mont Ventoux.

This adventure embodies values that are dear to us: sharing, pushing beyond one’s limits, and solidarity, driven by the commitment of volunteers and in support of the Pupilles des Sapeurs-Pompiers du Vaucluse.

The last weekend of April promises once again to be full of эмоtions, and we look forward to experiencing this moment with you—combining sport, solidarity, and conviviality—in a natural setting that is as exceptional as ever: Mont Ventoux»

« Welcome to the Vaucluse region, at the foot of the majestic and unpredictable Mont Ventoux.

After a remarkable first edition, which brought together several thousand runners and confirmed the deep attachment to this event, we are particularly pleased to welcome you for this second edition of the Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB ® .

Beyond the effort, a true experience awaits you: a friendly atmosphere, moments of sharing between runners, supporters, and volunteers, and a celebration of trail running in an exceptional natural setting.

Malaucène will once again be the beating heart of the event, with its village, its activities, its encounters, and that collective energy that defines the identity of the Grand Raid Ventoux.

This second edition is part of a dynamic of progress. Each course has been reworked, every system refined, with a constant goal: to offer you an even smoother, more demanding, and more memorable experience.

But beyond performance, this adventure remains deeply human. For over 10 years, we have been organizing this race in support of a cause close to our hearts: the orphaned children of the Vaucluse firefighters.

« Dear athletes,

It is with great pride and continued enthusiasm that I welcome you to Malaucène for this new edition of the Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB.

Year after year, this event continues to grow in influence and helps make our town a must-visit destination for trail running enthusiasts. Combining sporting challenge and discovery, Mont Ventoux offers an exceptional playground that will once again test your endurance and determination.

I would like to acknowledge the remarkable commitment of the volunteers, whose dedication is essential to the success of this event.

I wish you all a Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB full of эмоtions, marked by friendliness, selfimprovement, and respect for our environment.

Have a great race, everyone!»

By taking part, you contribute to this commitment. Every kilometer covered goes beyond the sporting dimension: it becomes an act of solidarity, a link between all the participants of the event.

This race brings us together—runners, volunteers, partners, residents—around shared values: sharing, commitment, and respect.

We look forward to seeing you for a weekend of sport, emotions, and pushing beyond your limits, in the heart of a unique region.

Have a great race, everyone. »

LE MONT VENTOUX

RUNNING IN THE HEART OF A UNIQUE NATURAL HERITAGE

The Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB courses take place in the heart of the Mont Ventoux Regional Natural Park, a territory renowned for the richness of its landscapes and the exceptional diversity of its biodiversity.

Over just a few kilometers, runners pass through a wide variety of natural environments: fragrant garrigue, oak and cedar forests, deep valleys, limestone ridgelines, and high-altitude landscapes.

This mosaic of natural habitats is home to remarkable biodiversity, with many protected plant and animal species.

PROTECTED NATURAL AREAS

Several sections of the course cross protected natural areas, created to preserve natural habitats and rare species.

Among the areas concerned:

• the Mont Ventoux massif

• the iconic Toulourenc Valley

• the forest habitats of the foothills

These environments are home to notable plant species (such as Petrarch’s catchfly or Loiseleur’s spurge, both found exclusively at the summit of Ventoux, for example) and exceptional animal species such as chamois, golden eagles, and numerous bats.

A SPECTACULAR GEOLOGICAL HERITAGE

MEET THE ENVIRONMENTAL AMBASSADORS DURING BIB COLLECTION!

They will be there to inform you about environmental issues, the best practices to adopt during your race, and to clarify course markings and signage.

The Mont Ventoux massif and the Dentelles de Montmirail are part of the National Inventory of Geological Heritage (INPG). A vast white scree slope for one, and lace-like limestone ridges for the other, these two landscapes are among the iconic sceneries of Provence.

PRESERVING THIS TERRITORY

The landscapes you pass through are the result of a natural and geological history built over millions of years.

By taking part in the Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB, each runner also becomes an active contributor to the preservation of this exceptional heritage.

THE RESPONSIBLE TRAIL RUNNER CHARTER

BY TAKING PART IN THE GRAND RAID VENTOUX BY UTMB, I COMMIT TO RESPECTING NATURE AND THE TERRITORIES I PASS THROUGH.

I STAY ON MARKED TRAILS

To prevent erosion and protect natural environments.

I RESPECT WILDLIFE

I keep noise to a minimum and do not leave the trails.

I RESPECT LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Farmers, foresters, and residents bring these areas to life.

RESPONSIBLE PURCHASING

I LIMIT MY IMPACT

I use the transport plan set up by the organization (for runners and supporters).

We prioritize local products to reduce unnecessary transportation and support local stakeholders. Aid stations are supplied with regional products, with a focus on organic agriculture.

PERSONAL CUPS AND UTENSILS

Since 2006, the UTMB Group has implemented the BYOU (Bring Your Own Utensils) system, including a reusable cup as part of the mandatory gear. Since 2018, runners must also bring their own utensils and bowl to eat.

These rules apply to all Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB participants. No tableware, disposable or otherwise, will be provided.

I LEAVE NO WASTE BEHIND I keep my packaging until I reach designated disposal areas.

THANKS TO EVERYONE’S COMMITMENT, IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMBINE SPORTING ACTIVITY WITH THE PRESERVATION OF NATURE, SO THAT THESE EXCEPTIONAL LANDSCAPES CAN CONTINUE TO WELCOME RUNNERS FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

CARRYING YOUR WASTE

Des petits sacs poubelles remis lors du retrait des Small trash bags provided at bib collection allow you to store your waste between aid stations, including used toilet paper, fruit peels, opened gels, and plastic wrap that contained food.

Use rechargeable batteries whenever possible, and if not, do not discard your used batteries! Special containers will be available at aid stations.

Your passage must leave no trace; penalties will be applied in case of environmental damage.

The central hub of the event, with its Ultra-Trail ® Village and the start and finish lines for all distances, Malaucène warmly welcomes you to experience the full beauty of Provence.

At these points, there will be no facilities for your comfort while following the race (shelter, heated area, food services, etc.). These aid stations are strictly forbidden to supporters and spectators, as they are located in areas inaccessible to the public and without parking facilities.

We ask you to respect these guidelines and not to go to these points. We must respect the territory hosting us by avoiding these areas at all costs.

Roads leading to these aid stations will be closed.

ENVIRONMENT & WEATHER

The Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB® races take place in natural, mountainous areas, with isolated sections (limited road and telecom coverage) and weather conditions that can change very quickly (snow, hail, fog, heat (>30°C), or intense cold (<-10°C), with or without strong winds).

On-course guidelines:

- Do not stop on high points

- If you lose the course markings, turn back to the last marker

- Stay on the trails

EQUIPMENT

Quelques rappels de bon sens pour faire face à une A few common-sense reminders to cope with difficult weather conditions:

- Be prepared for both cold and extreme heat

- Don’t wait until you are shivering to cover up

- Do not change clothes in strong wind: anticipate or wait until you are sheltered

- Protect yourself from the sun

Poles: Be careful with poles, especially in the early part of the race when runner density is high. Do not use wrist straps during descents: in case of a fall, they can prevent you from properly bracing with your hands (risk of injury to shoulders, wrists, forearms, or head).

SAFETY

NUTRITION & HYDRATION

Hydration and energy intake must be adapted to weather conditions and include sufficient salt throughout the effort. Maintain a good balance between slow-release and fast sugars.

FATIGUE AND ALERTNESS

Rest areas are available at aid stations to allow you to rest or sleep briefly. It is dangerous to isolate yourself alone in nature to sleep.

Fatigue and lack of alertness can lead to accidents. Run below your maximum capacity (especially in the early stages) to conserve energy for handling difficult situations such as sudden weather changes.

MANDATORY PERSONAL INSURANCE

To start your race with peace of mind, you must have personal accident insurance covering potential search and rescue costs in France. Each year, some runners face difficulties due to insufficient preparation. Such insurance can be taken out with the provider of your choice. Since 2022, UTMB® offers its own repatriation insurance, available here: https://utmb.assurinco. com/

LIVETRAIL

The app is a key tool for your safety while also providing valuable race information (real-time tracking of your race and that of your friends).

In case of SOS, the app allows you to send your GPS location directly via text message to the organization, saving valuable time for assistance. However, it does not replace a call to race headquarters.

A mobile phone is mandatory, with international roaming activated during the race and a fully functional battery. Do not put your phone in airplane mode, as the organization must be able to contact you before, during, and after the race.

Smartphones are required to use the LiveTrail® app, which is essential for your safety. For runners expecting to be on the course for more than 15 hours, carrying a power bank is recommended.

Make sure the emergency contact number you pro vided is correct and corre sponds to the person who should be notified in case of an issue.

Very important: to improve your assistance, ensure that the phone number entered in your runner profile is the one you will use during the race. You can update it up until the start of your race.
