Note from the Executive Director

At USA Girl Scouts Overseas, we continue to be proud of the work we do and the communities we impact on a daily basis. Our mission to bring Girl Scouting around the globe is not always an easy one, but one that we know matters and must continue for the betterment of the girls and families we serve.

In 2025, we celebrated our 100 anniversary- a milestone that speaks volumes to the level of quality programming we provide. We were able to celebrate with our sisterhood around the world, both virtually and in-person, and set ourselves up to continue the momentum of this great movement for the next 100 years.

You will see in these pages the amount of dedication and committment that USAGSO staff and volunteers continually put out to bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to life for our members. We are giving girls access to leadership skills, cultural exchanges, lifelong friendships and unique, global experiences.

We hope you will continue to walk with us as we empower today’s generation of girls to grow, learn and thrive- no matter where they may call home.

Who We Are

USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) brings Girl Scouts to the daughters of military, foreign service and American expat families around the world and to girls in American and International schools An operating unit of Girl Scouts of the USA, USAGSO ensures that no matter where American families move, they will have access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

USA Girl Scouts Overseas by the Numbers

USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) supports Girl Scouts in 86 countries around the world, with members in four of seven continents including Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

During membership year 2025, USAGSO served 10,544 members, increasing membership nearly 2% from the previous year.

USAGSO saw continued growth in 2025, with adult membership increasing 4.6% and Lifetime Memberships up 3.4%. The organization also maintained a 62% renewal rate, an impressive benchmark for an organization whose members move frequently.

USAGSO proudly serves troops on 14 bases in Asia, 22 military installations in Europe, one in the Middle East, one in Africa and one in the Caribbean, along with 12 embassies.

100th Anniversary Highlights

In 2025, USA Girl Scouts Overseas proudly celebrated a remarkable milestone, 100 years of bringing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls around the world. This centennial year was marked by two unforgettable events that reflected both our rich history and our bold vision for the future.

Our virtual 100 Year Anniversary Gala brought together a global audience of more than 150 attendees, uniting members, volunteers, alumnae, and supporters from across continents. The event was a powerful celebration of impact, highlighting stories of leadership, resilience, and sisterhood that have defined USAGSO for a century.

Complementing the virtual celebration, USAGSO hosted an inaugural in-person event in Washington, DC, welcoming more than 50 attendees, including distinguished guests and notable USAGSO alumnae. This gathering was especially meaningful, as it marked the first event of its kind for USAGSO - bringing together generations of Girl Scouts whose experiences span the globe.

Importantly, these events also represented a significant step forward for USAGSO, successfully executing our first Silent Auction and Give 100 Campaign. The enthusiasm and support demonstrated by attendees affirmed both the value of our work and the opportunity ahead to grow and sustain our impact.

Together, these celebrations showcased how far USAGSO has come - from a sin troop of 18 girls in Shanghai, China to a thriving global community reaching

Rebuilding and Expanding Across Asia

Tokyo: Thanks to grant funding from the World Foundation, USAGSO has been working to expand Girl Scouting across Tokyo. Pre-COVID, there were many troops across Tokyo serving Girl Scouts at the U.S. Embassy, international schools and in expat communities. Many international residents left Japan during COVID, and Girl Scout presence shrank to just one troop at the U.S. Embassy. In MY25, USAGSO built new partnerships with the International School of the Sacred Heart and Tokyo International School, resulting in two new troops serving 20+ girls- the first new troops in Tokyo in five years. A special shout out to lead volunteer, Andrea Ronkowski, for making this work possible!

Seoul: In membership year 2025, with the World Foundation Grant, USAGSO was able to begin networking in Seoul. A partnership with the Embassy in Seoul, as well as Shuttle Delivery (a popular food delivery platform in South Korea), was secured. A troop was formed in April 2025 on Yongsan, with 10+ girls and four troop leaders, all military or embassy affiliated. This troop is prepared to continue in MY26 and MY27 and another troop is in the process of forming at Korean International School Pangyo as part of our paid facilitator pilot program.

Jeju: There are currently 12 girls and four adult leaders in the first ever Jeju troop, which began in February 2025. Interes hopes the main areas of Jeju.

Girl Scout Strong- Nike Partnership

With Nike’s support, USA Girl Scouts Overseas delivered the program Girl Scout Strong through two core programs - Once Upon a Champion in Germany and the Girl Scout Strong series in Germany and Korea-creating welcoming spaces for girls in military communities to build confidence through movement where access to sports can be limited.

The four-day Once Upon a Champion camp blended sports and storytelling, reaching USAGSO’s highest post-pandemic participation, while the six-week Girl Scout Strong Series engaged girls on military bases - including many new to Girl Scouts - through teamwork, communication and confidence-building activities.

By framing sports as movement rather than competition, girls connected more deeply and carried skills beyond the program. With the support of coaches and volunteers, these experiences expanded access and visibility-most importantly strengthening girls’ confidence, agency and sense of belonging as capable, resilient leaders.

Girl Scout Experience Box Program

The USA Girl Scouts Overseas Girl Scout Experience Box program continued to grow this year, with an impressive 122 Girl Scout Daisy and Brownie troops participating. These free boxes contain everything needed to have a fun and fulfilling troop meeting and is delivered monthly (to U.S.-style address

With these resources, Girl Scouts across 70 military communities and 52 Embassy and civilian communities are connected with meaningful activities and a shared global sisterhood. Reaching locations as diverse as Guam, Zambia, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia, the program provides Overseas Girl Scouts with a fun, engaging, and consistent Girl Scout experience no matter where in the world they call home.

The Girl Scout Experience Boxes have been really great for our troop. We have started with some of these activities, and the girls have thoroughly enjoyed them. Having the materials has really helped with the planning and execution, especially given that our troop is based in Yaoundé, Cameroon, where not all materials are easily available in the local markets. - Leader Meena

Camp USAGSO

In 2025, girls were given the opportunity to participate in every level of adventure! Programs offered ranged from rafting and outdoor rock climbing to hiking and beyond, plus traditional, week-long and mini camps were all offered, making up eight different sessions for girls to choose from. Locations of the Camp USAGSO programs included: Austria, Jeju Island, Taiwan, Slovenia, Portugal, Mexico, Minakami and Germany.

During our Taiwan camp session, Girl Scouts were able to participate in a cultural exchange with Girl Scouts of Taiwan- a highlight for all the campers who attended!

In September 2025, USAGSO hosted campout in Germany to strengthen v skills, expand outdoor programming community connections. As part of U 100th anniversary and the launch of Girl Scout year, a weekend campout Ansbach engaged 135 girls and volun

Girls participated in activities such a geocaching, tie-dye and campfires, w adults completed First Aid & CPR tra archery certification and new leader building capacity for continued prog delivery across the region.

Globetrotters Program

Globetrotters is a unique older girl experience for USAGSO Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors. As a Globetrotter, girls meet virtually for three months with USAGSO staff and volunteers as they plan and execute a trip that is completely chosen by them. Once everything is ready to go, they meet up and enjoy the fruits of their labor in a new place!

Two Globetrotters trips took place during MY25 including one to Amsterdam in October 2024 and one to Lisbon, Portugal in April 2025, with a total of 24 girls participating.

This program is a great way for girls to learn vital travel and planning skills that will take he future.

2024 Halloween Camp

Halloween Camp 2024 marked the 20th anniversary of the Halloween Camp partnership between U.S. and Japanese Girl Scouts! This tradition is all about U.S. and Japanese Girl Scouts having fun together, making new friends and amazing cross-cultural exchanges. There were 200+ attendees, 50+ pounds of candy given out, 30 hours of spooky fun, one wiggly tooth lost and endless memories made!

She Rises Up Fall Film Screening

Over 500 participants watched the film, She Rises Up, during our Fall Film Screening in October 2024. This included 12+ watch parties in Bahrain, Barcelona, Yokosuka, Wiesbaden, St. Thomas, Guam, Camp Zama, Brussels, Ansbach and Kaiserslautern.

Catch-A-Thon 2024 with Stall Catchers

In November 2024, 46 Girl Scouts in 10 countries on four continents made a huge impact on Alzheimer's research as part of a Citizen Science Project with Stall Catchers. In total, we accomplished eight days and 13 hours of lab-equivalent research. Our top catching countries were Japan, the United States and Italy.

STEMinist in Action

Since 2021, thousands of Girl Scouts around the worl have built confidence, curiosity and real-world STEM skills through USAGSO’s innovative STEMinist program. This global initiative is led by accomplished female professionals- our STEM Superheroes- who bring STEM careers to life through engaging, hands-o learning, with both virtual and in-person experiences

During the 2024-2025 membership year, USAGSO hosted in-person STEMinist events in Kadena, Japan (57 girls); Camp Humphreys, South Korea (79 girls); and Paris, France (62 girls). Hundreds of Girl Scouts also connected with inspiring STEM Superheroes, including founders, CEOs, scientists, architects, pharmacists, cybersecurity leaders, librarians and inventors, through our virtual series.

In addition, 119 Girl Scouts participated in overnight STEM experiences at the Euro Space Center, further expanding their exposure to science and space exploration.

Overall, in MY25, more than 400 Girl Scouts across 20+ countries engaged in STEMinist programming, strengthening their skills, broadening their global perspectives and envisioning themselves as future leaders in STEM fields.

Looking ahead, with the support of industry sponsors including Apex Clean Energy, Ørsted and the Women’s Energy Network Boston Chapter, the STEMinist Program will introduce a new Energy Superhero Patch in the fall of 2026. These sponsors, along with partners Brown Dog Gadgets, KidWind and STEM Superheroes, will take Girl Scouts on an electrifying journey into circuits, electricity and energy. More impact - and more Girl Scouts reached - are on the horizon in 2026.

USAGSO hosted its 4th annual event with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as part of Month of the Military Child activities in April 2025. The program, titled “Asteroids and Planetary Defense: NASA’s Mission to Protect Earth,” allowed Girl Scouts and their families to learn about asteroids, NASA’s planetary defense missions and the science behind asteroid redirection.

Over 300 girls and troops participated in this event, which included both virtual and in-person opportunities. Twelve in-person watch parties were held at various USAGSO communities including:

Highest Awards

In 2025, USAGSO celebrated 211 Bronze Award Girl Scouts, 83 Silver Award Girl Scouts and 20 Gold Award Girl Scouts. These awards are the highest awards a Girl Scout can earn and require extensive planning, coordinated execution and sustainability for years to come.

The hours of service back to their communities combined between the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver and Gold Award Girl Scouts for 2025 is more than 9,970 hours.

Adult Training

In MY25, USAGSO hosted several in-person adult training events including:

Our Overseas Volunteer Partners (OVPs) program continues to be a success in supporting the unique needs of USAGSO volunteers and staff by tackling operational, training and program development challenges, resulting in long-lasting transformations that enhance t Scout experience.

A new training was introduced to volunteers in the Child Protection Training course, which pr supervising adults of Girl Scout youth to recog respond to and report concerns of child abuse neglect, as well as how to create a space for gir safe and thrive.. National Adult Awards

Every year, USAGSO honors our dedicated volunteers by presenting the four national Adult Awards recognized by Girl Scouts of the USA. In May 2025, the following awards were given out:

Rebecca Dinari in France received the Thanks Badge II Award in May 2025. The Thanks Badge II is the highest Adult Award that can be received and recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult whose ongoing commitment, leadership and service has had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission, delivery goals and priorities of USA Girl Scouts Overseas and/or the entire Girl Scout Movement.

Girl Scout Cookie Program

USAGSO continues to shine around the globe, delivering a vibrant and meaningful cookie program despite the unique challenges of selling American food products overseas. During the 2025 cookie season, our Girl Scouts proved unstoppable- with 10 Stellar Sellers each exceeding 800 boxes, and our top seller from the Kadena military community achieving an impressive 1,311 boxes!

We also expanded the joy of in person cookie sales in two iconic cities, Paris and Rome. These new locations contributed to 1% of all USAGSO in person sales, showcasing both the strength of our global community and the growing enthusiasm for the cookie program worldwide.

Adding to the cookie excitement, USAGSO members from across the globe went all out to celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend in February by blinging their booths with creativity and spirit. Girl Scout Troop 80600 from Camp Zama in Japan shined the brightest, winning our Bling Your Booth prize drawing. It was an energizing, joyful weekend that showcased the passion and pride of our Girl Scouts everywhere!
