BEFORE your first practice—make your health insurance decision Checklist for Health Insurance
USC Student Athletes After August 15, if you have not waived SHIP/Aetna, you will be responsible for payment of SHIP/Aetna premiums via your student account: $3,522* for the year. Do you currently have health insurance through your family’s plan? If so, you may be able to choose to WAIVE OUT of the SHIP/Aetna Plan. (Your plan must meet USC insurance criteria.)
Are you planning to waive the SHIP/Aetna plan? Then UPLOAD YOUR INSURANCE CARD into MySHR (usc.edu/myshr) and SUBMIT the waiver before first practice. If you do not complete this ahead of time, you MUST BRING your health insurance card (or photo of the card, front and back, in your phone) to complete the insurance process.
