editor's note Hey good people firstly I would like to wish myself a happy birthday on the 2nd of April, for the first time in my life my birthday is on Good Friday. As I grow a little older so does my work, it is still surprising that I create this beautiful magazine alone. We are trying to shift from sharing peoples biographies to interviewing everyone in our magazine, So what does that mean for people who are Not in Johannesburg, it means we will do the interviews on WhatsApp or Instagram. For people in Johannesburg you will have to come to our studio in Soweto for a Video interview which we will turn into text for our magazine. Jean campaign If I were to ask 10 people what is a Jean. Out of 10 people probably 5/10 would have different answers whereas others will not say anything. I am Siphosethu Campbell better known as Mister Meneer from my view I'd define a jean as an historical part of clothing that has always been part of fashion and more jeans are being made as creatives and fashion designers are coming up with new inventions. Here's the dictionary meaning of a jean quoted from Oxford: “Heavy twilled cotton cloth, especially denim." Jeans are a type of pants or trousers, typically made from denim or dungaree cloth. Often the term "jeans" refers to a particular style of trousers, called "blue jeans”, which were invented by Jacob W.Davis in partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. in 1871. There are many types of jeans but I'll mention a few with their description. Firstly is Straight-leg jeans which are jeans that appear to have a straight up-and-down fit through the entire leg. Secondly is the one of the most loved type of jean which is the Skinny jeans which are cut to be tight fitting throughout the leg. Thirdly the high-rise jean also known as high-waist jeans, they sit at your natural waist around your belly button. I Siphosethu Campbell came up with the idea of giving some information and an entire photoshoot based on a jean. The outfit consists of a jean shirt, Levi Strauss jean and shoes detailed with jean and as a prop for the shoot I included mini shoes exactly like the ones I'm wearing in the shoot (Isn’t that a bit of creativity). I just wanted to express the love I have for jeans because the history of jeans is passed on from one generation to the other and jeans are trousers that 90% of people's closet I'm sure we can find. There are so many ways of how one can rock a jean and jeans are comfortable, durable and stylish. Concluding this content I'd say that as everything has pros and cons, jeans have more advantages than disadvantages which are a significant thing you know. The jean industry is growing everyday which brings more job opportunities once again a positive thing.

Towards the end of 2020 opened another business venture LP Picnics. I met Leepile my former classmate when I came back from buying equipment and she asked me where I bought them because she wants to open Picnics Company but she wants a partner then we decided to join forces and take a partnership. I wanted to open a big catering
company

realized
it
needs
more
funding
which
I
don't
have.
We
started
with
couples
picnic,
birthday celebrations and baby showers. Since day one we have been getting so much support and I thank the people of Sasolburg for showing us so much love as young entrepreneurs.
My weakness is that I'm the commercial Law at Stadio Private Institution via distance learning. I made a timetable to study at home but it is hard to stick to it every day as sometimes we got clients during the week. So I have to compromise my studies to attend the client and later when I come I must study before I sleep.

LGBTQ+ HERO: RUDY'S STORY My name is Rudy Bessit and I’m a 38 year old colored male residing in the Westrand of Johannesburg. Until recently I used to identify as either gay or Bi, though I never felt completely comfortable with either, I now feel more like a non-binary gender fluid type of person. I just recently, from the end of December 2020, got to know and understand the true me. I always knew I was different and I was vocal about it and because of it I had a nightmarish childhood. My mother never tried to hide how much she hated the person I was. She told me to my face that she could not stand me. I was often compared to my father whom passed away when I was 3 years old. My mother told me that my dad was turning in his grave at me. She often stated how she wished that she could drop me off very far away at random strangers and send them money every month so that she never ever had to see me again. I could never stop loving my mother though I prayed about it, asking God to help me stop loving my mom because what she was doing to me did not hurt as much as the pain from the fact that someone that I loved so much would do what my mom was doing to me. Depending on my mom’s mood I’d be allowed to sit on her couches or not, speak or not, select songs to play or not, be part of a conversation or not... my mom would often beat me till I would have my mouth and or nose bleeding. On top of it all I had been raped since the age of 4 by multiple men of which some were boyfriends of my mom’s and later on became a self-diagnosed sex addict and got involved with drugs. The thing is, I managed to suppress most of these events from my memory and started getting flashbacks bit by bit in 2015, and prior to that it was as if these events never took place. Since December 2020 I’ve been getting flashbacks that’s polishing everything for me... the finer details to these events. I now remember the very first time I was raped and where it happened.
As a child I felt more than just gay, I was a boy and a girl. My mom, siblings and people around me disliked me and at some point I too started hating me. I became suicidal at the age of 6 and luckily I had 1 boy cousin whom I was very close with. I would tell him when I was abused physically at home and when I was raped and when my mom would declare her “hate” for me and I would tell him that I was considering suicide and he would talk me out of it. He was only a few years older than I, but I honestly can’t say what would have become of me if it was not for my cousin, very playful, but the wisdom he shared with me...

My mom took me to a witch doctor to try and change me and I can recall volunteering for these sessions with the sangoma coz at that stage all I wanted was to be a normal straight man and I was willing to try anything. Mom found out about her boyfriend’s raping me and not once did we go to the police, instead I got beaten up for it and told that I’d have AIDS before I turned 20years old, if I’d make to 20. She also trained me to forget the incidents by residing “forget” every time I would think of what happened. My mother always reminded me that I should finish my schooling quick so that I could go work and leave. She would tell me that I should do so well that I would be passed a grade higher in order to finish my schooling even quicker.
I dreamt of becoming an entertainer and I was told that I could never be. It was always hard choosing a career path and I could never understand why until I realized that it’s because THEY made me eliminate the 1one thing I really want, from my options. I realized this in 2012 and started to take action towards pursuing my dreams. I’ve since scripted a one man comedic stage production in which I portray 4 different characters. The main character which is a straight female, I portray during motivational speaking gigs based on the book I published in 2018. I wrote the book in 2017, but since completion of the book I’ve had so much more flashbacks that I’m working on a second book. I’ve also done standup comedy and MC gigs as my alter ego...this was until December when I realized that this character was actually that little girl in me I had to leave behind in my childhood. I’ve decided that I’ve endured too much pain and suffering to still reject a part of me that would always be part of me.
My flashbacks allowed me to deal with so much about myself that I didn’t even realize needed my attention. My unexplained short fuse and anger is explained. This was such an eye opener to me that no one is who they are just because and that everything is influenced by something. My recent flashbacks just made me grasp the importance of being myself at all times. I’ve been estranged from my family for the last 3 years and now realizing that I never really had a family though in my mind, in my reality I manipulated myself into believing that I was from a very loving family as a mechanism to cope. You cannot fix yourself if you don’t know what’s broken and you won’t know what’s broken if you keep avoiding the issue by means of alcohol, sex, drugs, gambling, etcetera.
I want to use my story to raise awareness and to motivate and encourage someone out there. My long term goal is to create platforms and engage with existing platforms to speak and let others speak and share their experiences. I want to get involved with the LGBTQ+ organizations and do my part. I herewith reach out to you to publish my story and also to point me in a direction where I could offer my services wherever I could be used to assist around LGBTQ+ and rape issues. Who is Precious? Precious is just a simple girl from ekasi in Soweto, I am 21year old and I am a aspiring Actress and model, I am very kind hearted, I am a simple girl, I am fun and outgoing. Who have you worked with so far? I have worked with Tiisetso, a man from bluetears images he owns a photo studio. What difficulties have you came across as an aspiring model? The difficulties I have come across is whereby a photographer would want a model to pay, you know, for example the is a brand that likes to work with me, instead of them paying me, they would want me to pay them, that is what my previous photographer use to do but I won't mention names, but yes he wanted me to pay to be part of the brand which was so confusing. Is modeling and acting what you always wanted to do growing up? Yes, I am in love with the camera, I am very comfortable and I just like the spotlight and the flickering of the lights on my face. If you had a choice to work with any brand or any photographer, who would you like to work with? Honestly I would like to work with Mr Price and Monate Shots, he is very good, trust me he is very good.

Where do you see yourself in 5years time and what steps do you think you have to take to see yourself there? I see myself on huge billboards advertising lingerie and swimwear.
The steps I would have to take are research and audition. Once you have made it in your modelling/acting career, how would you give back to the community? I would open an organisation which will protect models because in this industry you can't make it without connections, as we all know some agents and photographer want you to sleep with them for exposure and stuff so with my organisation when you join we would actually protect you from such. Who is Bobo Sway? Sway is an artist, a rapper, entrepreneur, hustlerpreneur an overall creative just trying to live his best live. Do you believe you can make a living from your music only? Honestly no and I will say why? You need to have multiple streams of income especially now during the Covid pandemic, it showed up that not only should you focus on stream or if your music is being sold, gig money, like have other legit avenues outside of your music, so personally, Nah. Since well you spoke about the Covid pandemic, in your own words when do you think it will end? I think with Covid 19 is just the introductory of what's about to come, I won't speak deep but the pandemic itself of Covid 19 being the flu might end but that doesn't mean pandemics as a whole will end, so this is just the first of something new and it is something that humans really need to adjust too, but Covid itself don't worry so Vala amachannel, it's going to end.

You have an album out, called Rookie Season, this album which is your favourite song and why? As much as I love all the songs, I really like the song which is number 9 on the album: "Opportunity of a lifetime".
I think it is self-explanatory but the reason why I like it is because the song was divided into three verses, so I got to take literally 3 segments of my life and put it together, in the first verse I took a segment from when I was outside in Seaview KZN and I was just remembering what was happening in my life. The second verse was about the group I was in, in high school and the music we made back then, like honouring that click. The third verse was basically me right now as an entrepreneur, as a hustlerpreneur ekasi Lami (my Hood). I decided to take those 3 segments and put them together and call it opportunity of a lifetime because as the chorus says: “all I can do now is grind because I know that I will shine". I got the words twisted but yes Opportunity of a lifetime. As someone who is trying to crack it into the music industry, do you feel they are enough opportunities for upcoming Artists in South Africa? Honestly I do, but the way it is being shown, I will give you an example, now because we live in a digital age, things like talent searches were A’s an R’s actually had to go to the club's or go out into the streets to find new talent, we can simply post a video on social media and hope for it to trend or hope someone in the industry will retweet, comment, acknowledge or notice us. The opportunities may not be there as much even though my answer was they are there, if they not there, I had to like look at the game or I had to say if the is no opportunity or way, I had to make or create my own opportunity, that how I felt is game right now.
The is a lot of exploitation going on in the entertainment industry, were you find artists having to pay to be part of a gig, you find models having to pay to be part of a gig or models having to pay to be brand ambassador for a certain brand, what is your opinion on this topic? I will explain it from both view, starting with the artists view, payola is f****d up, that R100 you paying,

investigating into that short time future, by short time I mean end of the night or the next morning when you will be compensated for the event because you put in something. From a business view, I think business are just tired of losing money, because maybe this person has the face, but maybe the person doesn't know how to bring in the numbers. It is messed up from both ends because talent is now taken out of the window, it is now about numbers and what value can you bring to the event, but what about that person who doesn't have that money, what about that person who traveledfrom a rural area to come to the event, that's where I feel as if the exploitation is kind of unfair, for myself as an artist, when you looking at from a business view you can see that the business only cares about the logistics and analytics.

Who is Lubelihle? She is a girl who grow up in a rural area in Zimbabwe, I can here to finish my studies in architecture, but then I realised I had the talent of being a model, so I decided to pageants in Capetown, since then, I think I have been doing great. Which pageants have you entered this year? I have not competed in any pageants yet this year but I have entered Miss Eloquence South Africa and I also entered Face of Nemash Capetown which is going to be on the 27th of April, but I am looking forward to entering more pageants this year. What do you think makes a model? I think what makes a model is being the real you, being honest with people around you and helping each other, maybe helping the needy outside, that's what makes a model, because if you are a model you can't just be thinking about yourself, you have to think about somebody out there who is looking up to you, who wants to be like you, so you have to give them a good example of being a successful model. What is your perception of beauty? My perception of beauty is, you don't have to be beautiful outside, so people can say she is beautiful, no. You have to be beautiful inside, you have to be a giver, you have to be a good person, that's what makes us Beautiful as people.
Since well you have done modelling in Capetown and Johannesburg, how is the modelling industry in both places? In Capetown I think I faced most difficulties because most of my family is here in Johannesburg, therefore I don't not have much support in Capetown, but here in Johannesburg I know a lot of people even most people from my Country are here, so I think for me the modelling industry is easy here in Johannesburg with the support. What advice would you give to young girls out there who want to be models? When I started modelling, I wasn't that person who can ask help from someone, I would struggle to get my registration fee, so that I can pay for a pageant, but now as a model I have learnt that it is ok to ask for help, it's ok to go to someone and say I have half the money and I need R150 to pay my registration fee, I am able to say ok can you help me with this and I will help you with this, before I use to be private, I didn't want people to know what I am lacking with or what I don't have, that's what people don't know about me.

Who is Dudu, a.k.a Queen D? My name is Duduzile Nyatthi, I am a model, actress and a musician, and I sing Amapiano, Afropop and Qgom music. As a freelance model, how do you get gigs? There are modelling and acting groups where all the agencies are there, so they just post work and if you interested you respond. There many scam artists out there, so how do you protect yourself as a freelancer? What I can say is whenever you get a post, you supposed to ask around, ask people, other models and actors, ask them if they know the person and how is the person paying? If the is a young lady out there who wants to be where you are today, what steps can she take or follow to get there? She should just look for an agency and that agency will teach her how to do modelling and everything. What are your goals or plans for the rest of 2021? This year I just wish I can get a role on one of our local soapies, because I was one a prostitute on Isidigo until it went off air, so now I am looking for another role and I also want my music to sell so that I will have money and become famous.
