As one of the most respected dental schools in the country, we are committed to attracting and retaining top students who will soon shape our proud profession and change lives. These future dentists will play a central role in the new integrated model, ensuring oral health is at the forefront of health care. At the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, our students have access to state-of-the-art technology and worldclass faculty. Under the supervision of faculty, these students see patients in a clinical setting, gaining handson experience. Many of these students also work in the community, partnering with local organizations to promote dental health. Scholarship support helps us attract these top students, and we have awarded more than $3.7 million in scholarships and student awards over the past decade. This scholarship support ensures students can focus on their education with less concern about the financial burden of pursuing a career in dental medicine. Dr. Stansbury is one example of the top talent we seek to recruit and retain. As a polymer chemist, a materials scientist and biomaterials engineer, his expertise is impacting health care across the spectrum. He has collaborated with the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to create a new drug release delivery system. Dr. Stansbury’s lab has a longstanding collaboration with CU Boulder’s bioengineering department to develop innovations in aerospace technology, and his work with shape memory polymers has been utilized in orthopedic and ophthalmologic procedures.
