Molly Curtis, in recognition of a programme of work entitled; “Development and validation of a reflective tool to measure compassionate care for older people in health and social care settings”. The programme of work was carried out under the direction and supervision of Dr Juping Yu and Professor Carolyn Wallace, Faculty of Life Sciences and Education.
Sarah Gill, in recognition of a programme of work entitled; “The Development and Evaluation of an Empathy Intervention for Nursing Students: Using the Medical Research Council Framework”. The programme of work was carried out under the direction and supervision of Dr Juping Yu, Professor Deborah Lancastle and Dr Gareth Parsons, Faculty of Life Sciences and Education, in collaboration with Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board.
Abraham Olaniyi Nathan Makanjuola, in recognition of a programme of work entitled; “Enhancing the Social Return on Investment methodology for the evaluation of Social Prescribing interventions in Wales that promote mental health and wellbeing”. The programme of work was carried out under the direction and supervision of Professor Carolyn Wallace, Dr Sarah Wallace and Professor Mary Lynch, Faculty of Life Sciences and Education.
Rachel Swanick, in recognition of a programme of work entitled; “Understanding therapeutic support for adoptive families through the golden thread of attachment theory, constructionism and creative arts therapies”. The programme of work was carried out under the direction and supervision of Professor Carolyn Wallace, Dr Michelle Culwick and Dr Elizabeth Coombes, Faculty of Life Sciences and Education.

Let it be known by members of the University and all here present that a congregation of the University of South Wales is held in the City of Newport on the twenty-sixth day of January, 2026.
Today, we honour scholars who have demonstrated, through their intellect and scholarly effort, that they are qualified to be admitted to the degrees and qualifications of the University.
In honouring their achievement, let all here present recognise their dedication and celebrate their success.
We invest in them our hope and expectation that they will put their talent and learning at the service of their professions and our communities. We trust that they will contribute to the future of our society with honour and distinction.
