2018 Campaign is Underway!
The United Way of Greater Kingsport (UWGK) kicked off its 2018 Community Campaign last week, announcing a fundraising goal of $3.5 million. The event was held at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce Brock Terrace as a Juice 'n Java event where Kingsport Chamber Board Chair Bob Feathers welcomed guests and highlighted the upcoming restaurant campaign where various community businesses will be hosting United Way promotional events, including East Coast Wings & Grill. Feathers then introduced Keith Parker, Eastman Manager, and UWGK's 2018 Campaign Chair. Parker announced UWGK's goal of $3.5 million, introduced UWGK's Campaign Theme - United We Fight. United We Win. - and outlined how the donors and workplace campaigns who give to United Way are a part of creating positive, long-lasting change in the community. UWGK 2018 Campaign Vice-Chair, Michelle Bacon, Manager, Contractor Training and Medical Center for Brock's Eastman Kingsport site, publicly thanked the nineteen pacesetter companies that had already raised $2,227,673.00, or 64% of UWGK's overall goal. Andy Wampler, UWGK Board President and attorney with Wilson Worley, concluded by inviting all to GIVE, ADVOCATE, and VOLUNTEER to join the fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community.

Caroline Wright, Communications Coordinator Caroline is a recent graduate of Milligan College where she majored in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations/Advertising. In her role as Communications Coordinator Caroline creates internal and external communications for United Way through our social media, newsletter, Volunteer Kingsport site, and event planning. In her spare time, Caroline enjoys playing co-ed softball, running, recycling, and spending time with her husband Logan.
Joy Shoun, Initiatives Manager - Drug Abuse After graduating from ETSU with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology, Joy entered into a career in law enforcement and began working as a patrol officer for the Elizabethton Police Department. During her 15 years with the department she woked in many capacities, serving the last five years as the Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division and Narcotics Unit. Joy joins UWGK to oversee the new impact work around Drug Education, Prevention, and Intervention.
