The new issue of 1540 Compass (Issue 5 | January 2026) is now available. The journal supports the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolution 1540, which aims to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction by non-State actors.
This fifth issue focuses on disrupting proliferation in finance and trade, examining how financial flows, international trade and emerging technologies can be misused to facilitate proliferation activities, as well as the regulatory and operational measures required to address these risks effectively.
The issue opens with an interview with Eloy Alfaro de Alba, Permanent Representative of Panama to the United Nations and Chair of the 1540 Committee.
