The first volume in the Profiles and Breakthroughs series of the UP Forum magazine is a collection of some of the best feature articles first published in the UP System website (www.up.edu.ph) that focus on either a significant scientific or health-related breakthrough or project by UP researchers or a profile of a notable member of the UP Community contributing to the advancement of society through research in science, technology and the medical arts or through outstanding public service.
