The 2026 football season marks a historic new chapter for UWF as our Argonauts take the field for the first time at the NCAA Division I level. This moment represents the culmination of years of hard work, determination and belief from our student-athletes, coaches, supporters and the entire UWF community. Since the first season in 2016, UWF football has built a legacy defined by excellence. In just 10 years, the Argos have competed for championships, raised trophies and made history — and now, we’re taking the next step. With a new level of competition and a new stadium on the rise thanks to the extraordinary generosity of Darrell and Debbie Gooden and so many others, our studentathletes will compete on a stage worthy of their ambition, and our fans will have a game day experience like never before. I’m grateful to Head Coach Kaleb Nobles, his coaching staff and our entire UWF Athletics team for the leadership and commitment they bring to this program every day. I’m also thankful for the energy and spirit our cheerleaders, Argo Athletic Band and Army ROTC Argonaut Battalion bring to game day, as well as the fans who have believed in our Argos every step of the way. Most of all, I want to thank our student-athletes for choosing to be Argos and for representing UWF with pride, resilience and heart. You are at the center of this historic moment, and we couldn’t be more proud to have you lead us into this new era. Our first Division I football season is here. Let’s make history together. UWF is coming off a bye week at 2-0 with wins over No. 16 Southern Illinois in the season opener, 34-31 and a dominating 42-14 win over No. 24 Central Arkansas. It is the first time in history that a new team in the FCS has beaten a pair of nationally-ranked opponents to open up their inaugural season. Starting quarterback Ty’Ray Davis continues to lead the Argos’ offense and is coming off his best game in a win over Central Arkansas. Davis completed 14of-17 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown. His performance earned him the UAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week following the game. Can cornerback A’Khoury Lyde continue his pick six streak into the third game of the season? The redshirt senior has scored twice for the Argos with a 44 yard interception return against SIU and a 37 yard return against UCA. The Argos are averaging 38 points per game while the Governors are giving up just over 17 points per game. Will Ty’Ray and the UWF offense continue its success against a stout defense? The Argos offensive line, which has been dominant so far this season will be the big piece on how this offense keeps thriving.

APU is led by quarterback Chris Parson who’s thrown for five touchdowns and is averaging 228 passing yards per game. He is helped by a pair of speedy wideouts Denver Harper and Marvin Sims who’ve collected 19 receptions between the two players.

HEAD COACH CALEB NOBLES
Kaleb Nobles was hired as the head football coach at UWF on Dec. 13, 2022. He became the second head coach in program history. In 2025, Nobles was named the AFCA Super Region 2 Head Coach of the Year after leading the Argos to a 10-1 regular season record and a No. 2 seed in Super Region 2.

- Under his guidance, Nobles has had six GSC Players of the Year, 41 GSC All-Conference players, one region Player of the Year, seven All-Americans and one Harlon Hill Finalist
- Earned berth in Orange Bowl against Tennessee in 2022 - 10-3 record in 2021
- Developed quarterback Austin Reed who was named the National Freshman of the Year in 2019. Reed threw for 4,089 yards and 40 touchdowns while also running for six scores.
- Coached First Team All-American linebacker and GSC Defensive Player of the Year Ja’Kobe Clinton
- In 2019 the quarterback group established a program records of 56.8-percent completion percentage, 148.6 passing efficiency and 411.9 total yards of offense per game.
- Nationally-ranked coming into the 2025 season - No. 11 (D2Football.com) and No.8 in the AFCA Poll.
- Coached QB Mike Beaudry in 2017 who was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year.
- Defensive end Traevon Mitchell was named the GSC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and and All-American
- The 2017 team advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.
- Wide Receiver Corey Scott was named the GSC Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year
- Played four seasons as a quarterback at Valdosta State University from 2012-2015; Appeared in 23 games and had six starts as a freshman and sophomore; threw for 2,009 yards and 19 touchdowns with the Blazers
- Return Specialist Virgil Lemons was named an AFCA All-American as the top punt returner in the country. Lemons was also signed UDFA by the Tennessee Titans - The team had its highest GPA in program history in 2025 of 3.01 - Wide Receiver John Jiles and defensive end John McMullen were named first team All-Americans. McMullen was named the GSC Defensive Player of the Year - Ralph Ortiz was named the 2023 GSC Defensive Freshman of the Year. - John Jiles signed as an UDFA with the NY Giants and was later signed to the practice squad with the New England Patriots

- Transferred to West Florida in 2016 to join the startup program as QB; threw for 3,058 yards and 28 touchdowns - Had six games with at least 300 yards passing, including a 503-yard, 6-TD performance in the win over Missouri S&T in the inaugural home game on Sept. 10, 2016. That passing mark ranks tenth all-time in GSC single-game history. PERSONAL - Born in Jacksonville, Fla. and attended high school in Fitzgerald, Ga.

- Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Valdosta State
- Assisted with quarterbacks and wide receivers & all game planning and preparation
- Holds a Master’s degree in Health Leisure and Sport Science from UWF - He and his wife, Katy – a former UWF women’s volleyball student-athlete and Argo

STADIUM POLICIES CLEAR BAG POLICY • Each ticket holder is allowed one large clear bag such as a one-gallon Ziploc style bag or clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag that does not exceed 12” by 6” by 12”. Those requiring necessary items (e.g., diapers for a baby, medical prescriptions, etc.) are encouraged to carry them into the stadium in a clear plastic bag. Fans are encouraged to bring ONLY necessary items to football games at Pen Air Field. Standard small clutch purses are allowed, but cannot exceed 4.5 x 6.5 inches in size. All subjects and items are subject to search. • The following bags will not be allowed into the stadium: Backpacks, luggage, large purses, drawstring bags, fanny packs, briefcases, coolers, computer bags etc. are prohibited. Only officially credentialed UWF Approved photographers can enter the stadium with camera bags.

MARKETING / PROMOTIONS / SOLICITATION • UWF has a no solicitation policy and reserves all marketing and promotions rights at its’ events, including: • Promotional vehicles and signs. • Only UWF Athletics sponsors/ partners may be granted the right to have a presence at its’ venues, parking lots, and tailgating locations. For more information please call 850-474-3057. • Media rights (video, streaming, social, and audio). • Any signage or promotional activities placed or conducted within or around the stadium/arena/fields or parking/tailgating areas used for athletic events on game day, without the express written consent of UWF Athletics is prohibited and is grounds for immediate removal at the owner’s or group’s expense. • Promotion of any business, political organization, venue, enterprise, product, service, organization not authorized by UWF Athletics. • In compliance with the UWF Grounds and Facility Use Policy, no solicitation is allowed during tailgating on game day (pre-game, during game, or post-game). The offering or handing out of any item or flyer is not permitted without written consent of UWF Athletics. • Alcohol advertisements are not allowed any time on UWF property or at any athletic venue. This type of advertising includes banners, flyers, signs, and vehicles unless in
conjunction with university alcohol education initiative (approved by UWF Athletics).
FAN/PATRON CONDUCT
• The NCAA and UWF support good sportsmanship and will not tolerate abusive actions, language, or gestures from fans, players, coaches or officials. Extreme or continued acts of unsportsmanlike behavior may be grounds for dismissal from the contest. Inappropriate language or actions directed towards UWF Athletics personnel, ushers, or police officers will not be tolerated and may be grounds for immediate removal from PenAir Field and the UWF Campus.
