Over the period of years in which she has served her school, her community, and her associates, Mrs . Bess Jones has become a tradition at Carbon. Students will long remember her keen interpretation, her sense of humor, her loyalty, and friend liness. Surely she represents well the spir it of Carbon. Upon her retirement next year, we shall all miss her.

"Carbon 's coaches have don e their jobs well thi s year , brin ging athletic distinction to Carbon College and Hi gh School. The high-school football team , under the direction of Coach Jewkes , battled its way into the state semi-fi nals, while the college footballers were guided by Coach White to their best season in years. In wrestling , Coach Cowley had a fine squad. In basketball , Coach Peterson 's college team made a good showing in the I.C.A .C. Conference, and Coach Wilson 's high school team played well in tough Region Five."
