Spring buying season is fast approaching, which means it is time to brush up on recasting! With a mortgage recast, buyers can close on their new home now and, once their old home sells, apply the sale proceeds as a large principal payment; we then reamortize the loan to lower their monthly payment without changing the rate or term.

UNIONHOME UNIVERSITY
Congratulations to UHM’s 2026 Future Leaders Cohort!
Union Home University is thrilled to congratulate our Future Leaders cohort as they graduate from our Future Leaders program this month!
Throughout the program, our Future Leaders cohort has deepened their understanding of what it takes to be a successful and impactful leader. The program began with a deep dive into the DISC assessment, helping participants better understand behavioral styles and how they influence communication, teamwork, and performance. From there, they focused on how to navigate difficult conversations with confidence and professionalism, equipping participants with practical strategies for addressing conflict and providing constructive feedback.
Our Future Leaders gained a comprehensive knowledge of how UHM operates and generates revenue throughout the retail, wholesale, and consumer direct channels. They also explored how UHM is integrating and applying artificial intelligence into its tools and workflows to drive efficiency for our partners and better serve our customers.
Throughout the program, our Future Leaders practiced effective leadership skills, including clear and impactful communication, integrity, emotional intelligence, empowering team members, and building strong networks with leadership across the organization.
Anna Landis, TPO Partner Advocate Team Lead, reflected on her experience in the program over the past few months. "The Future Leaders program has been a game changer for my overall growth at UHM! I have had the opportunity to build connections across the company and have gained more confidence in myself. I would highly recommend the Future Leaders Program for anyone who is looking to grow personally and professionally!"
Nicholas Massey, LOA Team Lead, also shared his experience with the program and the impact it has had on his growth. "Being a part of Future Leaders has been a game changer for me. The entire experience has taught me how to guide a team toward a shared goal. It has equipped me with the knowledge and understanding of a true leader. I'm very grateful for Ticia and all of the guest speakers that took the time to encourage, teach and inspire us to be the best leaders we can be."
Our final cohort session and graduation will take place on March 18 and 19. We are thrilled to see their continued growth and see them apply their leadership knowledge moving forward!

SECURITY AWARENESS
Think Before You Click: Remember the SLAM Check for Emails
Every day, we all receive emails that look routine, but some are designed to trick us. To help keep our company safe, remember the SLAM method whenever something in an email feels even slightly off.
Sender: Check who the email is from and make sure the name and email address truly match the person or company you expect.
Links: Pause before clicking links and make sure they go where they claim to go, especially if the message creates urgency.
Attachments: Be cautious with attachments you weren’t expecting, even if they appear to come from someone you know.
Message: Read the message carefully and watch for pressure, unusual requests, or wording that doesn’t sound quite right.
A few extra seconds using SLAM can prevent security issues and help protect everyone; when in doubt, don’t click and report it.
Phishing Reminder
PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE YOUR “REPORT PHISH” BUTTON IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF OUTLOOK!
QUICK TIP: The “Report Phish” button is also available on mobile! Reference this SupportU article on how to report these emails: Article

March TECHtalk
The TECHTalk topic for March will be “Managing Teams with Teams” , with two sessions scheduled at 2 PM on March 10 and March 24. This webinar will include:
Difference between chats and channels
Functionality of Teams channels
How to manage a team with Teams
Be on the lookout for an invite within the next few days!
TECHtalks have been refreshed to make them more flexible and accessible for partners. Instead of a traditional live presentation, scheduled TECHtalk webinars now play the recorded video, while the presenters are available live to answer questions in real time. This format ensures consistent content delivery while still giving partners the opportunity to interact, ask questions, and get clarification during the live session.
Can’t join the webinars? Don’t worry! Recordings from previous sessions can be found on the TechTalk SupportU Page.

March Conversation Starter
March invites curiosity, fresh perspectives, and new ways to connect. This month, reach out to another partner for a relaxed Coffee + Conversation and explore the prompt below:
If you could instantly become fluent in any language, which one would you choose—and why?
This is a great way to spark conversation about culture, travel, family background, communication styles, and what inspires us to connect with the world around us.
Share Your Language Skills!
Along with this month’s theme, we’re adding to our Partner Language Skills survey where we gather information from partners who are fluent in another language or who use additional languages in their work or community.
If you speak a language beyond English, we need you! Your insights help us better support the diverse population of partners and borrowers we are connected to and support our inclusion efforts.
Interested? Scan to complete the quick survey and share your language strengths.

HOME&HEALTH
MARCH HOME TIPS:
Remove leaves, pine needles, and other debris that have accumulated in your gutters over the winter so your system is ready to handle spring showers.
Remove dust and debris that have accumulated on the AC condenser (the big metal box outside your house) so that the AC works efficiently.
Start bringing your yard back to life now, before temperatures warm up for real. Remove branches and stones, and use your lawn mower with a catch bag to make short work of dead leaves and twigs.
Clean your siding to get rid of dirt and grime that can cause mildew and shorten its lifespan. As a bonus, the exterior of your home will look fresh and clean for spring
Inspect exterior caulking and repair any that was battered during the winter. Check around your windows, doors, and corner trim to prevent water infiltration and avoid costly repairs.
For shortcuts and ballpark estimates if you’d rather call in a pro, read the full article here!

WELLNESS TIPS:
Ways to Improve Your Well-Being at Work
Stay Hydrated: When work gets hectic, you may forget about healthy habits like drinking enough water. Use a refillable water bottle to track your intake.
Find Time for Lunch: Schedule time for lunch every day. If possible, eat away from your work space so you can focus on your meal and enjoy your downtime.
Make Minutes Matter: Allow breaks throughout the day. Even 5-10 minutes between meetings will give you time to decompress, use the bathroom, stretch your legs or get some fresh air before diving back into work.
Practice Gratitude: Celebrate small wins throughout the day. Keep a journal at your workspace where you write down all of your successes. Encourage coworkers to do the same and share something from your lists at the start of your next meeting to highlight progress.
