Varsity 2025 rules and regulations Varsity will be held at 12pm at Bangor University in the Activities hub, Room 2 on Saturday 22nd of March. Poles (45mm) will be 3m apart (measured from edge of the base) with left pole on spin and right pole on static (audiences perspective) Both poles must be used in every performance. Doubles performances will use both pole but can choose pole settings to be different. Competitors may grip themselves and the poles. ITAC and sticky clothing is not allowed! Knee pads are allowed if needed. Music must be emailed in mp3 format to dlm23qcp@bangor.ac.uk by the 1st of March and must not contain extreme profanity. Email must contain competitor name, category, song name, and artist name. Music must be family friendly. Song choices will be first come first serve and listed in a shared document. Costumes should be at least minimum of a bikini (swimwear coverage) wardrobe malfunctions will not be penalised this includes heel failure. However unsafe use of heels will incur a 2 point deduction from overall score. All illegal moves will also receive a 2 point deduction. Costume props are allowed if fits theme of the routine (e.g. hats, jackets etc…) Competitors in beginner, intermediate and advanced can complete in doubles but not heels. Heels performers will also be allowed to compete as part in doubles. The only other props allowed in all categories is a chair. Sandbagging (performing in a category you are clearly exceeding in ability) will lead to disqualification of the competitor. Routines CANNOT be used if they have already been used in a competition or in varsity before. Repeat routines will be disqualified. Only students are permitted to compete in varsity.
