Experience the artistry of internationally acclaimed guitarist Xavier Jara, winner of the prestigious GFA International Concert Artist Competition. The evening concert will highlight a performance by the Guitar Festival Orchestra and winners of the Youth Competition.

We’re opening the dance floor with DJ Saffiro spinning a vibrant vinyl bilingual set mixing salsa, bachata, and cumbia. The party starts with a complimentary dance lesson by Karlies Kelley-Vedula.

The Painted Path: A Guided Tour of Murals and Heritage

July 9, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Explore the rich history of Milwaukee’s Hispanic/Latino community through exhibits, murals, and public art across the UCC campus. Guided by Jacobo Lovo, families will learn, reflect on community art, and create their own sidewalk art inspired by the tour.

Talavera Birdhouses

July 16, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Explore this traditional folk art from its roots in the Middle East and Spain to its place in the ever-evolving folk art traditions of Mexico and Latin America. Construct and paint your own Talavera-style birdhouse to take home in this family-friendly workshop!
