It is now almost 2026 and time to honor RSPA colleagues who were outstanding in 2025. All RSPAs should be thinking of nominating fellow members who contributed to the Division (Or, nominate themselves!)

Here is the list.. a description will be in that email:
Major Contributor of the Year

High School Coach of the Year
College Coach of the Year
Industry Excellence Award
STAY TUNED NEXT ISSUE FOR A SPECIAL PIECE ON PRO OF THE YEAR “DALE EVANS”
All Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting in May!

It’s been an amazing Fall/Winter season for the RSPA Eastern Division for 2025! The Fall started off with an incredible World Racquets Conference in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii from September 21st-25th. Not only was this a beautiful place to have the conference, but there were also amazing presenters, like Mats Wilander and Brenda Schultz-McCarthy and also Pickleball experts, like Marcos del Pilar Rivero and Andrei Daescu! There were more than 30 presentations with topics spanning from high performance coaching, tactical strategies, branding, mental performance, and much more! They had a huge turnout from the membership selling out their hotel accommodations and having to add overflow accommodations! Our Eastern Division was well represented.
Our current Eastern membership as of 12/17 is 580 active members, which is still a little short of our year end goal of 600, but end of the year last year, we only had 564. So, bottom line is we are growing and doing slightly better than 2024. Let’s keep up the good work!
Now moving on to some local Eastern news, we had our annual RSPA Eastern Town Hall om Meeting on Wed Nov. 5th. We had a substantial turnout from our membership with just under 20 participants!
As the Committee Chair for Membership it is my job to set up and run the meeting. After greeting everyone and explaining the purpose of the meeting, which is to meet the Board Members or Leadership Team that is made up of the President and Executive Board members or Vice Presidents, Committee Chairs, and the District Presidents.
The other reason for the town hall is to give our members a chance to get their voice heard with opportunities to express their feelings and concerns Our President, Millie Didio talked about the state of our division and our Executive Director, Paul Fontana gave his National Report on the EXCOMM Meeting in Orlando. Overall, we thought the Town Hall was a great success!

Now, it’s my honor and privilege to announce that my friend and colleague is our member Spotlight for this newsletter is Marc Farrell. Marc has been very active in the RSPA for many years, but he has really stepped up for our division, since he was elected in 2024 to be the Southern District President for the RSPA Eastern Division! He was very recently nominated for the 2025 RSPA Eastern Pro of the year, where he was the runner-up. Since Marc has been the Southern District President he has organized and run two successful Coaches Workshops at Chestnut Ridge Racquet Club as well as a very successful fund raiser, where he helped raise over $1000 for the RSPA with the help of 10 RSPA pros who donated their time to the fundraiser, which had over 30 participants!
Here is a little more about Marc’s background. Marc is a dynamic and resultsdriven Director of Racquets with over 15 years of experience in tennis, pickleball, and platform tennis instruction and program
