DIVISION OF STUDENT SUCCESS

From the Senior Vice Provost A

s we celebrate another year of remarkable progress, I am humbled by the collective impact of our Division of Student Success. This annual report is more than a reflection of our achievements—it is a testament to the shared commitment to empowering scholars to thrive academically, personally, and professionally. This year, we have embraced innovation and intentionality across every facet of the scholar experience. Whether through transformative programs like VOLintern, which created 77 internships across 54 campus units, or the addition of Vols Study 24/7, which provides after-hours academic support, each initiative represents our unwavering dedication to meeting scholars where they are and helping them reach new heights. In addition, our faculty and staff have continued to advance the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a guiding framework that places well-being, strengths, and career readiness at the center of the Volunteer experience. The numbers tell a powerful story with 45% of scholars earning Vol Edge Credit for intentional career development, 99% of UT Promise on Rocky Top students ending the 2025-2026 year on academic good standing, and ranking in the top 10 for Best Honors Colleges. But behind every statistic is a scholar whose life has been touched by the people, programs, and partnerships that define the Division of Student Success.

Together, we are shaping a future that transforms persistence into purpose, belonging into brilliance, and talents into meaningful contributions to the world. As we look ahead, the opening of the new Student Success Center in 2027 represents a bold new chapter in our journey. This dynamic space will bring together classrooms, testing rooms, student lounges, and a wide range of services, creating an inspiring destination for innovation and connection. It is a physical manifestation of our commitment to helping every Volunteer strengthen their academic journey and prepare for a future filled with possibility. Thank you for joining us in this work. Your support, collaboration, and belief in our mission are the foundation of our success. Together, we will continue to empower scholars to dream bigger, achieve more, and lead lives of impact. With gratitude and hope, Amber Williams, EdD Senior Vice Provost for Student Success & Chief Honors Officer

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

Strengthening Student Success Through the QEP Intentional student investment is the foundation for the future of student success. For university faculty and staff, the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) serves as a guiding framework for advancing the holistic experiences that help students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally. The plan places an intentional focus on student well-being, strengths, and career readiness, shaping a more connected and supportive Volunteer experience and empowering students with the skills and confidence to remain purposeful in today’s evolving landscape.

2025-2026 Accomplishments Strengthened the intersection between faculty and the QEP through the addition of four faculty advisors. Each specializing in different sectors within the QEP, advisors will oversee career readiness, well-being, strengths-based learning, and academic momentum. Approximately 84% of students reported the value of utilizing their strengths toward the completion of learning or career-related tasks. Extended application of the Success Grant to support faculty curriculum in high-impact courses, resulting in one completion, two in-progress, and three grants in the early developmental stages.

Academic Well-Being “With the connections to instructors, my TAs, and classmates, I was able to benefit greatly overall in succeeding to the best of my ability. With combined effects from everyone, my understanding was enhanced and improved greatly.”
