This report, available in its Azerbaijani version, is part of a project funded by the EU and implemented by UNICRI. The report aligns with international conventions and guidelines, and showcases effective accelerated methods for the confiscation of illicitly-acquired assets, including through non-conviction-based forfeiture. It is essential for policymakers and law enforcement, aiming to strengthen the rule of law and promote transparency. Effective asset recovery has significant implications for sustainable development and stability, directly contributing to the goals of peace, justice, and strong institutions as outlined in Goal 16 of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
