Farhad Heydari EDITOR-IN-CHIEF @mrfarhadheydari

I first experienced Regent Seven Seas Cruises® in the spring of 2001. It was a Mediterranean voyage embarking in Rome

rather than reinvention. Much has changed since then. Our expectations have grown, our choices have

new; it’s about refining what Regent has always done exceptionally well. That philosophy extends beyond the

aboard the newly launched Seven Seas Mariner®, when the brand was still known as Radisson Seven Seas Cruises. We sailed to the jewel box that is Portofino before continuing along the French Riviera and, as the transportive Dalida song suggests, I, too, left my heart there. I also left the world’s first all-suite, all-balcony luxury cruise ship built from the keel up with the distinct feeling that I had witnessed something genuinely transformative. Little did I know that 25 years later, the brand would continue to shape the world of ultra-luxury travel through a philosophy of thoughtful evolution

multiplied and luxury itself has become more nuanced. Today, it is measured less by excess than by authenticity, craftsmanship and experiences that linger long after the journey has ended. Those qualities are woven throughout this special edition of .. As Regent’s first new ship class in more than a decade, Seven Seas Prestige™ introduces remarkable new suites, restaurants and public spaces. Yet, while researching these pages and speaking with the people behind the ship, I found myself returning to one consistent theme. Seven Seas Prestige™ isn’t simply about what is

ship itself. Through Regent’s partnership with Global Hotel Alliance, the journey now begins long before embarkation, recognising that the finest voyages don’t start at the gangway, but with the anticipation of travel itself. I hope this special edition, spearheaded in large part by my colleagues Yasmin Harake and Andrew Cowan, offers a deeper insight into the people, philosophy and pursuit of perfection behind Regent’s newest chapter, and that you enjoy reading it as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to life.

ELEVATED EXPERIENCES As anticipation builds for the arrival of Seven Seas Prestige™, Regent Seven Seas Cruises® is ensuring the rest of its fleet upgrades in step. Extensive refurbishments aboard Seven Seas Mariner® and Seven Seas Voyager® have introduced elegantly redesigned suites, refreshed public spaces and enhanced dining venues, while the debut of the immersive Epicurean Enrichment Studio on both ships further enriches the onboard experience. Drawing inspiration from the design language first established by Regent’s acclaimed Explorer Class ships, the multimilliondollar investments create an even greater sense of continuity across The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet®, reaffirming the line’s commitment to continually refining every aspect of the guest experience – whether sailing aboard its newest vessel or one of its most beloved classics. IN THE SPOTLIGHT Inspiration and immersion sit at the heart of the 2027 Spotlight Voyage collection. Comprised of seven sailings, each carefully curated to convey themes of wellness, gastronomy, genealogy and fine wines, this collection empowers every Regent guest to discover more aboard one of four ships. Brought to guests courtesy of Seven Seas Grandeur®, Seven Seas Splendor®, Seven Seas Voyager® and Seven Seas Prestige™, every voyage has been designed to enhance the experience even further. “Our 2027 collection has been crafted to bring together world-class experts and iconic luxury brands in a way only Regent can deliver,” reveals Wesley D’Silva, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises®. “From exclusive culinary and wine experiences to our inaugural wellness and longevity voyage, each sailing offers a unique perspective while delivering the unrivalled comfort and service of The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet®.” Developed in partnership with premium British skincare brand ELEMIS (elemis.com), Regent’s inaugural Spotlight Voyage on Wellness and Longevity on board Seven Seas Prestige™ will explore everything from

For those seeking a more meaningful experience at sea, the Spotlight on Heritage Voyage offers a deeply personal opportunity of discovery and understanding. guests can opt for interactive cooking demonstrations and intimate conversations by way of the Epicurean Spotlight Voyage – one that brings culinary delights and storytelling together with author and podcast host, Mark Bittman and editorial director and producer, Kate Bittman. BEYOND THE VOYAGE For guests seeking an even more personalised travel experience, Regent has partnered with the world-renowned private concierge, Knightsbridge Circle (knightsbridgecircle. com), extending its signature service far beyond the ship. Available exclusively to all guests of Regent Suites on Explorer Class vessels, as well as the Skyview Regent Suite aboard Seven Seas Prestige™, the bespoke membership unlocks extraordinary experiences both before and after each voyage – from securing spots at coveted restaurants and private cultural access to once-in-a-

Prestige™, that celebrated blueprint has been reimagined for a new generation. Rather than reinventing the formula, Regent has refined it – with long-time partner Fincantieri (fincantieri.com) building on the design philosophy, generous sense of space and immersive culinary experiences that established the Explorer Class as one of cruising’s modern icons. Familiar favourites, including Pacific Rim, Prime 7, Compass Rose and the Culinary Arts Kitchen return alongside beautifully reinterpreted public spaces by Studio DADO (studiodado.com), the design firm behind the Explorer Class. Yet Seven Seas Prestige™ is unmistakably her own ship. Larger, lighter and more residential in feel, she introduces an entirely new collection of suites, innovative dining concepts and thoughtfully enhanced interiors that signal Regent’s next chapter – proving that even the very best can continue to raise the bar.

As Regent prepares to introduce Seven Seas Prestige™, President Wesley D’Silva tells Farhad Heydari why the line’s first new ship class in a decade represents far more than a new vessel – and what it reveals about the next era of ultra-luxury cruising

H

aving spent more than 16 years with Regent Seven Seas Cruises® across finance, commercial strategy and executive leadership, President Wesley D’Silva is leading one of luxury travel’s most respected brands through a defining period of growth and innovation. He sits down to discuss Regent’s long-term vision, changing traveller expectations and the principles shaping the line’s next chapter. FARHAD HEYDARI: Luxury travel has evolved dramatically over the past decade. Travellers increasingly seem to value experiences over possessions, and nowhere has that shift been more apparent than in the growth of ultra-luxury cruising. From your perspective, what has changed? WESLEY D’SILVA: In the last few years, luxury travellers have increasingly shifted their spending away from acquiring possessions and towards collecting experiences, and cruising naturally lends itself to that. At the same time, the economics of travel have changed. Hotels, restaurants and land-based holidays have all become considerably more expensive. Cruising has always represented exceptional value because so much is included within a single journey, but today that value proposition is even stronger. Guests are increasingly recognising that they don’t have to compromise. They can enjoy extraordinary destinations, exceptional dining and highly personalised service, all within one seamless experience. The arrival of some of the world’s top ultra-luxury hotel brands into the sector has also reinforced something we’ve believed for decades: ultra-luxury cruising deserves to sit alongside the very best hospitality experiences anywhere in the world. That’s positive for everyone because it shines the brightest spotlight on our brand and our 35 years of experience. FH: Regent has the advantage of more than three decades of operating experience. As these luxury hotel brands begin entering the sector, does that heritage become an even greater advantage?

SPECIAL SEVEN SEAS PRESTIGE™ ISSUE

WD: Absolutely. Next year we’ll celebrate Regent’s 35th anniversary, and over that time we’ve accumulated an extraordinary depth of operational expertise. Hospitality is hospitality, whether you’re on land or at sea, but operating a luxury cruise ship is a very different proposition. We recently hosted the Global Hotel Alliance CEO Committee aboard Seven Seas Splendor®, and for many of those hotel leaders it was their first cruise. What struck them most wasn’t simply the guest experience – it was what happens behind the scenes. Several of them commented that there were aspects of our operation hotels could learn from, particularly in how efficiently we use space and coordinate complex logistics. Equally, we’ll continue learning from the world’s finest hotels. That exchange of ideas ultimately raises standards across luxury hospitality. FH: That spirit of continuous evolution seems to underpin Seven Seas Prestige™. This is Regent’s first entirely new ship class in ten years, yet you’ve described it as an evolution rather than a reinvention. Why? WD: When we introduced Seven Seas Explorer® a decade ago, she fundamentally changed expectations within ultraluxury cruising. Seven Seas Prestige™ builds on that legacy

“We weren’t interested in adding capacity. We were interested in enhancing the experience” 11

rather than replacing it. She’s approximately forty per cent larger than Explorer Class, yet she’ll accommodate around only ten per cent more guests. That wasn’t an engineering decision – it was a strategic one. Across virtually every luxury demographic, regardless of age or geography, we’re seeing two expectations remain remarkably consistent: travellers want more space and they want greater personalisation. Seven Seas Prestige™ has been conceived around those two principles. FH: Bigger ships have traditionally meant more guests. Regent has deliberately gone in the opposite direction. WD: We did, because we weren’t interested in adding capacity for its own sake. We were interested in enhancing the experience. When you’re designing a ship, you’re designing something that will still be sailing 25 or 30 years from now. Every decision therefore has to feel timeless. We spent a great deal of time thinking about what luxury travellers will continue to value decades into the future, rather than simply responding to today’s trends. Space was central to that thinking – not only in the public areas, but throughout the accommodation. Yes, we’re introducing entirely new suite concepts, including our duplex Skyview Suites, but what’s equally important is that even our entrylevel suites begin at over 440 square feet, complete with walk-in wardrobes, generous bathrooms with double vanities and expansive balconies. Every guest benefits from that philosophy, regardless of which suite they choose. FH: You keep coming back to the idea of space. It’s easy to think of that purely in terms of square footage, but I get the impression you mean something broader than that. WD: I do. Of course, physical space matters, and that’s immediately evident throughout Seven Seas Prestige™. The public areas are more expansive, the spa has grown significantly and we’ve introduced new suite categories that simply weren’t possible before. But space is also about how people feel when they’re travelling. Luxury today is about having room to breathe. It’s about never feeling crowded, never feeling hurried and always having the freedom to experience a destination in your own way. That’s really what

PERSONAL PURSUITS

Crafted with the highest attention to detail, Regent’s shore excursions are designed around the things guests love – from art and culture to cuisine, history and adventure

we’ve tried to achieve throughout the ship. Whether you’re relaxing in your suite, spending time on deck or enjoying one of the lounges or restaurants, everything has been designed to feel open, comfortable and intuitive. It’s less about creating bigger spaces for the sake of it than creating a greater sense of ease. FH: At the same time, today’s traveller also expects a far more personalised experience than perhaps they did ten or 15 years ago. WD: Without question. Personalisation has become one of the defining characteristics of luxury hospitality, and that’s something we’ve been very mindful of throughout the development of Seven Seas Prestige™. Guests still appreciate exceptional accommodation and beautiful surroundings, but increasingly they want experiences that feel individual to them. That’s reflected in everything from the variety of suite configurations to the way we approach dining, wellness and shore experiences. It’s about creating choice without compromising the consistency of the Regent experience. FH: Culinary travel has become one of the great motivators for people choosing where to go. Food is no longer simply part of the holiday; increasingly, it’s the reason for the journey itself.

SPECIAL SEVEN SEAS PRESTIGE™ ISSUE

WD: That’s exactly what we’re seeing. Culinary experiences have become an increasingly important part of travel, and we’ve responded by broadening what that means on board. Azure is our newest specialty restaurant and introduces a fresh Mediterranean concept inspired by the cuisines of Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. We recognised that guests’ tastes continue to evolve, and it’s important that our dining reflects that. But it’s about much more than adding another restaurant. The Culinary Arts Kitchen has become one of our most popular experiences, where guests can cook alongside our chefs in hands-on classes, and that

don’t control the environment once guests leave the ship. But we work incredibly closely with our local partners and tour operators to make those experiences as seamless and authentic as possible. For us, the Regent experience doesn’t begin when guests step on board, nor does it end when they disembark. It starts with that very first interaction with our team and continues long after they’ve returned home. Every touchpoint matters, and for this type of traveller it’s often the smallest details that leave the biggest impression.

naturally extends into the destinations themselves. Those same chefs often accompany guests ashore, visiting local markets, introducing regional ingredients and sharing the culinary traditions that define each place we visit. For us, that’s where dining becomes part of the destination rather than something separate from it.

battleground across the industry. Every luxury cruise line is trying to create experiences that feel more immersive and more authentic. How do you ensure Regent stands apart? WD: It comes back to consistency. Guests rightly expect the same level of quality ashore that they experience on board. That means continually refining our excursions, investing in local partnerships and looking for ways to connect guests more meaningfully with the destinations they’re visiting. Culinary experiences are one example, but it’s true across everything we do. Ultimately, we’re not simply taking guests somewhere. We’re helping them understand why that place matters.

FH: Which really speaks to a broader trend. Increasingly, the ship isn’t the destination – the destination is the destination. WD: Exactly. While we invest enormously in our ships, the places we visit remain at the heart of every voyage. Our responsibility is to ensure that what guests experience ashore reflects the same standards they enjoy on board. That’s not always straightforward because, naturally, we

12

FH: Shore experiences have become something of a

I N C O N V E R S AT I O N

FH: Wellness has also become central to the luxury travel conversation, and Seven Seas Prestige™ reflects that shift. WD: Absolutely. Wellness means different things to different people today, and we’ve tried to recognise that. Our spa has been significantly expanded, while the new Solara Sports Deck introduces facilities that encourage guests to remain active throughout their voyage. Some guests want a treatment in the spa; others want to exercise, spend time outdoors or simply enjoy the open air. Again, it comes back to providing choice. Luxury isn’t about telling guests how they should spend their time. It’s about giving them the freedom to shape their own experience. FH: Luxury cruising has traditionally been strongest in North America and Europe, but you’re now seeing demand emerge from very different parts of the world. Where are the most exciting opportunities for Regent over the coming decade? WD: We’re fortunate that demand is growing across virtually all of our core markets, but we’re also seeing some incredibly encouraging momentum elsewhere. Australia and New Zealand continue to perform exceptionally well, and we’re seeing real growth across parts of Asia as awareness of luxury cruising increases. The opportunity is significant, but we also have to be disciplined. We can’t be everywhere at once, so we’re very strategic about where we invest, where we position our ships and how we grow the business. The demand is certainly there; it’s about ensuring we can deliver the Regent experience consistently wherever we operate. FH: Growth isn’t simply about geography, though. It’s also changing when people travel. WD: Exactly. That’s one of the more interesting shifts we’re seeing. Take the Mediterranean. Historically, everyone thought of the Med as a summer destination. Ships would arrive in April, sail through the warmer months and then reposition elsewhere for the winter. Today, that’s changing. Guests are increasingly choosing to visit places like Rome, Athens or Barcelona during the winter months. People go to the Med in the winter for a different kind of experience. We’ve responded by extending our Mediterranean deployment through the winter, and we’ve seen a similar trend in Asia-Pacific. Travellers are becoming more confident about exploring destinations outside the traditional seasons, and we’re adapting our itineraries accordingly. FH: Presumably that’s where experience becomes just as important as exploration. It’s not simply about adding new pins to the map. WD: That’s exactly right. Everyone enjoys discovering somewhere new, but introducing a new destination only makes sense if we can deliver the level of experience guests expect. Infrastructure matters. Local partnerships matter. Shore experiences matter. Sometimes the most successful itinerary isn’t the newest destination – it’s presenting a familiar destination at a different time of year, or in a different way. Our responsibility is to ensure every destination lives up to the expectations guests have of Regent.

SPECIAL SEVEN SEAS PRESTIGE™ ISSUE

SPACE TO EXPLORE

Above: At around 40 per cent larger than her predecessors but accommodating only up to 10 per cent more guests, Seven Seas Prestige™ offers something increasingly valuable at sea: space to breathe; Below: The ambition is for Regent’s renowned service to become part of the destination itself – an experience on board that feels every bit as considered as the places guests come to discover

FH: It strikes me that Regent isn’t really in the business of operating ships. You’re in the business of curating journeys. WD: That’s a nice way of putting it. The ships are obviously fundamental – they’re where our guests live during their voyage – but they’ve always been a means of delivering something much bigger. We’re creating experiences that begin long before someone steps on board and continue well after they’ve returned home. Every interaction matters. Every detail matters. That’s what defines the Regent experience.

course, we’ll introduce new ships and new itineraries, but innovation isn’t only about hardware. It’s about constantly asking how we can enhance the guest experience – whether that’s through dining, shore excursions, wellness or service. If, in five or ten years’ time, people still look at Regent as the company that’s setting the benchmark for ultra-luxury cruising, then I think we’ll have done our job.

FH: Finally, if we were sitting here again five years from now, what would success look like? WD: I’d like people to say that Regent continued to lead. When Seven Seas Mariner® entered service in 2001, she was the world’s first all-suite, all-balcony ultra-luxury cruise ship. When Seven Seas Explorer® arrived, she raised the standard once again. I’d like us to continue that tradition. Of

FH: You’ve described Seven Seas Prestige™ as the next chapter in Regent’s story. After our conversation, it feels more like the beginning of Regent’s next era. WD: That’s exactly how we see it. Seven Seas Prestige™ certainly represents an exciting new ship, but more importantly she represents the direction we’re heading as a brand. Luxury travellers continue to evolve, and so must we. Our responsibility is to keep listening, keep learning and keep raising the bar. That’s what we’ve always tried to do, and that’s exactly what we’ll continue to do.

even Seas Prestige™ was conceived around moments. There are grand gestures, certainly – but its most compelling qualities are to be found within its carefully considered spaces. Take the Solara Sports Deck, where Regent has reimagined what an ultra-luxury ship can offer when it comes to play. Created as an open-air haven on Deck 14, the space will bring together a pickleball and padel court, shuffleboard and an 18-hole putting green, alongside more unexpected additions that include a mini bowling lane, chess and a dedicated baggo court. Designed and engineered by Greenspan (greenspanltd. com), the bespoke features will occupy almost 4,800 square feet – illustrating that when aboard Seven Seas Prestige™, leisure won’t necessarily mean lounging. “Every court was custom-sized to fit the deck’s specific layout, and we tailored the size and features of every activity,” says Benn Robinson, Creative Lead at Greenspan, who reveals that Regent’s deep cruise knowledge was essential to their work. “We worked in close, iterative cycles with their team to implement their design feedback, ensuring every material and aesthetic choice aligned with their brand identity and was suitable for the deck.” Elsewhere, design takes a more contemplative turn. At the heart of the ship, the Starlight Atrium by Studio DADO (studiodado.com) will form a soaring architectural centrepiece, with twin spiral staircases rising from Deck 4 towards Deck 11 beneath a glass-enclosed ceiling. Adorned with more than 300 hand-blown crystal light rods, the staircase forms a living installation of art and light. “The story behind this remarkable feature is just as incredible as the finished result will be,” comments Janice Davidson,

Chief Brand Officer at Regent Seven Seas Cruises®. “It begins with unique sand sourced from the Crystal Valley of the Czech Republic and continues through the hands of artisans and master craftsmen who have hand-blown each piece,” she continues. A bespoke orchestral musical arrangement will further enhance the guest experience – with every light carefully choreographed to unveil an immersive evening ritual. Across the ship, spaces shift effortlessly in mood and purpose. The Meridian Lounge takes inspiration from the prime meridian and the thrill of crossing the globe, while the Observation Lounge brings the sea into focus, making the horizon part of the experience. At Galileo’s Bar, polished marble, sparkling crystal bottles and views across the Starlight Atrium lend an added sense of occasion. Serene Spa & Wellness© offers a quieter counterpoint, with a hydro-massage pool and bespoke treatments inspired by wellness traditions from around the world. When it’s time for entertainment, the two-deck-high Constellation Theatre turns its attention to performance. With plush seating and carefully considered sightlines, every show takes centre stage. And while Seven Seas Prestige™ and its spaces set the scene for every moment, Regent’s all-inclusive offering gives guests the freedom to make the most of every experience, with everything included from the outset and no additional costs to consider. It is a ship that rewards a closer look, with considered details revealing themselves the more you explore. As Regent Cruise Director Dru Pavlov says of Seven Seas Prestige™ and her upcoming debut: “Like any Regent ship, the details are everywhere. You may not even notice unless you’re truly looking.”

Behind the Larder

The scale of dining aboard Seven Seas Prestige™ is perhaps best appreciated before the first guest even steps aboard. Every voyage begins with meticulous planning – and some extraordinary provisioning. Among the items loaded aboard for a 10-night cruise are 1,350 lb of lobster, 1,150 lb of filet mignon, 570 lb each of smoked salmon and chocolate and 25 lb of caviar. The wine cellar is equally impressive, with 5,700 bottles spanning 65 white wines, 130 reds, five rosés and six dessert wines, complemented by a further 1,800 bottles of champagne. It’s an extraordinary logistical feat, all in the service of making every meal feel effortless.

As well as receiving exclusive access to The Study – an intimate dining space for up to 12 guests – residents are also provided with a dedicated personal butler and daily Serene Spa and Wellness® treatments while on board, and can explore their surroundings in unparalleled comfort by way of a private car, driver and guide at every port of call. Excellence is often measured by what guests notice while they’re awake, but Regent understands that some of travel’s most luxurious moments happen while the world is asleep. For Seven Seas Prestige™, Regent has partnered with Flou (flou.com), the family-owned Italian bedmaker. Like Regent, Flou has built its reputation not through fleeting trends but through decades of craftsmanship, innovation and an unwavering commitment to quality. That shared philosophy is reflected in the ship’s new Leonardo bedding system, handcrafted in Italy exclusively for the Skyview Regent Suite and featured throughout the new accommodation collection in carefully considered forms. “Flou doesn’t just make mattresses,” says Regent’s Chief Experience Officer, Franco Semeraro. “It handcrafts sleeping experiences.” It’s a fitting partnership. Both Regent and Flou understand that excellence isn’t always announced; it’s quietly experienced. Long after the destinations have blurred into memory, guests may remember something far simpler: the rare pleasure of waking each morning feeling completely restored, ready to embrace another day at sea. Whether guests choose to begin the day with breakfast on the sun-dappled balcony, a private fitness session or a few moments of uninterrupted tranquillity from the comfort of a bespoke Flou bed and nothing but a coffee and the horizon in sight, it’s clear why the Skyview Regent Suite is the largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite in history.

uxury travel has long borrowed the language of home. Renowned brands speak of residences rather than rooms and the feeling of belonging rather than staying. With the anticipated launch of Seven Seas Prestige™, Regent Seven Seas Cruises® brings this philosophy to an all-new class of ship. The first new ship class introduced by Regent in 10 years, Seven Seas Prestige™ marks a significant evolution. Already offering some of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry, Regent has ensured the new vessel builds on this legacy, creating spaces defined by space and serenity. Nowhere is that philosophy more apparent than within the vessel’s accommodation offering. Across 12 suite categories — including four entirely new suite types — Seven Seas Prestige™ unveils a collection of living spaces that evoke the warmth and familiarity of beautifully appointed private residences. In partnership with GHA DISCOVERY – the world’s largest independent hotel loyalty programme connecting 1,000 hotels and resorts worldwide – Regent Seven Seas Cruises® introduces The Concierge Collection 2027–2028. here is a subtle shift taking place in the way we travel. For many, the greatest reward is no longer found in seeing as much as possible, but in experiencing a place more deeply. It is choosing to arrive a little earlier, allowing the rhythm of a destination to reveal itself gradually before the itinerary takes over. A quiet morning wandering unfamiliar streets before the city awakens. An afternoon uncovering centuries of history through the eyes of a local guide. An evening around the table, where regional flavours and conversation reveal as much about a destination as its historic landmarks. Some places require more than a fleeting introduction. They deserve the time and space to be explored, understood and experienced, where the moments in between become as meaningful as the destination itself. Inviting discerning travellers to slow down and settle in, The Concierge Collection was designed to elevate the pre-cruise stay into a meaningful part of the journey. Across 11 cities, every itinerary has been crafted to celebrate the culture, heritage and character of its surroundings, from immersive encounters and exceptional dining to guided

discoveries that offer a richer understanding and a more emotional connection. The hotels themselves are integral to that story. Chosen not simply for their reputation, but for the ways in which they reflect the destinations they call home, they offer an authentic sense of place from the moment guests arrive. A restored heritage landmark, a contemporary retreat shaped by local craftsmanship, a historic address that has welcomed generations of travellers – each has been selected because it tells a story of its own, creating a natural connection between the destination onshore and the voyage at sea. Together, the iconic hotels that make up The Concierge Collection convey how some of the most memorable elements of a journey are not only experienced once you arrive, but in the often-overlooked moments along the way.

AZURE With Seven Seas Prestige™, Regent welcomes its newest restaurant, Azure. Dreamed up by Studio DADO (studiodado.com) to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean, this dining venue is set to bring the bold flavours and rich culinary traditions of Southern Europe, North Africa and the Levant. Placed within a warm, inviting space layered with artisanal craftsmanship and natural textures, the restaurant will evoke an atmosphere that feels both refined and effortlessly relaxed – enhanced further by elements that nod to the region. Reminiscent of a handwoven bazaar rug, the warm, detailed carpet will nod to the traditional aesthetic of a Mediterranean home; while soaring, graceful arches will be positioned to create a sense of openness. Finished with cerulean mosaic patterns, Azure will uphold the centuries of heritage behind every dish, and – in doing so – create a dining experience that embraces the warmth and conversation synonymous with the Mediterranean way of life.

THE NEXT COURSE

LA VERANDA & SETTE MARI By day, La Veranda offers chic indoor dining alongside the most expansive al fresco space ever seen on a Regent ship – a breezy oceanfront retreat for leisurely dining. As dusk settles, it seamlessly transforms into Sette Mari, an intimate evening venue. Bathed in warm twilight, guests enjoy authentic, à la carte specialties and fine regional wines, celebrating the timeless art of the slow Italian dinner.

Bernhard Klotz, Vice President of Food & Beverage at Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, reveals how the culinary offering aboard Seven Seas Prestige™ evolved from galley design and a Mediterranean immersion into Regent’s most ambitious dining experience yet For Seven Seas Prestige™, the ambition wasn’t to introduce new restaurants or fresh menus, but to elevate the entire culinary journey while remaining unmistakably Regent. Long before the first menus were imagined, the ship’s culinary story had already begun. Rather than starting with recipes or restaurant concepts, Klotz says the process was shaped first by the ship’s architectural design. “It began with the design of the galleys and restaurants, which set the foundation for how the dining programme could function on board,” he begins, before explaining how this approach was closely linked to product availability and what could realistically be sourced, stored and executed at sea. Only once those foundations were in place did the wider vision begin to evolve. Guest feedback, evolving dining habits and emerging culinary trends all informed the programme, but never at the expense of what Regent guests have come to expect. That careful balance, says Klotz, is one of the new vessel’s defining principles. “It’s about enhancing the experience without changing its essence – making it feel more personal, more consistent and even more natural,” he explains. “Our philosophy is that true luxury comes from simplicity executed exceptionally well.” A CULTURE OF DISCOVERY The Seven Seas Prestige™ culinary offering draws inspiration from the same spirit of discovery that defines Regent itineraries. Knowing Regent’s guests are naturally curious travellers, the culinary team looked beyond individual dishes to explore the cultures and traditions behind them, recognising dining as an integral part of discovering the world. When asked about the imaginative side of the process, and where it belongs when curating such distinct dining experiences at sea, Klotz explains

“It’s about enhancing the experience without changing its essence – making it feel more personal, more consistent and even more natural”

THE RHYTHM OF THE JOURNEY While the restaurants uphold their own identities, Klotz is quick to point out that Regent’s newest ship is home to a dining programme that was never designed to be a series of standalone experiences. Instead, the focus has always been on the rhythm of the journey. He describes the allencompassing approach, and how it looks at the entire voyage rather than individual meals. “Whether guests are enjoying breakfast in their suite, cocktails in the afternoon, a casual lunch, a speciality dinner or a late-night drink, every experience should feel connected,” he shares. It’s this holistic approach that transforms dining into something more than a succession of meals, with restaurants, lounges, bars and in-suite dining working together to create a journey that feels effortless – from the moment guests step aboard until they disembark. Of course, delivering that experience seamlessly requires an extraordinary amount of work behind the scenes. Klotz explains that sourcing exceptional ingredients from around the world is only part of the challenge; maintaining the quality and consistency guests expect, voyage after voyage, is another. Added to that are external factors, from shipping schedules and container delays to weather conditions, all of which demand meticulous planning and attention to detail. Alongside sourcing comes recipe development, standardisation and continual training to ensure every venue delivers the same exceptional experience. “It is a true team effort, and the consistency our guests experience is something our culinary teams take great pride in achieving every day.”

there is a place for creative flair, but it has a specific part to play. “Creativity has an important role, but it should enhance the ingredients rather than overshadow them,” he says. Mediterranean cuisine, already one of Regent’s most sought-after menus, became a natural starting point,

says. Every element – from design and lighting to the atmosphere, music and service – shapes how guests experience a restaurant and how they remember it. Rather than treating interiors and menus as separate disciplines, the ship’s culinary concepts, interior design and guest

but the team’s creative thinking was also shaped by an experience much closer to home. One particularly influential moment came during an immersion at Mirazur (mirazur.fr) in Menton, France, where the culinary leadership team explored Chef Mauro Colagreco’s celebrated creative philosophy and the thinking behind it. “Beyond experiencing the restaurant’s exceptional cuisine, this opportunity challenged us to think differently about how new restaurant concepts

experience were developed in parallel. The result is a carefully curated collection of venues with their own identity – each offering a different mood while remaining united by the elegance, comfort and service that have long defined Regent. “From the very beginning, each venue aboard Seven Seas Prestige™ was designed around a unique story and identity,” reveals Klotz. “The culinary concept, interior design and guest experience were developed together, creating spaces that feel authentic and immersive

are developed, from the initial idea through to the guest experience,” Klotz reveals. “That approach became a guiding principle as we created each of Seven Seas Prestige™’s new dining venues.” The destinations themselves also provide a continual source of inspiration, influencing the flavours, ingredients and techniques that underpin the onboard culinary experience. “The goal was to create a collection of dining experiences that celebrate the world’s great cuisines while remaining authentic, refined and unmistakably Regent,” he adds.

rather than simply different places to dine.” Every detail has been carefully considered to complement the cuisine and create a distinct sense of place. Perhaps the clearest expression of that philosophy is Azure, the vessel’s new Mediterranean restaurant. Inspired by one of the region’s most enduring traditions, Azure was designed to convey togetherness around the table. “Mediterranean dining is about bringing people together through great food, conversation and shared experiences,” says Klotz. “We wanted to bring that same sense of connection to Azure while giving guests the freedom to enjoy it in their own way.” A reflection of the wider culinary philosophy, Azure invites guests to create their own memorable experiences through the flavours of the region.

THOUGHTFUL EVOLUTION For all the innovation Seven Seas Prestige™ introduces, Klotz believes the ship’s defining philosophy can be distilled into just a few words: to consistently deliver memorable food and beverage experiences through quality, simplicity and Heartfelt Hospitality™. It’s an approach that honours everything Regent guests already love while acknowledging how luxury travel continues to evolve. When asked about the elements guests will immediately recognise as being distinctly Regent, Klotz offers a response that doesn’t require a pause. “The commitment to exceptional cuisine, personalised service and attention to detail,” he replies. “Those values remain unchanged.” As travellers increasingly seek authenticity, customisation and meaningful experiences on land and at sea, the latest addition to Regent’s fleet has been designed to respond with innovation rather than reinvention. Looking ahead, Klotz believes luxury dining at sea will continue to evolve, focusing more on personalisation, stronger storytelling and seamless, high-quality service in less formal settings. “Guests will value authentic, wellexecuted cuisine and memorable dining experiences over complexity or trends.” In many ways, that philosophy encapsulates Seven Seas Prestige™ itself. Rather than pursuing novelty for its own sake, Regent has focused on refining what it already does exceptionally well – pairing thoughtful innovation with the quality, simplicity and genuine hospitality that have long defined the brand. If the future of luxury dining lies in experiences that feel effortless, authentic and deeply personal, Seven Seas Prestige™ is well placed to lead the way.

STUDIO DADO

Not more, but more meaningful. Studio DADO’s Yohandel Ruiz on the craftsmanship and quiet human connection at the core of Seven Seas Prestige™

hen Regent Seven Seas Cruises® set out to design its first new ship class in over a decade, the brief went beyond aesthetics. Seven Seas Prestige™ needed to feel unmistakably Regent while marking a genuine evolution – more intimate, more human and more attuned to how luxury is felt rather than simply seen. Helping to lead that vision is Yohandel Ruiz, Founding Partner of Studio DADO (studiodado.com), whose 13-year collaboration with Regent has shaped some of the line’s most celebrated interiors. Here, Ruiz speaks to the philosophy behind Seven Seas Prestige™ – from the lessons learned designing the Explorer Class to the hand-finished details found in every suite – and why, for both Studio DADO and Regent, true luxury has never been about excess, but about craftsmanship, authenticity and the quiet, lasting feeling of being truly at home at sea. Seven Seas Prestige™ marks Regent’s first entirely new ship class in more than a decade. From the outset, Studio DADO understood that this new vessel was not going to be a reinvention, but a refinement – one that upheld the core design elements already loved by guests while embracing the qualities that would make the latest addition to the fleet feel entirely new. “Regent Seven Seas Cruises® has built its reputation on delivering exceptional service, world-class cuisine and beautifully crafted environments that feel both luxurious and welcoming,” begins Ruiz. “With Seven Seas Prestige™, our goal was to honour that legacy while redefining what luxury means.” Having collaborated on Regent’s Explorer Class a decade earlier, Ruiz says one of the most valuable lessons was the fleeting nature of design trends. “Timeless design always outlasts trends,” he asserts. “Rather than chasing what’s fashionable, we’ve continued to focus on creating spaces with enduring character – spaces that feel elegant today and will continue to feel relevant for years to come.” Looking back at Regent’s heritage, he explains, allowed Studio DADO to move the brand forward, ensuring the ship remains rooted in its identity while adopting a more considered, contemporary approach to telling its story. What emerged was a deeper connection to the human element. “Our interiors have always been designed with people at the centre, but this time we wanted to go further by tapping into a more intimate, more emotional reservoir,” Ruiz says. That ambition is expressed through the thoughtful craftsmanship and artistry

woven throughout the ship. “Whether it’s a sculptural installation that captures the spirit of a space, the visible details of a hand-tooled leatherworker or the extraordinary craftsmanship of a Venetian glassmaker, every element reflects the artistry behind its creation,” he explains. “In many ways, the ship is a collection of stories told through the hands of hundreds of talented people who came together to create something extraordinary.” That philosophy extends beyond the spaces themselves and permeates Ruiz’s words. “We wanted every room, every surface and every detail to tell a story – not only about the guest experience, but about the makers who helped bring these spaces to life,” he says. “That sense of authenticity, intimacy and human connection is what makes Seven Seas Prestige™ feel genuinely new while remaining unmistakably Regent.” Reminiscent of both Regent’s commitment to excellence and Studio DADO’s personcentred approach to design, Seven Seas Prestige™ was conceived to be mesmerising yet meaningful, powerful yet personal. Throughout the ship, guests can expect opulence balanced by intimacy – a harmony that Ruiz says was intentional from the very beginning. “Absolutely,” he replies. “And I’m pleased you noticed. To us, true luxury isn’t defined by excess. It’s defined by how a space makes you feel.” Founded in 2016, Studio DADO was built on the belief that exceptional spaces begin with the emotions they evoke, and it is in approach, and it is an approach the studio continues to uphold today. Ruiz explains that, on Seven Seas Prestige™, moments of grandeur are carefully balanced with spaces that feel personal rather than intimidating. “We approached every space with the idea that while the architecture could be bold and expressive, the experience should always feel warm, welcoming and deeply human,” he says. That balance is achieved through contrasts – softening dramatic volumes with tactile materials, considered lighting and inviting furnishings that encourage guests to linger. “The hand of the maker is present throughout the ship, creating moments of intimacy within the larger architectural gestures,” Ruiz continues. “Those handcrafted details bring warmth, authenticity and a sense of connection that guests may not immediately identify, but they instinctively feel.” So what did Ruiz ultimately want the newest addition to The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet® to evoke? His answer is simple. “We wanted Seven Seas Prestige™ to feel both extraordinary and effortless – to inspire while remaining comfortable, elegant and unmistakably personal. We believe that’s where lasting luxury resides.” When asked what truly makes a space at sea feel luxurious today, Ruiz believes the definition itself has changed. “Today, luxury is less about abundance and cost – it’s about authenticity, quality and emotional connection.” For him, every material, lighting choice and piece of furniture should feel carefully considered, yet nothing should appear forced. “There is a quiet confidence to it,” he says. That philosophy feels particularly important at sea, where he sees Seven Seas Prestige™ not simply as a mode of transportation, but as a home for the duration of each guest’s journey. “The interiors need to create a sense of comfort, calm and belonging while still inspiring discovery and wonder.” Then Ruiz offers perhaps his simplest definition of luxury. “Time. If we can create spaces where time seems to stand still, we’ve succeeded. When a space feels timeless, deeply personal and emotionally resonant – where everything simply feels right – that is the highest expression of luxury.” That sentiment perhaps best captures the shared philosophy between Regent Seven Seas Cruises® and Studio DADO. “From the very beginning, there has been a mutual understanding that luxury isn’t about adding more,” Ruiz says. “It’s about creating something more meaningful.” Seven Seas Prestige™, he explains, is where those two philosophies meet: Regent’s unwavering commitment to an exceptional guest experience and Studio DADO’s passion for creating environments that are emotionally engaging, beautifully crafted and unmistakably human. “When those two visions come together,” he concludes, “the result is something that feels both elevated and effortless. And that’s the kind of luxury we set out to create.”

through the atrium, where would they pause, what they would notice and how the space would make them feel. rue luxury travel is no longer defined merely by where you go, but by the rhythm of the journey itself – a seamless blend of immersion, far-flung destinations, unhurried time and complete peace of mind. Regent Seven Seas Cruises® has approached the itineraries for Seven Seas Prestige™ with a philosophy that honours these elements, designing voyages that deliver a strong sense of place, endless opportunities for exploration and Unrivalled Space at Sea®. When creating the itineraries for Seven Seas Prestige™, Regent started by considering the guest experience, ensuring each one reflects its commitment to elevated, effortless and deeply enriching travel experiences. Wesley D’Silva, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises® explains that Regent designs its voyages to feel seamless, balanced and rewarding from beginning to end – meaning guests can look forward to all-inclusive ocean travel experiences that bring fascinating destinations together with comfortable sailing distances, thoughtful sea days and immersive shore excursions. “Whether crossing the Atlantic, transiting the Panama Canal or exploring the Caribbean and Europe, we wanted every sailing to reflect Regent’s commitment to effortless and unrivalled luxury,” D’Silva explains. “The result is a collection of journeys that inspire discovery while giving guests the freedom to travel with complete confidence and ease.” Across 13 voyages, the new ship’s maiden season itineraries blend

celebrated destinations with unexpected discoveries. Longer stays and overnight calls allow guests to explore their surroundings and immerse themselves in new experiences with unhurried ease – whether they’re accustomed to life away from land or not. “One of the most surprising things for guests who may be new to cruising with Regent will be the sheer variety of experiences they can enjoy without ever feeling rushed,” says D’Silva. “We hope those who are unfamiliar with cruising discover that ultra-luxury cruising is not simply about where you go, but how you experience the journey, with the perfect balance of destination immersion, time to unwind and the space to appreciate every moment along the way.” Launching her maiden sailing in December, Seven Seas Prestige™ is set to depart from Barcelona on a 14-night Felices Fiestas voyage to Miami. Calling on Malaga, Spain; the Portuguese island of Madeira; and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, this cruise features up to 38 included shore excursions for guests to enjoy. Another standout sailing for D’Silva is the 12-night Sapphire Sojourn voyage scheduled for February 2027 – one that will leave Los Angeles for Panama City, empowering guests to experience the coastal beauty and vibrant culture of the Mexican Riviera as well as the fascinating history and natural landscapes of Central America. “Together, these sailings embody the essence of Seven Seas Prestige™ through immersive destinations, thoughtful pacing and opportunities for guests to discover the world in a way that feels both enriching and effortless,” he shares.
