Michele Fernández is a published composer, active guest clinician, adjudicator, and performer.
Michele recently retired from teaching in Miami after 30 years, where her Miami Senior High School ensembles earned top honors and gained international acclaim. Before focusing on writing/clinics, she served as an active oboist in the Miami area, as well as a rhythm section player in a busy Afro-Latin /Jazz group.
Guest artist performances are held in Baugh Performance Hall located in the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center.
Dynamic and soothing four-piece vocal group Kings Return take pride in crafting a diverse yet supremely cohesive a cappella sound: The blend of their unique vocal timbres is so rich and so smooth that, at times, it sounds more like a full choir than a mere four men. Discovered after posting a series of bare-bones stairwell performances that went viral, their music is a balm to the soul, laced with expansive harmonies that flex the agility and effortless range of their vocal talent.

The wind quintet WindSync embraces the classics and the growing contemporary repertoire with a fresh sensibility. Versatile and vibrant, the group plays “many idioms authoritatively, elegantly, with adroit technique, and with great fun” (All About the Arts). In the span of one performance, they can cover vast musical ground from revitalized standards to freshly inked works to folk and songbook, the common thread telling a compelling story about music history and our human selves.
Artist Stephen King’s work is an exploration of form, color, and spatial relationships, deeply rooted in the principles of abstract art. Through a dynamic interplay of geometric shapes, he creates a sense of movement and depth on the two-dimensional surface. His vibrant palette creates points of visual emphasis and energy and the use of overlapping and interesting forms invites viewers to discover unexpected connections within the structured chaos. His work is beyond literal representation, instead focusing on the inherent beauty of pure form and color encouraging his audiences to engage on a purely visual and intuitive level.

This production is based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel about four sisters growing up in Civil War-era New England. Each young woman faces her own journey, shaped by ambition, love, loss, and the changing world around them. Jo dreams of becoming a writer and resists the pressure to conform.
Meg desires a home and family of her own.
Amy pursues beauty and success, and Beth provides a quiet strength that anchors them all. Little Women celebrates the dreams and resilience of young women who are determined to discover their purpose and place in the world with warmth, wit, and wisdom.
