Rosana Eckert
September 3
Grammy®-recognized vocalist Rosana Eckert has built an international career as a singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, and educator, earning a reputation for extraordinary versatility, dynamic artistry, and inspiring teaching. Rosana has released three critically acclaimed solo albums, and she was honored to contribute to Bobby McFerrin's Grammy-nominated VOCAbuLarieS, Kings Return's Grammy-nominated How Deep Is Your Love, and the Grammy-winning masterpiece Eberhard by piano legend Lyle Mays. In 1999, Rosana was the first woman and first vocalist hired to the unt jazz faculty, where she has helped build one of the world's most respected collegiate vocal jazz programs. Her many published choral works and educational resources—including her book Singing with Expression—are performed and studied by singers worldwide. Additionally, Rosana is an accomplished studio vocalist and voiceover actor. Her voice can be heard on hundreds of commercials, recordings, radio ids, and media projects, and she serves as the longtime on-air announcer for Dallas’s PBS station, kera.

starring David Robinson
Tea with C.S. Lewis is a warm, witty, and deeply moving one-man theatrical experience that invites audiences into the life, mind, and heart of one of the twentieth century’s most beloved writers. Performed by acclaimed British actor David Robinson, the production goes far beyond literary biography to reveal C. S. Lewis not merely as the celebrated author of The Chronicles of Narnia, but as a profoundly human man marked by humor, friendship, loss, longing, faith, and joy.

Andrew Peterson is a singer-songwriter and author. He has released more than ten records over the past twenty years, earning him a reputation for songs that connect with his listeners in ways equally powerful, poetic, and intimate. In 2008 Andrew founded the Rabbit Room, a nonprofit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee that nourishes Christ-centered communities by cultivating and curating stories, art, and music.
pax duo
March 2
pax duo is a dynamic percussion project created by Micah Detweiler and Tristan Swihart. Based in Elkhart, IN and Madison, WI, pax duo aims to expand the possibilities of contemporary percussion through collaboration and new creation. To that end they are active in commissioning, composing, and arranging new works for percussion duo. Their style blends genres like hip-hop, indie, and funk with contemporary classical to create music that is widely appealing and musically interesting.

Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc., saqa, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt: “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.” Their vision is that the art quilt is universally respected as a fine art medium. saqa’s core values are: excellence, innovation, integrity, and inclusion. Artfully Yours is a love letter from Texas artists out to the world. It presents the love and commitment to showcasing the art quilt as fine art. Inspiration and imagination soar in this colorful presentation. Reception | August 13 at 5 pm

Sacred Windows: Making the Invisible Visible For nearly as long as Christian tradition has shared its faith with the world, Iconography has existed as a means by which to communicate the message of faith. As an art form, Iconography, and those who
create these “windows,” seeks to use symbolism, color, and craft to encourage and enlighten pilgrims on their journey. Every brush stroke seeks to open a window, hopefully drawing the viewer into the possibility that the world is full of those whose love was made manifest in the lives they lived. Everything In Between
Professor David Hill will exhibit a large-scale ceramic project alongside a selection of recent artworks. His featured piece, The Bible Project, consists of sixty-six individual artworks, one for each book of the Bible, to illuminate how the narratives and content weave together to tell one cohesive story of Jesus.

A series of paintings that explores the parallels between nature and nurture, reframing it through the lens of motherhood as a collaborative, ongoing act of creation.

Residual Tension
Residual Tension explores the artist’s experience living with Crohn’s disease, the works construct psychological and environmental terrains shaped by persistent pressures, disruption, and adaptation. Together, they consider how bodies, communities, and ecosystems endure and rebuild within conditions of uncertainty. Reception | January 14 at 5 pm

Hear the story of how he went from scribbler in sketchbooks to craftsman in an ancient art form. You’ll hear personal insights into the journey of an artist, as well as advice on how to make your passion for art a viable career.
September 30 at 11 am Wendy Michelle Davis Artist Talk: My Successes and Failures in the Art World Full-time artist Wendy Michelle Davis shares her journey as an artist and some of what she has learned in the process. Wendy is passionate about art and sharing it with her community. She hosts art fairs in Waco, and also sells in juried art fairs all over the country.

The concert will feature umhb's Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble performing Vivaldi's Gloria, a collection of beloved holiday favorites, and other classics including an audience sing-along of cherished Christmas carols. Before, after, and during the performance intermission, guests are invited to browse and purchase original artwork created by current art students and alumni. We will also once again be collecting non-perishable food donations to benefit The Source, umhb's campus food pantry.

Dido and Aeneas

Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas is a musical excerpt of Virgil’s classic epic, The Aeneid. The Trojan hero Aeneas is shipwrecked off the shores of Carthage on his way to fulfill his destiny as the founder of Rome. However, the Queen of Carthage, Dido, diverts his attention, and the two fall in love. The royal pair must face supernatural enemies and wrestle with fate itself in pursuit of love and kingdom. Purcell's crown jewel of English opera takes us back in time to the ornate and dramatic musical style of the 17th century, and even further to the poetic mythological history of Classical Antiquity.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical adaptation of this beloved fairy tale combines its timeless themes of courage and love with the lyrical beauty of the Golden Age of American musical theater. Every girl in the kingdom wants to go to the Prince's ball for a chance to catch his eye, but Cinderella's cruel stepmother and stepsisters scoff at the thought of Cinderella going anywhere so grand. Cinderella must decide whether to agree with their low estimation of her or to believe that she was made for something more. Complete with humor, romance, and a touch of the miraculous, Cinderella reminds us all that "Impossible things are happening every day."

Featuring a selection of solo and chamber works, this recital offers audiences a unique musical experience presented by two distinguished artists devoted to enriching their communities through music.
