BSN Degree Completion (BSN) PROGRAM OVERVIEW SCAN TO VIEW THE CURRICULUM FOR THIS PROGRAM
The BSN Degree Completion program emphasizes critical thinking and decision making necessary for practicing professional nursing. Coursework addresses current topics in nursing such as informatics, research, and ministry of nursing. The program prepares students for ongoing, emerging functions in health care such as home health, managed care, primary care clinics, public health and hospice care. A variety of issues are addressed in the curriculum and capstone leadership courses. USF nursing courses use real-world experiences and simulations to reinforce application in the workplace. Many adults have experienced college-level learning outside the traditional classroom. The Prior Learning Assessment Program is a portfolio process in which the student receives college credit for work and life experiences that are deemed equivalent to USF courses. Up to 33 semester hours of college credit may be awarded through the Prior Learning Assessment Program, including Military, CLEP and DANTES credits.
