The Region's Only Mobile Stroke Unit
Time is critical for stroke victims. With every minute that passes, precious brain cells are lost. Quick treatment can preserve brain cells, save lives and improve recovery.
That’s why UR Medicine, in partnership with American Medical Response, has launched Upstate and Central New York's FIRST Mobile Stroke Unit - the 13th in the nation. The unit will help us provide specialized, life-saving care to stroke victims before they even get to the hospital.
UR Medicine has been committed to providing state-of-the-art stroke care across the region for years, and the Mobile Stroke Unit is the next step in those efforts.
The care provided by the Mobile Stroke Unit could save the lives of many members of our community – nearly 3,000 people in the Rochester region suffer from a stroke every year.
