FOUNDED The University of St. Francis is a private, Catholic university founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate and now sponsored by the Third Order Franciscan University Alliance.
LO C AT I O N USF's quaint, residential campus is located in Joliet, Illinois, just 35 miles southwest of Chicago. The main campus is situated in the historic Cathedral Area, and is connected to USF's St. Clare campus by a convenient shuttle service. Joliet is easily accessible by major interstates (I-55 & I-80), by rail, and by air through Chicago’s Midway and O’Hare Airports.
