MEDINA SWAT Medina Country Club Members, We would like to introduce the 2022 SWAT tournaments here at Medina Country Club. The SWAT’s will be held on August 12th. For the SWAT’s, a Medina Country Club member can bring up to three guests at no guest fee charge, cart fees are not included. The total entry fee is $75 per player. The entry fee includes lunch, dinner, and merchandise payouts. The format is a Shamble 2 of 4. Lunch is at 11:30 AM, shotgun is at 1:00 PM, and dinner is at 5:30 PM. A LETTER from Rob P. Dear Members,

A couple of weeks have passed since our annual Men’s Invitational, and the entire staff is still getting feedback for a great event. On behalf the club, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the members and guests that participated, and our amazing staff that made it a very successful event. The golf, services, and the food and beverage were outstanding, and we’re already planning for improvements for even a better event in 2023! Congratulations to Greg and Ron Kencson as our 2022 Medina Invitational Champions! As we focus our attention to August, we have some great events planned and coming up this month. Please remember to sign up on Golf Genius for the SWAT event, August 12th and Club Championship, August 21st and 22nd. We look forward to your participation and making these events a success. Its hard to believe that August is already here, and the kids will be going back to school. We look forward to making the back half of the year a successful one at Medina Country Club. KITCHEN updates

Hard to believe that summer is almost over! After a busy July, the kitchen is excited to continue the momentum into August. In addition to our monthly Wing Wednesday and Italian Night, we are looking forward to our first annual SWAT Golf Event which will include lunch, golf, and a Prime Rib buffet to end the day. We will also introduce our new Dessert Menu which Will feature Homemade Southern Banana Pudding and Fresh baked Pies. In addition, we are starting to plan for two clambakes this fall. Any culinary questions or concerns feel free to contact me at any time. See you at the club!

JIM WISE GOLF ACADEMY There were some special things that happened at Medina Country Club during July that we want to share with you. Junior Golf was full-throttle in July. PGA Junior League 13U is wrapping up. We had wonderful matches and experiences on Thursday and Friday nights including a Holein-One on Friday, July 8th. Lucas Massa, age 11, aced the 7th hole on the red 9. A week earlier, we had an NCAA National Championship trophy on the premises. A former student of Jim’s is currently playing at the University of Findlay. The women’s golf team at Findlay won the NCAA Division 2 National Championship last year. Jordan Pruitt and Coach Justin Roth visited our PGA Junior League before our matches on July 1st and brought the trophy. What an inspirational moment we had with the young players. PGA Junior League 17U finished with Team Top Gun claiming the league championship. We wish all of the 17U players the best of luck in their upcoming high school season.

Medina Country Club was the site of one of 5 local qualifying sites in northern Ohio for the national Drive Chip & Putt program. We had 170 juniors at Medina CC on July 24 to participate. This was the largest qualifier in northern Ohio. We are also proud to be hosting some practices for the Special Olympic golf program from this area. These practices are taking place late July into early August on Sunday afternoons. Most of the group programs that the Academy run are finished for the season or are wrapping up. If you have been trying to get a private lesson and it’s taken a few weeks to get in, the schedules should open up as the group programs finish up. August & September are great times to work on your game. First of all, you know exactly what area of your game needs the most work. Second, you may need a tune-up for some of those important late season events. Third, it’s a great time to start making some changes to your swing.

First and foremost, thank you to all Members and Guests that participated in the 2022 Men’s Invitational. Congratulations to Ron and Greg Kencson on winning the Invitational. The Invitational was a huge success! Our members and their guests really enjoyed themselves. The event truly showcased the best that Medina Country Club has to offer. The event format, food and beverage operation, and the golf course all played a huge role in the events success. I want to thank the entire Golf Operations staff. The hard work of Rob Jersan, Henry Neumann, Tom Waitrovich, Jim & Theresa Wise, and the entire MCC golf operations staff, made this an Invitational to remember. Their attention to detail and dedication is second to none. I would also like the thank Rob Preseren, Chef Rick Fagert, Stephanie Anaya, and Dave Hershey & staff. The planning, preparation, and paying attention to the fine details made the event successful. Our motto for this event was “this is our Master’s tournament” and it was treated as such. The team here at Medina wanted to make the 2022 Men’s Invitational very special as it plays a part in all the wonderful changes and improvements taking place in 2022.
