A team-approach is necessary to achieve our strategic goals and meet the mission of our program. It is exciting to see the collaboration between our students, staff and faculty. Students are engaged in School committees, external organizations and service to the Delmarva community and beyond, as evident by over 6000 community service hours over the years. We continue to support each other to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
Inside this issue:
Passion drives our commitment to educating the future pharmacists of America. Faculty and staff continually provide their knowledge and expertise to educate students in both didactic and experiential content. We are unified and passionate about producing the best pharmacists in the nation. We continue to innovate based upon internal metrics and external feedback. One example of curricular innovation includes the introduction of a pre-advanced practice pharmacy education (APPE) module to better prepare students for experiential education. Our team continually evaluates our curriculum to identify improvement opportunities. We also continue to innovate in research, an example of which includes an award for the 2013 University System of Maryland invention of the year (article on page 4). As we reflect over the past several months we have many reasons to be proud including our second graduating class on May 16, 2014. We know that the success of our students and graduates is a reflection of our effectiveness as educators. I am proud to be a part of our team as we continue to grow our program in national prominence. Respectfully, Dennis M. Killian
