MECHANICAL/AEROSPACE ENGINEER AND PILOT Bella, a transfer student and mechanical engineering major, had a life-changing internship experience at Burlington-based Beta Technologies, a supernova in the emerging field of electric aviation. During her internship, Bella led the design and build of a remote-controlled flying model of one of Beta’s planes. But she didn't just work on engineering the aircraft—she learned to fly them. Now, she’s a design engineer at another innovative aerospace company in California, pushing the future of flight forward.
Estee Dilli ’ 15
SENIOR ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST, PFIZER
Estee and her colleagues at Pfizer completed the project of a lifetime—and created a lifeline for billions around the globe. Pfizer’s vaccine became the first proven inoculation against COVID-19 approved for distribution. As an assay developer for the pharmaceutical company, Estee—a former neuroscience major and D1 athlete in Swimming and Diving—worked tirelessly to help establish the specific controls that would be used to measure immune responses to the virus and vaccine. The impact of her months-long work continues to be felt to this day.
