UVM offers several early application options: Early Decision I (deadline November 1), Early Decision II (new this year; deadline January 15), and Early Action (deadline November 1). The Regular Decision deadline is January 15. Our test optional policy continues for students applying Fall 2025 through Fall 2026. Students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores, but are welcome to do so if they feel it will contribute to their academic record. A holistic review of each applicant continues to be the center of our approach to enrolling a diverse group of students that strengthens the UVM community.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

UVM continues its commitment to ensuring access and affordability for all students and we are dedicated to providing timely financial aid offers to admitted students. To protect students from any delays in FAFSA processing and to enhance our ability to award need-based financial aid resources effectively, UVM will require both the CSS Profile and the FAFSA for students applying for need-based financial aid.

New STEM Scholars Program STEM Scholars: Leading Change is a cohort-based learning community focused on developing future leaders in STEM dedicated to becoming change agents in inclusive excellence. Scholars will participate in research, intergroup dialogue, self-advocacy, and leadership activities while completing their degree starting with a six-week summer bridge program taking coursework, working in a research lab, and developing technical skills. Admitted Early Action and Early Decision I applicants in eligible STEM majors are considered for Scholars by invitation. Enrolled Scholars will have full financial need, as determined by UVM, met for up to 4 years (via a combination of University, Federal and State grants, scholarships, need-based loans and/or Work Study contingent on good academic standing and full-time enrollment in an eligible STEM major).

The Vermont Pitch Challenge gives high school entrepreneurs from across the globe the chance to pitch innovative business ideas that make a difference in their communities. Along the way, participants will also learn from top experts about how to write a business plan and create a compelling pitch–all while competing for cash prizes and a full scholarship to UVM.
