5KEYS
To Healthier Lungs
Don’t Smoke. Quitting smoking is the best protection you can give your lungs! Be Honest with Yourself. Understand that chronic cough, shortness of breath, or other related symptoms are not normal. Take Action. Bring any symptoms related to your breathing or coughing to your doctor’s attention early. Get Moving! Powerful lungs supply your body with more oxygen, and exercise is key. Focus on Good Nutrition. A healthy diet promotes healthy lungs. A recent study found the more we skimp on eating fruit, vegetables, and other nutrient-rich foods, the more likely we are to report breathing problems such as coughing, wheezing, episodes of bronchitis, and even chronic asthma.
