How to Apply:

If you are a Firm or Insurance offer holder, or you have paid a deposit, you will be eligible to apply for accommodation. We strongly recommend that you apply by the priority deadline of Monday 20th July; however, you can still submit an application should you miss this deadline.

Please note that deadlines may vary for different cohorts, and we will advise you if you have a later deadline.

Step 1. Visit our website.

Visit the accommodation application page on our website accommodation.chester.ac.uk/apply

You will need your Student ID number, which you will find in your offer letter.

Step 2. Select your preferred accommodation.

The application form will ask you to select your preferred accommodation type, such as quiet accommodation, single-sex accommodation or alcohol-free accommodation.

After this, you’ll need to select your room preferences and rank your preferred room type from one to eight. It is also a good idea to have a budget in mind and prioritise accordingly when making your selection.

We recommend that you still apply even if you miss the deadline or have chosen Chester as your Insurance choice.

Step 3. Confirm your choices.

Once your application has been received and the priority deadline has passed, we will send you details of your allocation (this will be around late July/August time).

At the point of offer, you will be sent details of the full terms and conditions of the accommodation offer made. Applicants will be asked to pay a deposit of £250* to secure the room – this will later be returned as a deduction from your final term’s rent.

Step 4. Pay your deposit.

Once your application has been received and the priority deadline has passed, we will send you details of your allocation (this will be around late July/August time).

*Payments, terms, and processes will be slightly different from those referred to partner accommodation. You will be contacted by the university and our partners in the event of any referral.

Our Accommodation Guarantee

Good news! University or partnership accommodation is guaranteed for all students who have marked us as firm or paid a deposit, and who have applied by the priority deadline of Monday 20th July 2026.

“Living on campus was one of my favourite parts of my university experience. Being located in the centre of campus was extremely convenient, and I loved how there were always students around. I made so many friends from everyday moments – whether it’s bumping into people in the laundry room, playing pool in the common area, or setting up movie nights with the projector – there was always a friendly face nearby.”

Commuting Students

If you are considering living outside of your city of study, we offer lots of support to help make your university experience everything it should be. This includes social spaces, societies and induction events that make meeting other students and making friends easy. Chester has high quality transport links that make commuting to our sites straightforward.
