SMAST is located on Clark’s Cove in historic New Bedford, MA – the nation’s #1 fishing port by value. Our beautiful 64,000-sq.-ft. facility, designed by Ellenzweig, features scenic views of the beach and historic neighborhoods.

We are conveniently located minutes away from the New Bedford Pier and in close proximity to Boston, Cape Cod, and Providence, RI. We are strategically situated in a location that provides easy access to many area attractions.

Thank you for considering UMass Dartmouth’s School for Marine Science & Technology (SMAST) facilities as the venue of choice for your upcoming meeting. We offer high-quality conference and meeting services at reasonable rates.

Meeting spaces

Our state-of-the-art facilities are designed to meet your needs. We have a wide variety of spaces available for different types of events, including boardroom-style business meetings, large-scale talks, theater-style lectures, and other events.

Our flexible spaces accommodate a maximum of 120 people when used as one large room, and between 12 and 24 people when divided into three smaller rooms. Spaces are equipped with high-tech audiovisual equipment, and our facilities are ADA accessible.

Catering

SMAST Conferencing staff can assist you with your dining needs. Catering options include breakfast, lunch and dinner ensembles, as well as a la carte items (such as sandwiches, salads, snacks), and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Ask us for a list of local catering options.
