PROGRAMMETIERS

Developing
Open to all pupils during Day Boarding. This tier is for students picking up a basketball for the first time or playing purely for recreation, health, and fun. It provides a highly energetic, supportive environment focused on fundamental motor skills, basic ball handling, and instilling a lifelong love for the game alongside the school core values of teamwork and discipline.
Individual
Designed for players across both the Performance and Developing tiers who require extra practice sessions. This tier provides personalised attention focusing entirely on individual skills such as shooting percentage, footwork, advanced ball handling skills, and different game situations.

Performance
Tailored for dedicated players representing our school basketball teams in domestic school tournaments and friendly fixtures This tier transitions players from basic skills into formal team play. It focuses heavily on team work, positional awareness, in-game decision making, and learning how to handle real competitive match pressure.

Global Showcase
An exclusive, high-performance tier reserved for elite student athletes tracking toward professional sports career, international athletic scholarships, overseas professional academies. This tier provides direct access to official international NBA camps and elite international tournaments. It focuses on elite profiling, advanced metric tracking, and putting players directly in front of overseas talent scouts and international head coaches.

Coach El-Sabbagh represented Egypt at international level for twenty years.
An African Championship gold medallist and the country's top-ranked 3x3 player for five consecutive years, he played in two World Cups and more than 200 tournaments across 35 countries, taking 37 championship titles.
Since 2023 he has worked within Basketball Operations for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and NBAAfrica, having previously served as Director of Basketball Operations for the Egyptian National Teams, where he oversaw fifteen national squads across the age groups. He is a certified Athlete Lifestyle Mentor through both FIBA and the UK's Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS).
His work at Uppingham is with the next generation. He mentors pupils in court strategy and performance, but equally in the discipline the game asks of them: balancing sport with academic study, managing pressure, and building the composure to compete well, on court and beyond

NBA International Youth Development Lead
Coach Elzomor brings a playing career that spans two countries and the highest levels of the competitive game.
She began at the age of ten, progressing through Gezira Sporting Club to the first team, and on moving to Canada in 1992 continued through school and club basketball, earning selection to the Canadian All-Star Team during her high-school years.
Representing Egypt internationally, she took second place in Africa and third in Arab competition. She now brings that experience to player development, with a particular focus on confidence, leadership, and the performance mindset that allows young players to compete at their best.
