The exhibition is presented by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair/ BolognaFiere in collaboration with United Nations Publications and supported by the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Every year, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair recognizes outstanding children’s books with its BolognaRagazzi Award. This prestigious award highlights beautifully designed and innovative illustrated books from around the world.
This exhibit features more than 170 outstanding illustrated children’s books from across the globe, which were selected from submissions to the BolognaRagazzi Award’s annual special category dedicated to Sustainability in 2025.
Each featured title engages with one or more of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as set out in the 2030 Agenda. Inspired by the SDG Book Club, the exhibition underscores the power of children’s literature to foster awareness, empathy, and meaningful action.
Selected from hundreds of submissions and spanning picture books, graphic novels, and non-fiction, these works exemplify imaginative storytelling, artistic excellence, and cultural diversity, showing how literature can help young readers navigate global challenges and recognize their role in shaping a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable future.
The collection is further enriched by a special showcase of exceptional Italian titles devoted to the 17 Goals.
