Welcome!

At the University of Kentucky, every student has the opportunity to grow, thrive and succeed during their time as a Wildcat. One of the best ways to do this is by joining a student organization that surrounds you with like-minded individuals who share your drive and goals.

I want to personally invite you to sign up for Interfraternity Council (IFC) Formal Recruitment this fall. Joining a fraternity is one of the best ways to get involved on campus, develop personal and professional skills and build a strong support network that will help you succeed throughout your college experience. With more than 20 chapters on campus, there is a place for everyone – and we are confident you will find a chapter that helps you become the best version of yourself.

As a fraternity member, I can confidently say that joining Greek life has been one of the best decisions of my life. When I came to college, I had no club experience, but my chapter pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, take on leadership roles and grow in ways I never expected. Two and a half years later, I hold some of the most significant leadership positions on campus, have built an incredible network of friends and mentors and am the happiest I have ever been. The fraternity experience is about more than just four years. It is about setting yourself up for a lifetime of success by surrounding yourself with people who will challenge and support you every step of the way.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope you register for Fall 2025 IFC Formal Recruitment, we look forward to seeing you at our events!

Why Join an IFC Fraternity?

BELONGING AND BROTHERHOOD

“In the Interfraternity Council, there is a place for everyone. Our chapters do a very good job of making sure everyone who joins the IFC Brotherhood finds their place. In the IFC, everyone belongs!”

Mark Chocola, Beta Theta Pi

“Joining a fraternity has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone. It has encouraged me to be more involved both on and off campus. I learned that being a brother in a fraternity is not solely about the parties but about creating memorable experiences with those around you. Through these experiences, I have forged valuable connections and memories. Arriving at college, I felt nervous about finding my place. I am grateful I discovered it within my fraternity.”

– RJ Temple, Phi Kappa Tau

COMMITMENT AND SUCCESS

“Being involved in a fraternity has motivated me to perform at my highest capability in the classroom. This is thanks to the amazing resources made available and endless support within the organization. I am honored to be part of a fraternity.”

– Nolan Heimburch, Sigma Pi

“Joining a fraternity has allowed me to accelerate my academics and involvement in my time at UK. Having fraternity brothers I can count on to support me and push me to accomplish my goals is invaluable to my success in the future. I am so grateful for my fraternity and IFC for helping me achieve my goals in college throughout this year and giving me opportunities to grow as a scholar and a person.”

WORDS OF ADVICE

“Experience as many chapters as possible and find somewhere the members embody your goals/values. Try using your time as efficiently as possible, recruitment flies by. Make sure to ask questions so you are making the best decision for you!”

– Teague Howell, Sigma Nu

“Don’t be hesitant to meet new people when you first arrive to UK. Especially during recruitment. Some of those guys will end up being your closest friends in the long run. “

– Hayden Barzoff, Phi Kappa Tau

“Keep an open mind and be yourself during the recruitment process. Don’t just stick to what’s familiar, take the time to visit every chapter and have real conversations. You might click with people you never expected. Brotherhood isn’t just for four years; it’s about finding the guys who’ll challenge you, support you and find connections that could last a lifetime. The more you put into the process, the more you’ll get out of it.”
