About Dr.Joshua L. Michael:
Dr. Joshua L. Michael is the executive director of the Sherman Family Foundation, an organization that supports education and youth opportunities in Baltimore, with a focus on early childhood and K–12 Appointed by Governor Wes Moore, he also serves as president of the Maryland State Board of Education A former Baltimore City math teacher and instructional leader, Dr Michael previously directed Baltimore school partnerships at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), where he launched initiatives like the Reach Together Tutoring Program and UMBC Summer Math Program. He holds degrees from UMBC and Johns Hopkins University, and his research focuses on math achievement and interventions for struggling students.
