That is why we were founded, with foresight, in 1975 as the nation’s first professional school devoted to research and education in gerontology the study of aging across the lifespan. Today we are at the forefront of the global field that has grown more essential than ever, as people aged 65 and older are soon expected to outnumber children under five.
Through the USC Leonard Davis School’s interdisciplinary studies, including biological, psychological, sociological, medical and business dimensions of adult life, students can learn innovative ways to respond effectively to the needs of an aging population.
Each year, the support of our alumni, parents and friends advance our education, research and outreach efforts to improve aging across the lifespan.

It’s rewarding to see how this field equips me not just for a career, but for a more compassionate and informed approach to life.”
