storylines: 1. WHAT TO KNOW

- The Ospreys look to pick up a win for the first time since Sept. 8 against Georgia Southern, while also scoring their first goal since Sept. 12 against FAU. - This is the sixth game played in Jacksonville over the past eight games for UNF with two more home games on deck. - Outside of Stetson, UNF has the best overall record in the ASUN highlighted by marquee comeback victories over Winthrop and Georgia Southern. - UNF is in the middle of a stretch where they will play four teams from the state of Florida over five games. - The Ospreys continue to lead the conference in team goals against average at 1.125, which ranks 61st in the nation. - They are coming off a match against NC State where they held the Wolfpack to only five total shots and one shot on goal. - Bendeguz Burka, Herbie Steigelman and Jaylen Yearwood have started in all seven matches with Steigelman leading the team in playing time at 705 minutes. - Burka is set to play in his 60th game as an Osprey in his career, while Steigelman is also on course for the 60th start of his UNF career. - Luc Granitur remains the team leader in goals (3) and SOG (5), while Joaquin Acuna leads in shots (14) and is the only player on the squad with multiple goals and assists. - Micah Gun has started each of the last three games, but time was split between him and Chema Preciado in its last match against NC State.

Jacksonville sports a 2-5-1 record heading into this weekend’s River City Rumble. They started off slow with four consecutive losses to open the season, but back-to-back wins against FAU and Georgia Southern, as well as a draw to FGCU, has brought them momentum into this matchup.

This will be the Dolphins’ third home match of the year with a win against FAU, 3-1, followed by the 2-2 draw to open conference play against FGCU. This will be JU’s final home match against an ASUN opponent until Saturday, Oct. 7, against Central Arkansas.

Ali Simmons is the newest head coach for Jacksonville entering his first season for the Dolphins. He most recently served as the associate head coach for Elon over the past two seasons.

Olivier Correa and Carson Wood each have the team lead with two goals this season, along with Iver Skorve striking the lead in assists. Christian Sekanina is one of the best keepers in the conference so far this year with 32 saves in eight starts, while only allowing 1.38 goals against average.

SERIES HISTORY - UNF is 13-14-1 all-time against NC State with a 6-6-1 record against the Dolphins on the road. - The Ospreys have won eight of the past 10 regular season matches against JU dating back to 2014. - The last four matchups between UNF and JU have gone to the home team with the last road win being by the Ospreys in 2019. - Each of the last five games have been shutouts, as the last three have been by a score of 1-0. - UNF broke its skid of back-to-back losses to JU last season to clinch a spot in the ASUN postseason. - Nine players from last season’s match return to play in this year’s rivalry, including five starters.
